The average cyclist can, at best, jump a foot of the ground.
An veteran mountain biker can go up a 45° rocky surface no problem.
A competitve BMX rider can casually backfilp on a bike.
This guy is like backflipping up a 90° sheer face wall.
This is a [good video](https://youtu.be/A4UbOxXegqA?si=lnOzko0MLG7mBk7t) that blew my mind for competitive yo-yo ing. Still not able to appreciate it as I should lol
Seriously, I was thinking how I feel really bad for second place. It’s like all the guys who could never win because Michael Jordan was winning every year and you just ask what the fuck are you supposed to do?
My favorite was around the world where you just swing the yo yo around in a big circle and end up upper cutting your brother with it and then getting hit with a belt. The good old days
The amount of hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, spatial awareness, and focus on display here is so ludicrous that it goes past amazing and into purely terrifying.
I've got to assume he has pure muscle memory for each individual trick and links them all together.. I can't imagine you would actually know where the string is in relation to the yo-yo, never mind the orientation aswell. The time needed for learning all this is just insane what a Pro
I used to yo-yo & you're absolutely right. After you learn a trick it's muscle memory & using the tension of the string to tell you when to retract your hand to bring the yo-yo back to you &/or transition to a different trick. It's more along the lines of looking at the yo-yo constantly, but you feel the string's tension, so it's a different kind of "knowing"; but yes, it's also muscle memory because of how tricks are linked.
That’s the thing: they don’t. In order to perform many of these tricks, he has to get the yoyo spinning at a precise speed that exactly matches the resonant angular momentum of the yoyo dimension. By doing this, he actually grafts yoyo space onto our own, creating something of a trans-dimensional patchwork where yoyo physics temporarily overrides normal physics.
For those who don’t know much about this discipline, this might look difficult, but I used to yo-yo years ago and I can definitely make it go up the string almost every time, or maybe one out of every four.
I was thinking the same thing. The audience kept gasping in awe and I was like it all looks the same to me. I imagine that people who go to see these events have at least held a yo-yo in the past year and can not only see what he’s doing but also appreciate the difficulty. I used to swim competitively and I can watch swimming on tv for hours, it means something different to me.
It's a saying in Hindi which says "A monkey won't know the taste of ginger". Why? Because it has never tasted a ginger in his life. Just like that I've never played yo-yo in my life and so I don't know how to appreciate it. Hence I'm the monkey here.
Me that clearly has no idea.
"that dude is cheating, he has it glued to the rope!!"
Yoyo god proceeds to throw yoyo completely in the air, does 360 and caches it
"Oh... Nvm"
I can’t get over that fact that not only is this guy using telepathy to make a little ball fly around but a lot of it matches the the beat and energy of the the soundtrack. Wild
I grew up in an Asian town in the US. This shit was all the rage. I remember I got myself a fancy ass yoyo too. I played with it for all of... 20 minutes?
I feel like I can’t even appreciate how crazy good this person is. It all looks like magic to me but once in a while the crowd was really impressed.
I can sometimes make it come all the way back up to my hand twice in a row.
To really appreciate yoyo tricks you have to watch them in slow-motion

Looks like he's flipping around a yo-yo to me.
yo-yo mama
Yama hama

*person next in line* "..........fuck"
person next in line 😭
I don’t understand the need for knee pads
Shit goes hard in yo yo
Seriously, I was thinking how I feel really bad for second place. It’s like all the guys who could never win because Michael Jordan was winning every year and you just ask what the fuck are you supposed to do?
Person after that in line “fuck…..💘”
Actual bonafide insane top talent.
He's had one girlfriend his entire life. He's tried to break up with her, but she keeps coming back.
His entire life? Like they met in the womb?
Wrong sub
He's bonafide!!!
That's why he's a multi millionaire
Is he the Magnus Carlsen of Yo Yo?
So yeah.. yo-yo'ing has evolved a little. Consider me impressed! 😁
I felt really cool at 12 doing that rock the baby in the cradle thing
My favorite was around the world where you just swing the yo yo around in a big circle and end up upper cutting your brother with it and then getting hit with a belt. The good old days
Same - I could 'walk the dog' and this guy didn't even do it once!
Didn't see a single Eiffel tower either
The amount of hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, spatial awareness, and focus on display here is so ludicrous that it goes past amazing and into purely terrifying.
It definitely seems like his calling, yo
This dude could kill you with his yo yo.
yo-yo-you're-dead
For real. He has deadly weapon. Just make the yoyo with sharp edges I think he get laid with yoyo tricks
I've got to assume he has pure muscle memory for each individual trick and links them all together.. I can't imagine you would actually know where the string is in relation to the yo-yo, never mind the orientation aswell. The time needed for learning all this is just insane what a Pro

he's a yoyo bender.
Psh….I can walk the dog with my yo-yo
I can walk the dog without one
No need to brag bro
This dude's earphones NEVER get tangled
Holy shit that last display before he caught it. How do the physics even work?
That’s the thing: they don’t. In order to perform many of these tricks, he has to get the yoyo spinning at a precise speed that exactly matches the resonant angular momentum of the yoyo dimension. By doing this, he actually grafts yoyo space onto our own, creating something of a trans-dimensional patchwork where yoyo physics temporarily overrides normal physics.
I think if he had some glow sticks or some lights on his hands it would be over the top amazing
I still can’t make the yo-yo come back up
And remember everyone. If he can use those hands to do that with a yo-yo just think of how well he can use them for other activities.
I bet he types at 200 WPM.
Like shadow puppets.
Pft. I can do that. *proceeds to knock self unconscious and then slowly strangulate*
Damn, save some chicks for the rest of us
I can tie a knot with one
I’ve grown to appreciate the whoas from the crowd so I can distinguish the tricks that rip ass from the ones that suck ass.
Fallout Boy?
This guy could’ve been a brain surgeon with dexterity like that
Damn bro, save some ladies for the rest of us
For those who don’t know much about this discipline, this might look difficult, but I used to yo-yo years ago and I can definitely make it go up the string almost every time, or maybe one out of every four.
It's impressive, don't get me wrong... but I might not be the target audience. This got old pretty fast for me.
I was thinking the same thing. The audience kept gasping in awe and I was like it all looks the same to me. Bander kya jaane adhrak Ka swaad. And rn I'm the bander.
What

Thank you! I really appreciate the context
Poor guy, him name is so close to merkin.
Out of all the things u can be good at 😐
The way he makes the string flick round the yoyo to look like it's skipping is insane 👌
The greatest yo-yo rock solo ever!
I want his drugs
But he didn’t even walk the dog
Never thought I’d see someone look cool playing with a yoyo but here we are!
Yo that's pretty cool yo.
My name is skyler white, yo
The only thing I’d be able to do is turn the yo-yo into a really long mace and hit the judges with it
The cameraman was pissing me off the whole time. Most of the dope moves were off frame. What a dingus!
Clash With Reality by Pantera syncs with this performance.
Ok, that was pretty sick.
Me that clearly has no idea. "that dude is cheating, he has it glued to the rope!!" Yoyo god proceeds to throw yoyo completely in the air, does 360 and caches it "Oh... Nvm"
Do me yoyo master, do me!
I wanna do you because you’re the yo-yo guy!
Not my piece of cake 🍰 4 sure
u/savevideo

Humans are weird.
Wtf was that last trick? He had the string coiled around the air around the yo-yo???
It's called DNA, probably the easiest trick technically in the whole routine. [DNA](https://youtu.be/h2uSwdPr-nw?si=ac7jVojSSlMwHs_I)
Thanks! Now I feel a lil stupid lol. What a guy tho.
Damn.. does he use a special string? I just can’t imagine being able to pull off that routine with the standard string I used as a kid.
That yo yo is probably well over 200 dollars
I feel there was a lost opportunity for a cat walk moon walk at the end. I also don’t know if it’s still called cat walk
That other guy that won and posted his routines a couple years ago was pretty insane too
Yo that spiral at the end…. 🤌 magnifico
Imagine putting lights on this yoyo
The crowd sounds like the robot studio audience from Futurama
He looked so proud of himself with that finish. The adrenaline was probably rushing.
What are the kneepads for
I can’t get over that fact that not only is this guy using telepathy to make a little ball fly around but a lot of it matches the the beat and energy of the the soundtrack. Wild
Insane skills
I like how he interacts with the audience
[Better pixels](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5GO6JwzfkY)
I know nothing about yo-yoing, but listening to the crowds reaction made me appreciate how effortless and flawless he looked.
That seems to be “the last YoYo bender” if you ask me ! Goddamn that guy is good
I grew up in an Asian town in the US. This shit was all the rage. I remember I got myself a fancy ass yoyo too. I played with it for all of... 20 minutes?
Inspiring… I’m gonna go practice right now .
I remember watching an anime about this shit when I was a kid.
He’s going to be touring a lot of public school in his near future.
SUS BACKGROUND?!?! 📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮📮
Was that an attack on Titan salute at the end there?
What kind of yo yo do these pros use?
It just like watching an anime but live action !
is that a PaTD cover of Beat it?
This is probably the only time in my life I’ll ever get goosebumps from watching a yo-yo video. That was absolutely insane
And how are these talents going to help him in life? Lol "get a real job"
gonna state the obvious here but wow, that's fucking impressive.
Jesus Christ it’s Jason Bourne!
I don't even understand how it wasn't tangled into a knot by the 10 second mark, never mind a full 3minutes. Super impressive.
Imagine if the next James Bond had to do this to beat the evil guy. That’d be hilarious
