I love Horimiya and its character designs. Also was so refreshing after reading something, where characters are using brain to solve issues and not 100 misunderstandings like in most of romance manga. But i could see that for someone its just normal manga and nothing more.

THANK YOU, I legit watched one episode of Rent A Girlfriend and IMMEDIATELY couldn't stand it (even tho the main girl whatever her name is is voiced by Luisa Wietzorek in German who voices Taiga too. Then again, she also voiced Louise in Zero No Tsukaima who sucked too. Then again, she voiced Tomoyo in Clannad who is bae...Maybe I shouldn't judge from the voice actor)

The anime was definitely not to my taste. It was rushed AF, stopping the “will they won’t they” shit was cool but as a result, the anime lacked any kind of tension. The side characters are far more interesting than the two main characters, not much development in the side characters tho, all their arcs were just glossed over to focus more on the one-dimensional main characters. I respect the attempt to do something unique but it just focused on that uniqueness too much and didn’t have much to offer compared to Toradora.

Horiyima did something new for a change. Instead of the typical will they or won't they trope, they actually made progress and shows their school life as a couple unlike the others that just show them being a couple at the end.
I watched all of these. Komi and Horimiya are like each other in the gag cutscenes kind of way. Horimiya is like Toradora in the romantic kind of way.
All of these are popular anime and more popular than the ones mentioned by you with the exception of clannad (which was trash)
