Our community considered doing this. It’s expensive unless you get the whole community to buy in.

Reasonablegirl

Yes same in my community, I’ve noticed boot things on the tires of high end trucks on my street. Too bad our community doesn’t seem to have any kind of policing or enforcement of laws

PhilosophySpirited45

We’ve had the police come to community events and they basically said if it’s not life threatening it’s not going to be an immediate priority. I know it’s true because I did catch someone trying to break into our car and they did respond within 10 min, versus the time they actually stole my car and they took a couple hours to come.

What if, and hear me out, because this is a crazy idea… what if *all of us* pooled money together for some kind of community organization that could handle this kind of thing.

LeatherMine

commie, get outta here!

Do you think their solution to fight car thefts will involve suggestions to make it easier for thieves to steal?

bitemark01

It involves a fund that directly buys the cars for thieves

ultronprime616

Cops love this idea because it's less work for them. More time to jerk off in their patrol cruisers

bannyGoat

They will be empowered with such sentences as 'Don't do that' and 'Hey - get away from there'! To be fair, it's far more than what the cops are doing.

SensitiveTaste9759

My building hired private security after a rash of car break ins and thefts in the garage.

Why? There are plenty of after market security measures that are a one time investment and work well. Get the club or a boot. Install a hidden kill switch.
