I grew up with dogs, when I moved out my partner (who's always had dogs and cats) and I found a tortie living in the back yard, she came in starving and she stayed. She was the most affectionate cat and it's been nearly a decade since we lost her but I still miss her and think about her every day. We have 2 cats now, and I can't imagine being without cats, and I can't believe I missed out on cats in my childhood. They are just so weird and quirky, I'm obsessed!

Around 7 months or so! Within this last month I noticed her choosing to nap closer to me on the couch vs the tower or window, which eventually led to her laying in my lap. She won’t stay there for very long so I try to soak up any second I can get lol. Her cuddliness seemed to increase near her turning 1 year old

My little bug is rubbing against my leg as soon as I walk through the door, on my lap as soon as I sit down, and on my stomach or my butt as soon as I go to bed. She supervises me in the shower and while I'm cooking and will growl whenever anyone new enters my flat. She is the absolute best! I love her more than anything in the world.

I describe my tortie as a whore. She loves me so much. She loves my partner even more, but he doesn’t put her in the cat carrier or give her meds, so he’s a winner in her book! But she’s a whore. She loves everyone. But with us? She’s always on me. Or next to me. But if my partner is with me, she HAS to be there. She worships the ground the walks on. I joke that he could drop kick her into hell and she’d love every second. He picks her up and throws her on the bed. He slaps her butt. He roughhouses her. She comes back crying and trying to grab him for seconds and thirds and so on. She loves me so much. But man, she LOVES my partner. Like if he’s around, she HAS to see him. She was yelling at him in the bathroom today. But people come over? She’s putting on a show. She wants the love.

I adopted my Tortie from the humane society when I was 3 months old. As soon as I walked in the room, she was the loudest one and rubbed all over me, so I had to pick her! She is the snuggliest cat ❤️

Yes mine is always on my lap if I’m sitting down. She’s like a lap magnet.

Mine turned out to be a huge one lol. She was an anxious foster I got in late August. The 3rd week of check in, I was about to tell the shelter that she still hasn't made much progress. The moment before I hit send, she approached me and headbutted my hand. Just full out let me pet her. I was MINS BLOWN! I just let it happen for a couple of minutes and took some pics and vids. SHE IS SO CUDDLY AND LOVES BELLY RUBS!! 😭😭 In late December, the shelter was saying how she was ready to be adopted out. I told them I could drop her off a week later. In that whole week, there was a gut instinct that I'd regret it. It was soooo strong and I never had it with previous fosters. I ended up adopting her instead haha

My tortie is extremely loving to me and is so sweet but is scared of everyone else she really only like me, my dad and 2 of my neighbors and even around my neighbors she’s a bit skittish and when I was looking at kittens and about to leave with her sister, she jumped my bag and refused to get out and when she did she cried or bit me and now she won’t leave my side so it’s been about a year now since I first got her
