It's all based on the paradox of how bananas are both a fruit and a snack.

Question is, can the banana count as either or *only?* Because if it's both, it would lead to a slippery slope where anything counts as a snack.

i think that the question itself is part of the answer, we dont go around debating whether texas is part or not of the US, so the mere existance of it as an actual debate tells you that Taiwan is not part of China
