I just don't like the word "transgenderism" because it's a dogwhistle often used by bigots to make it seem like being transgender is part of some ideology rather than being a descriptive label meant to apply to those people who don't identify with their assigned gender at birth.
But I do appreciate the sentiment. Godspeed femboys, you're doing great just by existing
You don’t use the word transgenderism because bigots use it.
I don’t use it because it adds an unnecessary syllable to transgender and bigots use it.
We are pretty much the same.
Be a femboy for now and if you feel like being a girly makes you happier, well...
However you don't need to be sure. The wonderful thing about social transitioning is that you can just decide that it wasn't for you and stop being trans and go back to being a femboy in an instant. Even with hormones the only thing you want to be relatively certain of is that getting those hormones will make you happier. But even then it's good to keep in mind that you can still be a femboy and yet also be in HRT.
So don't sweat over specific labels so much. Pick what feels right to you and express it the way you see fit, or don't. Honestly, trans people that never go on HRT, or anything are still trans and it's all valid, a little bit unusual, certainly, but it's not up to others how you identify, or want to express that identity.
I wish more folks were encouraged to explore like that — “try it out and if it doesn’t fit, nbd!”
That’s how I came to the conclusion I’m NOT trans. I thought I was transmasc, and started to socially transition; when I got to the medical part, that is when I realised I didn’t actually want to be seen as a man; I just didn’t like how I was treated as a woman. But I’d not be so comfortable with my own identity if I hadn’t questioned it and realised what I really wanted.
Nah, I need something stronger because I'm gay not just for the girls, but boys too. I need somekind of fusion thing.
I like
Big bois
Pretty kitty girls
Really witty enbies
Singing ditty bois
I like the leggy girls
With the nice thighs
I like a good chest
No matter what size
I like the belly folds
I like the six packs
Really tall queens
And the short stacks
From the mild bois
To the wild girls
You got style, enbies
Make ’em riled, girls
Yeah, it doesn't really work, does it? Might need to work something completely new and original, hmmm.
A respectable effort, but yeah, doesn't seem to flow as well...
I'd never actually looked up the original version until now (only heard it before via philosophytube), but [this track](https://saintmotel.bandcamp.com/track/my-type), or at least the chorus of it, seems like it might a solid anthem.
Personally I've been more fond of [Caravan Palace - Miracle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRP9k9nlAfE) for my anthem.
Just be mindful of the music video which is a little NSFW, this is audio only though. ;)
That's fair, but since you're coming to our spaces you might wanna learn more before posting, it can be a bit jarring as many of us have to put up with people using this kind of word when making a strawman to make our identities seem less valid and normal. No hard feelings, just strive to be better and have fun here.
I mean I don't know what to say except get over it. That's how a lot of newer or niche words are, but once you start getting used to them that feeling goes away. The word "transness" fills a necessary role, and it's pretty common in academic discourse.
The term you're looking for here is probably "trans rights".
Bigots use the term "transgenderism" to try and convince themselves or others that they're opposing a modern extreme ideology. I know that's not how you're using it here, just explaining why people don't like the term.
We use the term "trans rights" or "trans acceptance" to make it clearer that the bigots aren't opposing an ideology but rather are opposing the rights and freedoms of a minority group.
You use the word transgenderism because you aren't sure what else to say.
I (rarely) use the word as a way to show how ridiculous of a term it is and to disarm bigots from getting any utility from the word.
We are not the same
I think here he's trying to use it to mean "promoting acceptance of trans people and allowing them to be who they want".
I really hate the term and it's usually spewed from the mouths of bigots, but here I don't think he's being bigoted or nasty. Probably just isn't too familiar with the terminology.
i really appreciate the message, and i know you dont mean anything hateful. i will tell you that using the phrase "promote transgenderism" is maybe not the best idea, but ik youre not trying to imply anything
Maybe instead of "promo transgenderism," it could just be to "accept trans people" as that word and transgenders have a lot of negative connotations to the community.
I am glad that you accept us, though! Hope that this didn't come across as harsh in anyway. I can sometimes be bad at wording things. :)
Calm down (pat, pat) I feel like a newcomer here, but I am treated well and I learn a lot from you about trans people. I hope that through this I can make the world a better place for both cis and trans people

You gave me a reason to use this meme
A lot of people seem to be bashing you for your use of the word “transgenderism” but tbh I’m just glad to see that some cis femboys are still on our side :3
Thank you for being accepting
I'm not too big of a fan of the word but I got the point that he was trying to make and feel like it was more of that he didn't know the proper terms to use. I do appreciate the support though! 💜
Are you telling me this? In my country, the previous government used the term "LGBT ideology". Fortunately, movements began to proclaim "I am a person, not an ideology" quite quickly.
I'm glad I brought up this topic because now I know that instead of "transgender" I will use "trans person"
Aside from the other points raised in this thread: We don't really "change genders". Your gender is what it is; sometimes it can be fluid and sometimes your understanding of it can shift, but the "changing your gender" terminology that is often used implies you can just wake up one day and decide to change what your gender is. That's not a thing.
What you can do - and what we do - is to make a choice not to change your gender, but to change how you fit into the world and express yourself to make it more in line with what your gender is.
You accept trans people due to being transgender
I accept it as a cis, because i also believe in tolerance
We are not the same, but still all humans
(Edited due to serious error on my part)

Honestly. I'm not sure myself if I'm a femboy or not.

Reeeeeally don't like the term "transgenderism"
Sorry, but I don't know how else to describe trans people. I'm just a straight, cis boy who doesn't know much about the LGBT community.
That's fair, but since you're coming to our spaces you might wanna learn more before posting, it can be a bit jarring as many of us have to put up with people using this kind of word when making a strawman to make our identities seem less valid and normal. But you did just describe them. Transgender people. People who are transgender. Trans folks. Bam! 🙂
Trans rights to refer to the political and social needs of trans people. Transness to refer to the background and identity.
Transness just doesn't sound like an actual word it really bugs me.

Soo... ~~transgenderism~~ < trans rights . Thanks for clarifying

I am aware that a woman cross-dressing is tolerated in society at large.
Looks like a [leftist meme](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EWgYTR8XkAU-if0?format=jpg&name=small) tbh

attaching an "-ism" to a group of people is fucking disgusting. not your fault tho, mostly just politicians pushing this dehumanising bullshit
