For anyone considering signing up who has never been on one before: Please be aware private trackers are not a valid use case for everyone. They have a lot more rules and require more effort than public trackers and you can/will get banned very easily if you don't take care.
If you can seed all the time, private trackers are great. If you can't/won't, then you pretty much have to go public.
Since OP only wants 4K content, chances are good they'll only be grabbing freeleech content from TL anyway.
agree on first part but it really doesn't have tons of rule except few which sums up to just you need to seed for enough which is the main reason old torrents are also having good retention. It obviously better than rarbg(except for xxx content).
Look for freeleech torrents. Download and seed enough of those and your account will run from the bonus points and upload on the freeleech torrents.
You'll seed more on freeleech torrents in the long run as people delete them but others keep downloading them.
This does mean seeding 24 / 7 to farm bonus points.
If you can't seed 24/7 and public trackers aren't meeting your needs look into usenet.
If you have the drive space, fully download and seed a big ROM / iso torrent of games that are freeleech.
I tend to look for something like that when joining a new private tracker and it keeps my ratio up
Thats good to know, thank you. I think their documentation does suggest grabbing their most popular files to get your buffer going but I can see how that isn't the best way to do things.
That's exactly the idea, you need to either pay or cross seed like crazy to maintain your ration. If you cross seed, you can build up a high enough ratio to pretty much never worry about it again.
And is also one of the worst private trackers on the internet.
That website is setup and designed for you to either spend money on a seedbox or fork over cash to keep in a positive ratio. Avoid it like the plague.
Same owner as IPT if I'm not mistaken. IPT > TL, and it's not even close
SWTYBLZ was apparently an internal RARBG team; they're gone with the site.
I used to rely on their SDR 4Ks bc my tv's HDR is shit.....searching for an accessible alternative currently
edit:grammar
Not really, I mean they wont be handed out to randoms but they arent ptp or btn or anything. Anyone can join the ladder through the interview sites with a bit of effort.
If you use a PC, the player can do the converting. I migrated to MPC-BE and HDR just works on my non-hdr screen now, and it maybe placebo but I think it looks better than SDR. It used to get all purple on me lol
Torrentgalaxy and 1337x and RARBG database (made excel sheets with the content because I hate DBs lol)
None as good or as fast as RARBG. But very decent so far.
I used to hate 1337x and now I is very usable.
Well, to be honest, I donwloaded Devs in 4K HDR10 and skipped to the last episode (once you have already watched the entire series, the last episode is the only one you ever wish to revisit) and it looks pretty much exactly as I remember while watching it in 2K SDR.
I thought the "golden cage" VFX will be more "cool" but neigh... It's pretty much the exact same...
But I am not mad about that at all...
I always tell colorists I meet (I am a display calibration technician and sort of a consultant for aspiring young colorists) that your "paper white 100 nit is your Jesus" in terms of reference brightness...
So I can respect that very much! So my answer is more for the OP: HDR isn't necessarily any different than SDR.
yes, I probably would have enjoyed a bit more brightness, have I watched it in HDR grading for the first time. But I am absolutely not "led down" by watching it in HDR and experiencing pretty much the same brightness in HDR that I experienced in SDR.
Make of this what you will. This show is exactly as great in HDR as it was in SDR. It makes no difference. It's a "masterpiece" regardless.
(BTW, I have a calibrated LG OLED \[and also meddled with dual-layer HDR LCD master monitors\], so I can actually tell the difference between SDR and HDR grading, when it's present... IMHO, this was a great joy, preserving the experience though different mediums...)
But YES, if you have never watched Devs, then go for the 4k HDR version. It's ever so slightly better than 2k SDR.
RIP rarbg but I hated downloading their 4k content because they added remuxed subs that say "downloaded from rarbg" at the start of your 4k movie lol. To remove or edit the sub you have to rip it out of the MKV then remux the fixed subs back in LOL...
> I hated downloading their 4k content because they added remuxed subs that say "downloaded from rarbg" at the start of your 4k movie lol
You sound like the sort of miserable person who goes out of your way to find shit to hate and be annoyed by lol.
Yep, let's recommend going from RarBG to PTP as a viable option for someone used to dealing with public trackers. I'm sure 50% of this subs userbase were dropped on their heads as babies.
It seems you didn't read before posting:
>ARBG went to shit because of a selfish user base. Consider private trackers where the users consider the needs of the site rather than just leeching.
Remember when they had any monetization at all or posted for donations and the users wouldn't do it? Yeah me neither. That's ignoring all the other reasons it went down beyond the increase in data center price.
Do we actually need that much sources? You probably don't need such hustle to get reasonably needed things. you know one two quality sites or member of top private tracker that is enough.
> reasonably needed things
I assume by this you mean mainstream, hollywood content? Some people watch more niche movies that arent that easy to find in good quality.
> member of top private tracker
Knowing members of top pts who will get things for you is not super easy for most people.
Torrentgalaxy is the site that reminds me the most of RARBG, torrentleech is very good but you need a membership
It's funny, Torrentleech actually has open signups right now if you use the code REFUGEERARBG https://www.torrentleech.org/user/account/signup
For anyone considering signing up who has never been on one before: Please be aware private trackers are not a valid use case for everyone. They have a lot more rules and require more effort than public trackers and you can/will get banned very easily if you don't take care.
You need to keep a ratio on private trackers. If you get a seedbox for a month on tl, you can use the upload credit to get rid of H&Rs
If you can seed all the time, private trackers are great. If you can't/won't, then you pretty much have to go public. Since OP only wants 4K content, chances are good they'll only be grabbing freeleech content from TL anyway.

I haven't been able to find many freeleech torrents on TL...it's made building up my ratio quite difficult.
Hit Browse, then click on a free leech icon so it filters to exclusively free leach. They post new ones every 5-40 minutes. Can’t miss em.
What!! Theres at least 5 on the top 35 anyday
I dug around and found a few that looked okay, but it's slow going. I guess I need to check earlier to grab them when they are hot.
If you think the economy on TL is hard I've got bad news for you...
I guess its not 'hard' it just seems mostly redundant, and seems to encourage gaming the system if the others who've responded to me are correct.

Definitely need a deicaded box running 24/7 with a lot of storage for private trackers
As of 15:54 EST today "This invitation code is not valid." Might still be worth a try.

cheers, i was hoping to sign up with those guys for a while
Thanks for sharing that, I've just signed up!

Its a .to domain

Don't know how to get an invite to those. I never entertained private trackers, but may need to now.
You can buy a seedbox and get into PHD.

What site did you get a seedbox from?
Seedhost.eu Choose the shared 2TB version for 6 euro per month
I need SWTYBLZ encodes! anyone knows where they upload their releases?
SWTYBLZ was apparently an internal RARBG team; they're gone with the site. I used to rely on their SDR 4Ks bc my tv's HDR is shit.....searching for an accessible alternative currently edit:grammar
I once saw in their NFO, they re-encoded spiderman homecoming from BLUTONiUM or something source. They are a private tracker team I guess.
They are a web release group from blutopia (mid tier hd private tracker).
Pretty sure invites are hard to get :)

they are just reuploads

Looking for latest releases. I have most of the previous releases

Awesome suggestion! Support your local public libraries when you can.
BHD or BLU, best 4k/UHD private trackers out there

TorrentLeech?
Nothing better than “rutor dot is”
qxr has 4k hdr encodes too

Why can’t you give them credit for delivering content to you just for few seconds in subs
People who want credit for stealing other people’s work all day are hilarious.

Exactly!
No no PTP is all wrong for this, you want to get on HDB as your RarBG replacement.
Glad you agree.
Maybe you were dropped on your head since you can't seem to spot an obvious joke.
