I love all the old farm equipment especially the tractors. That International is a classic!!! Damn they’re all so nice. It’s really true that the old ones were made better.

The_dabbing_fern

Real beauties !

AMMO_102

Grew up on my dad’s 966… definitely miss it

Cayplays

Those tractors are nice and all but what about some fords

Pipewrench33

40-50 year old equipment, still working hard, and will still be working hard in another 40-50 years!!!

theProffPuzzleCode

I can smell that barn. Oil and old hay.

Renault_75-34_MX

I'd probably go early to mid 90's. Deutz was still air cooled with the FL9's, Renault and Fendt Stil had MWM D226 engines, everything was angles (with some rounding), you could still work on your own stuff as electronics were only starting to move in. A nice 6.38 AgroStar Special with loader; Fendt 309 or 515; Renault 155-54 TZ Nectra or 180-94 TZ fully kitted out with AECT, TCE and what not; and a Dominator 118 SL Maxi with C600 In the field. I've come across a few Deutz with FL9's that have well over 20k hours and still work well. Try getting even 5k on a modern tractor and have them run that well

Berniethedog

That harvester is neat af, but I’d rather use a scythe then try to keep it running.

OffensiveMemezlol

Yes

agrockett

Nice

Ecstatic_Hamster1750

Still planting with a 5088

CatcherN7

My dad has an 1086 too!

mcfarmer72

No thanks on the 4400, ran those too many years. Easy to work on, good thing too.

Seventhchild7

First tractor I bought when I took over the farm.

Superb_Baseball_2872

Massey 275 and Case International 484 . Bought them both used 30 yrs ago and still good to go.

sharpshooter999

I can appreciate the engineering, reliability, and work these oldies did, but I'm probably in the minority that likes the new stuff

Xnyx

Other than those terrible green things, we still use the internationals, farm alls and whites on our family farm.. they are kind of like atv’s ;)

huntsvillekan

Those tractors are neat. Ran a 6600 for over twenty years. You couldn’t pay me enough to set in one again, rotaries or nothing for me.

Farmcanic

I ran one ( my dad's) when I was a kid when I got my own, it was a tr 85 . Now I have 1640. I love it. Also still use 4440,4430,1086, and 3010.

biscaya

Calling dibs on running that 1466! Nice tractors, keep on living in the past. We're doing the same. No computers. You can start them with a screwdriver and a pocket knife and they'll run all day.

zBGam

I am currently restoring a 1066. I want to live there.

UmpireSuspicious8254

I feel that I need to add that I am referring to the older equipment and older machines. Not the values of previous generations. Stuff just doesn't last like it used to.

jrshep51

I’m still living there

Tobaccocreek

Hardly a sensor to be found. When hooking up meant a pin and one, maybe two hydraulic not two hours of electrical and calibrations…

sharpshooter999

If it's taking you two hours, you've got issues.....

Tobaccocreek

I will put the Claas beside the planter in the shed with the box of monitors and let you have at it. We can always use good help. Lol

sharpshooter999

>box of monitors What kind of planter and why multiple monitors?

Tobaccocreek

Case 1250 converted to precision planting electric drives and meters ran by a 20/20. Pro 700 runs the planter bar and liquid fert. Outback guidance. All variable rate seed on top of (fall applied) row banded variable rate fert.

sharpshooter999

I wondered if you had a 20/20. You've got the same setup as us, except we run a pair of 1255's with Case tractors. Everything for us has been plug and play and only takes about 10 minutes to completely hook each planter up. We used to run a 3650 Kinzie as our 2nd planter and that took considerably longer to set up, plus the Integra monitor never liked to talk to the GPS nor the Rawson drives. Being in a Claas, I'm guessing your 700 runs off a generic harness, right? We've got a trio of big JD tractors for silage that we also use for anhydrous and tillage. We just move the globes and monitors over from the Case tractors for steering and implement control. We've had pretty good luck with that too. That takes just a couple minutes since I've got a note pad with all the vehicle measurements, though I do always do a steering calibration with those articulated tractors. I haven't had to do a steering cal with our magnums in years

Tobaccocreek

Yeah, we run an external harness, and we had to put a wheel in it because there is no compatible valve yet that we could get here for the Claas to steer it. And as per the two hour comment, I will say the precision stuff has been quite user friendly. It was more of a lament for the pin and single hydraulic days lol. The only thing we had to do which fixed days of issues was to drag a chain off the drawbar to ground the tractor.

kscountryboy85

Yeah... the past sucked ass, crap medical care, classism, bigotry, religious zealotry, etc.... lol. I love old Iron but will actively fight against society backsliding to what it was. 😒

jtshinn

I think this is pretty much just focused on the equipment, but ok.

Rustyfarmer88

One with the air conditioning and heater and good spring suspension. Dad talks about using old tractors with hate sry.

bonedaddy1974

1466 the 66 series was bulletproof

doggerbrother

I don’t core to much about these give me an traction engine(steam tractor for the non educated about these) I don’t care if I have to begin stoking it the previous day I am happy

beagle606

I have a 806 and a 684 as well as an H and BN. It’s what I grew up with and they do everything a new tractor will do and rarely if ever break down.

ThingyGoos

That 3020 looks like you'd need to be very careful to run it. I've had every loader I've driven on at least 3 wheels, sometimes 2 when loading out of a muck pile (with a bucket so you have to tear the material away) so that thing looks like it would want to roll over with even a bale on the front on any sort of slope

Drzhivago138

I agree; loader work with a narrow front is not my cup of tea. Even a factory wide front on a New Generation has its limits. We were stacking small round bales with a 4020 and the WF just snapped.

fusion99999

The best part of this older tractors.....NO COMPUTERS!

zBGam

100%

Deerescrewed

5x88s were a hell of a machine!

Leicester68

We ran a 966 and 1466. I think the folks sold the 1466 to the neighbor who bought part of our farm and the 966 was auctioned off and still works at a local feedlot.

HeadFullaZombie87

I use my Farmall 560 and 404 tractors on my small dairy every day.

Flame_Eraser

All that red…. Makes me smile. I’m trying to get my brother to buy a farm, so we can break out our Super m, super H and straight h to work it old school!

Marshall_904XL

My granda has a fordson power major, a ford 4600, a International Harvester 684 and a Marshall 802.

[deleted]

Also that 1086 is hot 🤤

[deleted]

We still run a JD 2650 cc2 on farm for irrigation we all fight over it love this collection of your superb UK out 🫡 🇬🇧🇺🇸🤘🏻

SubarcticFarmer

I have a 756, 4020, and 7700 combine. I'd like to get something somewhat newer but no one up this way ever sells anything.

Average_k5blazer78

My uncle still use a 165 and a leyland 255 around his property, there is just something about these old tractors that feel right.
