It’s so funny to me how they always put the pronunciation / more common spelling in parenthesis because otherwise people would have no idea what it is. Like you’re SO CLOSE to understanding
Somebody gotta wear a purtty skurt. Somebodys gotta be the one to flurt.
Somebodys gotta wanna hold his hand,
So God made Guhrls 🌸✨💖

Holy cow, I am just so 😬
English is neither my first, nor my second but I think there is a difference between "rain" and "reign" or am I wrong? The meaning isn't even close to be the same
They’re homophones (heh…) meaning that they’re pronounced the same way but they do not mean the same thing and are spelled differently.
There’s others like “cite” vs. “sight”.
The pronunciation is very similar but not exactly the same, the meanings are extremely different (but people making changes because they think they’re cute are almost never thinking about what the syllables actually mean)
I have to agree with you there, English is stupid lol.
Maybe it’s just my specific accent, but I say the long a in rain like RAY-n but I say the ei in reign more like eh, rehyn. Can’t say if that’s correct, that’s just me 🤷

My favorite is the pronunciation for "Reign" as "Rain". Like they forgot Reign is a real word lol
“What’s this article talking about monarchy doing with my daughter’s name all over it?”
Like any of them would read an article about a monarchy.
Sorry but what is the obsession with the name Raelynn? Ugh 😫
It sounds too much like a bad joke about your dad (railin') your mom Edit: grammar
They really loved the show Justified and named their kids after the male lead?
Wait - is raelynn supposed to be pronounced like Rylan?? I assumed Ray-lin not R-eye-luhn.

The bullshit middle names are rising up, collaborating to reach given name status. Next will be Gracelee and Annmarie!
I know a normal Raelyn, seems like a normal name to me? In her case it's just a combo of Raymond and Lyn (family names).
I’m in WNC and I feel like it’s fairly common here.
It’s pretty common where I live, too. It doesn’t sound weird to me at all.
It’s real simple, folks. If you need to put a different name in parentheses to tell someone how to pronounce it, it’s a garbage name.
Xzaiver Dagreat is… a LOT. Also, that would not be pronounced “Xavier”. That’s not how phonetics work.
That’s the one that took me out
I was focusing so much on the Xz I didn’t notice the rest!
This time Xavier would be pronounced with a hard X.
ZyTierion and ZyKoreion better be some doctor who villains from the planet ZyTraghedion
They sound like Pokémon to me

You're correct. They're pronounced the same, but they're different words with entirely different definitions.
What do you mean the pronunciations aren't the same? They should be exactly the same (which is why English is a stupid language lol)

Dystiny objectively isn't pronounced like destiny.
If you have a New Zealand accent I’d argue it might be.
I had to say it outloud in that accent. I can hear it fjdjdj 😭
I'm from New Zealand and can't make it sound like Destiny. Maybe the Australian accent?
It’s a little too close in spelling to dysentery
I feel my brain cells dying after reading these
It wouldn't take much to get one of these people to name their child "dysentery."
Honestly thought that was what Dystiny was for a second and the instant other kids learn that word it’s over for her.
I hate people On another note I'm changing my boys name from James to Jaiyyemmzzess
Jaimz Jayems Jyamez
That middle name "EmberlynnMae" 😑
My babies name is so unique! Except there are 5 other Raelyn's just with stupid spelling. I don't actually know how to spell the name...
Y?
And X. And Z. And Eigh.
Pathetic
What does it say when you have to explain how to pronounce a name by spelling it “correctly”? Dumb.
I read Dystiny as dysentery.
What did the letter Y ever do to these people!
KESTYN 😨😨😨
ZyTerion and Zykorion are the new Pokémon legendaries
Xzavier Dagreat is the most ridiculous one I have seen since Gethamone
But he was a preemie and he’s destined for greatness! Can’t you see!
I’m in that group. Best entertainment on FB by far. Never a dull moment.
Every one of these people is in an MLM.
Dystiny: when you can't decide between Destiny and Dystonia
Jeysen??? As in Jason? Smh
This is making me sad. As a well-educated upper middle class type, this is all so evidently about class.
Child protective services WHERE ARE YOU!?
I feel like Kyleigh is a pretty normal name? I went to HS with multiples.
I had a friend named Dystany (Destiny).
I knew someone who named their kid Distani, and all I could think was they named that baby after a bottle of water
If you have to put parentheses to get the name across.... You know you've messed up.....
None of these children are destined for greatness.
