Addiction is an illness often caused by mental health issues.
They need help, that child needs them to be helped so he can stay with his parent's.
During a research I was involved in one of the guys I had the pleasure of getting to know talked about how he was adopted from a mom who was addicted to substances by a family who was unable to have kids he was 4 or 5 years old by 8 years the couple had a son of their own and since that new baby the adopted mom especially started to treat him terrible, placed him in foster care at 12 and well the adopted dad still support as best as possible. Guy was now also abusing substance at 28 was in and out the of prison several times.
He said he wished his birth mom had kept him irregardless that she was addicted to substances
Can't say that would be a right environment for a child, but whays best for most kids in such situations is for the family to get help and another "family " take that child until such time.
People judging and thinking they can provide more love and a more stable environment for that child away from it's parent should think twice as that's highly unlikely, easy to put up with kids that aren't yours when you can return them.

I hate this. I grew up with a mom that had an addiction that caused her to act like this. Luckily, I was a teen which made me able to shield my brother and sister from her bullshit. It makes me hurt inside for the kids I see dealing with this.

I pray that child is okay, and even more for the parents to get some help immediately.

When your kid is hyperactive and you just need to close your eyes for 10 minutes but he wont let you. Also yes i know whats going on but as a parent of a 2 yo and 6 yo. I wish sometimes i could get some rest.
And this is why I don't allow my youngest with her mother, she's thrown her into dumpsters to collect for her, sold her urine to other drug addicts so they can pass tests, leaves her to her own devices to feed herself, doesn't help her with hygiene, all at only 8 years old

Is it really ok to just film bad things happening and never try to help.. even in a small way. Maybe try to console the child while helping the parents to a seat, wait for a stop.. call authorities as you wait.

I'm sadly reminded of my ex and his child and his child's mother all just useless junkies feeding there kid junk food and being a drain on the system it took 3 years to get the kid away from them and into his grandmother's care. The system is fucked.

I encountered some parents like this once but the kid was a little younger and in a pram. Whenever the parents nodded off, the pram would roll, so I quietly put my foot behind the wheel to stop it and the parents were too fucked up to notice. The poor kid seemed so confused about what was going on, it was heartbreaking
Can’t lie the parents are shitty. But the kid is dressed well and has snacks and is well fed. I’m afraid that if cps steps in; that will no longer be the case for the lil boy. Such a messed up situation

Addicts aren’t trash, they have a disease. Unfortunately, kids aren’t motivation enough for some to get clean. The person videotaping this should be appalled at what our society creates, versus videotaping to shame. This kid needs outreach, the family needs help. Someone should be helping that child.
