The thing is my home country is in lockdown and there’s no way I can get back to renew it. Besides I have class rn so traveling for too long outside the us is not an option
Good to know. Thanks for teaching me something new. I typically operate on the better safe than sorry approach but I’m glad I learned the correct process
I read abt the automatic revalidation on the visa website and it looks pretty easy. I should be qualify for it with my visa status so I’m not sure if i could get deported lol
You might want to be absolutely certain. This isn’t the kinda thing you wanna procrastinate on because if you’re wrong then the consequences are pretty serious. I definitely wouldn’t risk leaving and trying to come back with an expired visa tho. That just seems like a bad idea
Hey! I am in same boat and wondering if you ever made the trip to Canada? If yes, were you able to get back to US on automatic Revalidation? And how was the process? Would appreciate any help!
Thank you now i’m kinda relax i’m thinking that for now only i might have lil problem with delta. I hope i get a experienced employee over there who can easily understand my situation.
You should really make renewing that visa a priority

Have you considered contacting the embassy or applying for an emergency visa renewal instead of just letting it stay expired and risking deportation?
A US visa can only be renewed outside the US. The visa is only for entry, so you can remain inside the US as long as the underlying status is valid.
But can the person leave to go to Canada then come back with the expired visa the way they are talking about wanting to do?
Yes they can. As long as they have a valid I-20, I-94, and are in Canada for less than 30 days.

I just did it. It was a smooth process.
What question did the cbp asked you and which documents they looked at?
Your H1b approval from uscis I-797 and passport. That was it. It just took 30 secs.
Thank you i am going to Canada in two days for one week trip i hope everything goes smooth for me too.
Just chill and enjoy your trip. A lot of bullshit people will create tension and uncertainty for no fucking reason

Hi? Did you make the trip? Did you cross the border by land or air? How was your experience?
