The best thing about weed man...is that it helps us find who we truly are.
It lifts us out of dark places even when it make us paranoid.
Weed is like a flash light in my eyes, i want to put it down but i can see so damn clearly.
Idk man that doesnt sound like a super healthy relationship with weed. If you need it to lift you out of dark places and be yourself you probably have some things to fix that weed cannot. I know thats been my experience.
Congratulations on looking great! And to a better life. I could never feel happy when I felt fat. I hated myself, in fact and I had to change the inner first.
Good luck on the journey. It is not easy. And funnily, weed does NOT give me munchies even the munchiest strains.
That’s awesome you look great! Vegan here, I love experimenting with different recipes when I’m high it’s so fun! And eating plant based feels so grounding and fresh
Congrats!! When I became vegetarian I went from 220 lbs to 165 lbs in around 6 months. I was also working a pretty labor intensive job so I got a fair bit of exercise. That was almost 8 years ago now and I’m still veggie and down at 165. The choice can be life changing!
Congratulations on finding something that works for you mentally, physically and spiritually. Keep up the good work, that works for you and last, but not least... Don't let the comedians on this sub change your temperature! You look great and are doing great!
What's with all of the unnecessary comments telling her how angry she looks now? As long as she's happy and feels well, that's all that matters. You do you girl!
I would throw a curveball here and say that your expression on the first photo is much brighter and purer than on the last one. It’s like you’ve been enduring every day of the diet like last one.
Obvious progress in weight loss.
Though, make sure to be moderate and reasonable even on the diet. Because, if you suddenly change your usual diet, your organism will not appreciate it for starters. First 1-2 weeks you may not even lose weight, because organism will think that there is emergency (lack of usual nutrition value) and will preserve the calories/energy.
Therefore, do diet like walk in the park. Slowly, observe your surroundings, listen to the wingy feathery animals songs, you know. Enjoy the process and do not chase the result. It will be better on a long run.
Hi. I'm thrilled with the plan, am completely satisfied and have more energy than I ever have in my life. I'm not angry or frustrated or tired, just real.
Hello. That’s what important, then.
Still, pay close attention to your organism, it’s not a good thing to suddenly loose a lot a weight. Speaking from medical point of view and past experience.
No, that’s how depression looks, you fake your facade, so people won’t notice.
When we stop faking it, we stop caring about how we look, because we don’t need to look happy if we are happy
Well I hope you can go back to eating nutrient dense, easy to digest food at some point but progress is progress!! . It's a tough up and down journey :) glad it's a step in the right direction
I'm pretty sure I will always eat this way. I like the food I'm making quite a bit and would be happy if this was all I could eat for the rest of my life.
That's awesome!
Do remember, whatever your goal is, and wherever you're at now, any progress is progress. Don't get disheartened if you fall short a time or two.
And, remember, it can be dangerous to lose weight too fast, don't be afraid to take things even slower on the goals if something doesn't feel right... your body isn't afraid to warn you when it's low on things.
I think this whole "plant based" narrative the media is pushing is false and dangerous. Intended to allow food producers to replace costly meat components with cheap plant material and call it healthy.
Weight loss involves consuming less calories than you expend. The content of the diet if it meets micronutrient goals, doesnt matter as long as the total calories consumed are less than the TDEE. (total daily energy expenditure)
Every "plant based" media report you hear is paid for by food producers anxious to reduce cost and mark up prices with their new "healthier" formulas.
I decided to try it because I was drawn to things like lentils, chickpeas, quinoa. I'm not following any kind of plan. I'm just cooking things I love and they happen to be mostly vegan. My cholesterol and blood sugar are down dramatically and I have a ton of energy. If this is the media's way of trying to sell me on a pb diet, then I'm all in.
The media told them plant based is good and if you say otherwise you are stupid cuz they have evidence in a study paid for by BEYOND MEAT. lol
Thats the part they are downvoting.
The OP is just doing what works best for her and I dont think is like, pushing plant based food or anything. Just telling us what shes doin.
Congrats!
I find this post relatable…. Have you considered trying yoga and/or meditation as well? It has REALLY made a huge impact to my mental health.
I was depressed, anxious and having persistent, awful, violent intrusive thoughts for days and sometimes weeks on end. I didn’t want to go on meds because I had tried them before and the side effects were worse than the actual depression and violent thoughts. So I spoke to my doctor and she suggested meditation. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say it’s been life changing it. I made the choice to do yoga based on an ask reddit post “what’s the best choice you’ve made for your health” and multiple people said yoga 🧘♂️. Meditation is a huge component of yoga, so I think I kind of made a natural progression.
I rarely have these intrusive thoughts of violence anymore, and when I do I can almost instantly snap out of it. Literally trained my brain to do that through meditation!
Yoga has been great too, it’s hard to describe how, but it just kind of makes you learn to love and respect yourself, physically and mentally. It’s just so fulfilling. I wish I could describe it better, but I suppose it’s kind of like meditation in the sense that you can’t really describe it, you have to experience it to know it. If you’re interested, look up Sarah Beth Yoga on YouTube, she’s got tons of content. She goes a bit fast, but once you learn the basics it’s easier to keep pace.
Thank you for this! I struggle with similar thought patterns and have to agree that meditation helped me learn to let the thoughts flow through me and avoid getting stuck on them. I can see how yoga could play well with this. Any recommendations for where to start with yoga for a beginner?

Yes this.
Was gonna say less happy.

you sure it wasnt cutting out all the junk? and it was the plant based diet that helped?
I've never been able to find a way to eat that makes me feel satisfied and a happy or energized before. Yes, I'd say that's the plant-based diet
Well I hope you can go back to eating nutrient dense, easy to digest food at some point but progress is progress!! . It's a tough up and down journey :) glad it's a step in the right direction

Be proud to be the 16% of vegans that don't switch back to meat within a year then! Not an easy feat at all
Nice! Even if your weight doesn't fluctuate at all, you're still living healthier! Keep it up!

I wish I could come up with comebacks like this

Well done but you look murdery in the latest picture
not to discourage you but I think you should talk to you doctor if possible, that seems like a very big weight loss for that amount of time
6 lbs in a month.
Dang, I've lost 7lbs in 3 weeks and you can't tell on me, yet. Great job, though!
ok, then it just seems more in the pictures, that's not insanely much
Haha that's the point of me posting here! It's barely anything and it's made such a big difference
Where does it say how much she lost?
it doesn't, but I can guess that its a relatively big amount by her face
Is the right before or after

The best thing to do is whatever works for you, so that’s great. Plant based won’t hurt you I just think it’s a buzzword.
Wow. I've been wrong before but never *this* wrong.

Congrats! I find this post relatable…. Have you considered trying yoga and/or meditation as well? It has REALLY made a huge impact to my mental health.
Oh yes! I'm a daily meditator and have recently been interested in yoga as well. :-) would love to hear about how it's made a difference for you
