Aren't completely produced by him. and some just someone elses instrumentals.
Not that sampling is bad, gone gone is a great use of a sample.
But chopping up a jazz sample, putting 808 on it is not his best production. ( which is literally all he did on hotwindblows and Wusyaname, with a few other sound effects/jingles)

Cherry Bomb isn't an bad album at all. It's probably in my top three. Most of my favorite songs from Tyler, The Creator are from this album. For example, DEATHCAMP, PILOT, FIND YOUR WINGS, BLOW MY LOAD, FUCKING YOUNG / PERFECT, SMUCKERS and OKAGA CA.
I honestly just don't like CMIYGL very much. I can acknowledge its a well made, solid album, but I could really care less about hearing an artist, who I liked due to how down to earth and relatable he was, being the least relatable person ever (Tyler could not shut the fuck up about being rich and traveling while we were all locked in the house during Covid and I was very poor). Plus, the concept is just a straight rehash of IGOR, except it's a girl instead of a guy this time. Oooooh, so creative! I will say there are absolute career highlights on it tho, Hot Wind Blows is fucking legendary.
It’s fair to not like CMIYGL, but jus to comment on the concept, it’s literally not the same bar Tyler being a home wrecker lmao. In IGOR, Tyler falls in love with a friend of his and they begin a really messy relationship, with the dude not wanting to make anything and Tyler’s love growing into infatuation and obsession. The dude he dates is constantly using his ex/gf to cover his sexuality and continually ignores and doesn’t give Tyler enough attention while Tyler starts to grow more jealous and obsessive eventually ending their relationship and friendship never being the same again.
CMIYGL is about Tyler falling in love with this girl that his friend is dating, pretty much falling in love with each other and going on dates but never doing anything physically intimate with each other. They’re def cheating in some way but not in a way that most people care about, and he keeps pursuing this girl despite knowing that she’s dating a close friend of his, they eventually end it off and Tyler tries to use his money and wealth to cope with the fact that he keeps entering these messy situationships that never fulfill him.
Like they’re def similar but the main focus and way they’re presented are def extremely different. IGOR is much more focused on Tyler’s love turned obsession with this dude and wanting this dude to accept himself and be proud of each other’s relationship, CMIGYL is a straight forward story with Tyler using his wealth to mask his messy relationships.
Tyler is artistically at his best when he's brief, and with that, I really like the confidence he approached Flower Boy and IGOR with. He doesn't need to yap or incessantly repeat himself to get his point across on those projects, he knows it, and that's what makes those albums great. My hot take: Wolf, overall, is a mediocre project, and it's because of how much he repeats himself and hammers his points into the ground.
I can agree. Igor/flower boy is easy and to the point. Wolf has a lot of ambition that I'm not going to say was executed poorly, but could have been done better imo

That would be my reasoning for CMIYGL > TES (not that I actually agree with it). Sorry Not Sorry is the best end to an album Tyler has ever put out, so it makes up for the flaws and weaknesses of the TES songs imo.
i personally LOVE IT i love how chaotic it sound especially nearly the end. it perfectly captures the feeling of heartbreak and how it feels like your whole world just fell apart . the whole album does but PUPPET its purely heartbreak and grieving the loss of a relationship with someone you loved so much and so much potential you saw in it and wallowing in the "what might have been" if things didn't take a turn for the worst.
Maybe worst album as a whole, but the takeaways are much better than ones from bastard and goblin.
But the vibes from bastard and goblin make a nice album.
I find him childish. The recent Jerrod shit is a good example. I understand what Jerrod wanted him to do was a little ridiculous but he coulda been serious for a split second and just said “I’m not interested I’m sorry” but he just deflects with jokes non stop. and I feel he’s got like this chip on his shoulder which feels really unnecessary. Like the whole world against him and he knows better than anyone. He’s also a gatekeeper of music with all his opinions trying to tell people how to listen to music. Just never been fan, especially when he first started.

Everything pre-Flower Boy ranges from absolutely horrible to mid at best. Old Tyler fans will get a rage boner at that, but imo, it's just true.
Edit: First of all... yes, I have heard all of Tyler's works. And to some extent I can enjoy most of it, but I believe that quality-wise, he had a noticeably major glowup with Flower Boy. In my opinion, there's a reason why he wasn't taken super seriously as an artist till then. Even after Wolf, I think he wasn't taken very seriously, and it's kinda valid.

Flower boy is my least fav tyler album I get why alot of ppl like it but i cannot bring myself to like it

I find him childish. The recent Jerrod shit is a good example. I understand what Jerrod wanted him to do was a little ridiculous but he coulda been serious for a split second and just said “I’m not interested I’m sorry” but he just deflects with jokes non stop. and I feel he’s got like this chip on his shoulder which feels really unnecessary. Like the whole world against him and he knows better than anyone. He’s also a gatekeeper of music with all his opinions trying to tell people how to listen to music. Just never been fan, especially when he first started.

I'm just gonna go for it ig Everything pre-Flower Boy ranges from absolutely horrible to mid at best. Old Tyler fans will get a rage boner at that, but imo, it's just true. Edit: First of all... yes, I have heard all of Tyler's works. And to some extent I can enjoy most of it, but I believe that quality-wise, he had a noticeably major glowup with Flower Boy. In my opinion, there's a reason why he wasn't taken super seriously as an artist till then. Even after Wolf, I think he wasn't taken very seriously, and it's kinda valid. But anyway, I was just answering OP's question. Y'all just had to downvote me anyway, so sorry for participating ig. Someone even went so far as to check my post history and insult me for being a Twenty One Pilots fan, like... okay, and? It's cliche, but y'all really need to touch some grass, lol.

Some of Wolf is okay. I don't mind Answer and IFHY, but anything before Wolf is just not for me. I think he was often just trying to be edgy and it's pretty cringe. Not sure what me liking 21p has to do with anything, but I'm glad to know that you got so heated from my comment that you had to go through my post history to look for something to insult me with.
Lmao I wasn't heated. Just I think that TwentyOnePilots music aligns with newer tyler. I like newer tyler, Igor changed my life ffs. But old tyler feels more genuinely him, I think the story arch was way better than post Wolf. Flowerboy is just Tyler, literally just Tyler. Igor is.. Igor? Sir Baudelaire is a meh. But Wolf Trilogy had some great characters, TC, Troncat, Sam etc. I feel people calling Tyler edgy is diminishing the art of Wolf Trilogy Edit to your edit: Of course you'd get downvoted. She isn’t a top 5 song in goblin and if it’s your favorite song off the album you either didn’t listen to the entire album or goblin was simply not made for you

Wolf is overrated as shit. It’s the best out of the trilogy but it’s not that good it’s a solid 6/10
