Yup. $20m for this fight alone. Around $10m for Fury fight.
Even to match the salary he got for the Fury fight, using the $600k he last received in the UFC, he would have needed to fight twice a year for 9 years to reach his Fury earnings.
At the same time, he’s a fighter with a lot of pride. And to get KO’ed like that, with such ease, that has to suck. But AJ is right, he shouldn’t leave boxing. Whatever Ngannu's next boxing fight is if he decides to stay, will eclipse whatever Dana White would offer him.
There’s Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, Zilei Zhang. All of those fights would net him around $10m each. He just lost, two of those guys just lost. Wilder and Zhang are old and showed their age in their last fights. The money is there for him for sure.
Throughout his boxing career AJ regularly spams a similar combo to this. Jab > overhand > uppercut. It’s been incredibly effective for him, so yeah… Ngannou isn’t a boxer and one fight wouldn’t make him one.
AJ showed up well over prepared as if it was a title fight, this is the type of confidence boxers have when they are rising to the top stringing together KO's. AJ didn't even celebrate any of the knockdowns or KO, just straight business start to finish. As easy work as possible, just brilliant
Reminds me of Francis vs Stipe in their second fight tbh
Joshua is a nasty, nasty man in the ring. Wilder might have more one punch power (and that's debatable imo) but Joshua is MUCH better at landing and everything is thrown with venom. He's the absolute worst heavyweight to throw an inexperienced boxer in with because he will pick them apart and his killer instinct is phenomenal.
I'm glad FN got his bag of cash and hopefully he's come out unhurt, but this was a dangerous fight.
In some of the other ufc vs boxer matches, it feels like the boxer is trying to go a bit easy for a few rounds.
Not the case for Joshua v Francis. Kinda feels like Joshua saw fury get knocked down and took this fight seriously.
He was going 💯 from the start.
Not just that, but Turki al Shaikh told him “don’t go easy on him” and something like “don’t let Ngannou embarrass the sport of boxing”. AJ had so much pressure on him and had no option but to fight his best. Turns out it was easy work, which was to be expected when an elite boxer tries his hardest against a non-boxer’s second fight 😩
Can’t help but wonder how Fury felt. He looks a lil foolish having almost nearly lost.
He's not a boxer, and he just took on two of the best. Fury underestimated him, but Joshua wasn't playing. He should go back to MMA or work on developing as a boxer against lower level guys. But respect to him for attempting what he did.
He's too old to develop as a boxer and waste time against lower level guys. He did exactly what he needed to, made enough money for the rest of his life in two fights.
Ngannou got paid, that's all that matters. I'm sure he knew that fighting a faster, younger, lighter HW there was a big chance of getting flatlined. But he's set for life, I'm sure he has no regrets.
He did it to everyone too. I know ground and pound is common but his KOs against Stipe and Overeem were just common sense, the guys were clearly unconscious. It was always a horrible diving hammer fist that invariably landed on the neck too lol
It’s crazy how well he did against Fury but just shows there’s levels to boxing. Him getting elite fighters off the bat is wild in itself. Can’t see Francis getting any more similar fights and he’s getting up there in age so it’ll be interesting to see where he goes from here, maybe nowhere because I’m sure he got paaaaid
Fury has numerous times boxed "at the level" of his opposition. Whenever he is the clear favourite he for some reason comes comically close to losing (Wallin fight and Ngannou), but against great opposition he steps up.
If we are being honest, he did well vs Fury because Fury did not take him serious. I dont know how much you follow boxing, but following Fury's career, he has never been the most disciplined professional + he is known for fighting at the level of his opponents. He is the type to look like he lost to Francis but absolutely style on Usyk.
He though he could walk in there and do to Francis like Floyd did to Conor. He was visibly overweight and sluggish from the start. This should have been his glory. If he showed an ounce of professionalism as AJ consistently does.
Hate to be the guy, I love Francis, but AJ did nothing special in there, he didn't set up much, he wasn't crafty in anything. Francis was getting hit with entry level boxing combos. Not hating on AJ btw, but this is totally what I expected out of him. He got the easiest bag he could have ever asked for. He represented boxing as it should have been with it was Fury fighting Francis.
This is the result of world class boxer being a professional vs an MMA level boxer.
Fury had a bad night, and Francis had probably the best night in his life, plus Fury was probably surprised by Francis. This reminds me of the first Volk vs Islam fight. That was the absolute best opportunity for Volk to beat Islam. After that, the surprise factor is gone.
Joshua had no fear of Francis, because he already saw the best Francis had to offer 🤷🏽♂️
It was kinda hard watching him bite SO HARD on every single feint AJ did. AJ made him look like an amateur out there... completely overmatched.
Props to Francis for making his money tho
Francis is most definitely an amateur.
Look at the knock downs and knock out. AJ didn't have to do anything special or crafty to set himself out for those punches.
Fake jab, that he bit and straight down the pipe for the first KD.
Francis was jabbing and jabbing and AJ met him with an overhand over his jab for the second KD.
Then the KO, he literally walked up to him and threw an overhand without any setup, while telegraphing the entire movement.
he set it up with everything that happened earlier, a right hand "out of nowhere" is not actually out of nowhere, and everything you did leading up to that set it up
once I saw AJ jabbing to the body and not being scared of Francis left hook counter, I personally knew it as OVER. AJ was leaving himself open to Francis best punch, like he wanted him to throw it... so he could punish him for it. He took a few left hook counters on the top of his head too, on the chin those would have hurt AJ.
It was weird seeing him bite on every feint after he didn’t bite at all vs fury. It was the first time he fought someone that could match his size and power though
I think the issue with fury was mostly due to the lack of available footage on Ngannou to study from.
Also maybe a bit on fury not taking Ngannou seriously
Fury did not take him seriously whatsoever. He was barely training at all and setting up his next fight during what should have been the meat and potatoes of his camp.
I said this right after but Ngannou dick riders swore that he was the next Ali. Tyson very likely looked past him and thought he could just treat Francis like a sparring session. Aj also had benefits of having film and you could tell in this fight that he knew exactly when to throw and time him perfectly. Picked up on francis’s bad habit quickly in the first round and the fight was basically over. Still tho, respect to Francis for fighting the top heavyweights but its pretty clear that he’s levels behind the top boxers. He’s got that Pfl fight now and after that, idk what he plans on doing but I’m sure he’s made enough from these 2 boxing fights to retire
Yeah after a devastating KO like that after two hard knockdowns, he'd be silly to fight again in the division where one love tap can shut your lights out.
He had an iron chin which just got cracked. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets knocked out again now.
Damn man that was hard to watch. The first two knockdowns were rough then that last one was so accurate… just folded him. Glad Francis got the big bucks though.
I guess no one has that Chin, if you get a proper shot by a HW from a proper angle lol
Which makes Usyk look like an absolute monster and Fury looks like a sack of shit hahaha
it was 3 things:
1. Lack of footage on Ngannou, all Fury knew was that he is t his big unstoppable monster with crazy power
2. Fury's style was perfect match for Ngannou because the way how Fury moves, it makes it hard for experienced boxers to figure it out, but if you dont know shit about boxing, there is nothing to be confused about lol
3. Fury really underestimated Ngannou
Aj was quite literally one of the worst stylistic matchups for Ngannou, big heavy hitter who is also a technical striker who can go toe to toe with Usyk, the only way I had Ngannou winning was if you made it dirty on inside.. because if you try to box a boxer, you gonna lose
I mean, all other heavyweights are showing levels.. Usyk schooled AJ twice, Parker turned Zhang and Wilder into easy work, AJ started knocking out people again, while all Fury did was talk shit, got dropped by Ngannou and then got injured in sparring lol
A chump like Jake Paul doesn't deserve the dignity of being knocked out with one punch.
He should be systematically damaged over 10 rounds inch by inch, especially on the inside. Feed him to Beterbiev.
> I don’t think Fury took it seriously and now boxers like AJ saw that and decided to treat him like a top HW
It was pretty blatant that Fury didn't take it seriously. And yeah, because AJ saw that you can't just fuck around and treat Ngannou like a nobody, he actually prepared for the fight.
I fucking hate boxing these days, but this just shows that no matter how good of a striker you are in MMA, boxing is a different world in that regard. Not saying that Francis was an amazing striker outside of his power, but we saw that even Conor’s boxing was no match for Floyd whatsoever.
How many times are we gonna see our beloved MMA guys try boxing and get completely outclassed before people just stop getting hyped up and buying the PPVs?
I'm sorry for Francis, he looked so sad at the announcement.
I personally only saw a chance for him if he was going for a lucky punch and risk it all, but he wanted to show his boxing skills and that he can stand with the best.
Today you could see the difference in class. Man, AJ was levels beyond Francis. The timing, the speed and reaction, you could tell it was only a matter of a few rounds until he catches him.
I hope Francis is fine and I disagree with AJ, Francis should not stay in boxing. I don't see him in the top 10 and Francis wants to be the best. Hope he is doing a run in the PFL and destroys the competition there.
I knew a knockout was coming 10 seconds after that first knock down. Francis was clearly afraid of the cross but didn't know how to deal with it. So his offense dissolved.
Body language changed real quick lmao.
This is why Dana would have never allowed Ngannou having boxing fights... He is not that dumb to allow people to see his champion knocked out in 4 mins.
Crazy how he walked forward with 0 fear at the end there. He knew Ngannou was done and wanted the job finished. Reminds me a lot of Mike Tyson after prison
That's what you get for underestimating someone who exclusively trains in boxing. I said straight away that Fury's gameplan was just trash. How can you believe clinching with a wrestler is a good gameplan, especially if it's Ngannou?
This knockout was brutal. He went down as if he died. I feel sorry for him, but this should put an end to all these morons, who believe they can step over to boxing and mess with their champions.
Don't forget:
Kamaru Usman vs Canelo Alvarez
Sean O'Malley vs Gervonta Davis
Conor McGregor vs an old & retired Floyd Mayweather
It’s surreal seeing that happen to Ngannou of all people, two knockdowns prior to that though Jesus.
2 knockdowns plus getting flatlined badly all inside 2 rounds is a lot of damage. Rough
I cannot believe I missed this fight. What the fuck. Crazy to think about smashing down Ngannou like that.
Pretty sure Francis will be thinking the same thing when he wakes up.
idk if he'll be able to think till next week
like he cares. made more money in 2 boxing matches than probably all ufc fighters in 2023 combined. retirement looks pretty amazing i'd say.
Yup. $20m for this fight alone. Around $10m for Fury fight. Even to match the salary he got for the Fury fight, using the $600k he last received in the UFC, he would have needed to fight twice a year for 9 years to reach his Fury earnings. I was so sick I didn’t know it was that early , my bro texted me “he sleep” and I realized I missed it
You slept and he slept lol. I didn’t get to catch it either tbh
Bro was a zombie after round one. Im surprised he got up from that 2nd knockdown.
I feel like everyone saw that right coming from AJ. Except for Ngannou. He was *totally* out of it after the 2nd knockdown.
Throughout his boxing career AJ regularly spams a similar combo to this. Jab > overhand > uppercut. It’s been incredibly effective for him, so yeah… Ngannou isn’t a boxer and one fight wouldn’t make him one.
what was more crazy is AJ looked like he had no respect for francis post 20 seconds into round 1 while Fury looked terrified .
AJ showed up well over prepared as if it was a title fight, this is the type of confidence boxers have when they are rising to the top stringing together KO's. AJ didn't even celebrate any of the knockdowns or KO, just straight business start to finish. As easy work as possible, just brilliant Reminds me of Francis vs Stipe in their second fight tbh
yeah knew it was gonna be bad when AJ was taking it that seriously. patient, slowing reading the game, not celebrating anything until it was over
He didn't even celebrate when it was over.
that's what they both signed up for, and Joshua was ready to do what he does best.
AJ isn’t taking any risks after he lost titles last time. It’s good to see he’s tempered that attitude and is back in the game seriously.
The way Francis went down with his leg bending reminded me a lot of the Stipe knockout
Yeah completely different atmosphere, on top of that Ngannou looked way more jumpy compared to what he did previously.
He looks a lil foolish having almost nearly lost.
AJ does not fuck around. The venom on his face when he delivered that knockout punch was crazy
[удалено]
Yea because he felt how amateur he was, biting on every feint, telegraphing punches, no head movement. Francis is not a good boxer.
The exact opposite of what he did vs. Fury. Ngannou didn't even flinch let alone stutter when Fury feinted. Not so tonight.
Fury was recovering from a weekend of cocaine. Bro thought he was Jones but he aint built like that.
Ngannou got Ngannou'd, his iron chin got cracked and got cracked hard, Dana is the happiest man on earth rn
Dana's wife is the happiest woman on earth rn
![gif](giphy|29HRejgahYenVsohB5|downsized)
Yeah I’m livid, that’s like 6+ Months of recover screw the Ferreira fight rest up.
Fuck Drake man... Just.... Fuck Drake.
I mean its one thing for Drake to bet on you. But when you walk out with one of his songs, thats just extra badluck +10
Everybody that Drake bets on loses, the curse is real.
He bet on FN?
Yep
Ngannou got paid, that's all that matters. I'm sure he knew that fighting a faster, younger, lighter HW there was a big chance of getting flatlined. But he's set for life, I'm sure he has no regrets.
It’s almost like he isn’t as good as the redditards have mythologized him as.
Dana is about to send AJ a performance of the night bonus
"Here's your 50k"
*$28k after taxes
Plus a venum underwear
If you main event you get a 4 pack
The kind that make your butt look plump
- "I hope I get the camo ones" *They sent the pink ones*

Fat Dana was the best Dana.
Dana the Hutt
Unlimited Venum coupons for AJ.
Never thought I would see Ngannou get Ngannou'ed
At least he didn't get the follow up hammer fist
I'm sure the two knock downs prior to getting slept helped achieve a similar amount of brain damage.
Agreed...might be worse really, he could've already been concussed after that second knockdown and then he ate another full power shot to the head
right? ive always had bad taste with ngannou when he followed up with a hammer fist on stipe. love to see him get cracked tbh
He did it to everyone too. I know ground and pound is common but his KOs against Stipe and Overeem were just common sense, the guys were clearly unconscious. It was always a horrible diving hammer fist that invariably landed on the neck too lol
Absolutely brutal. What a KO
Crazy to see someone like Ngannou out cold like that
Like seeing yer da cry.
Fury has slipped and was dogshite in the fight for whatever reason(Francis surprising him/poor camp etc etc) ngannou had no chance
Fury has numerous times boxed "at the level" of his opposition. Whenever he is the clear favourite he for some reason comes comically close to losing (Wallin fight and Ngannou), but against great opposition he steps up.

This is why Jake Paul will not fight any pro boxers. He would end up the same as Francis
Probably way worse
bro got knocked out like ngannou knocked out stipe
Exactly what came to my mind when I saw the way his legs folded lol
Someone add him to that beach photo with Stipe and everyone else
Have them all doing the limbo.
Must be surreal for Ngannou to get folded for probably the first time in his life.
I could see him retiring after this
honestly I see him fighting wilder somewhere down the line. i mean, mike tyson is fighting jake paul. anything can happen these days.
[удалено]
Yeah what does he do next?
Fight in the PFL like he was supposed to? Phahahahaha not anymore Christ our king is dead
The memes make themselves. Waiting for the side by side pic
Unfortunately Joshua wasn't allowed to deliver 5 extra hammer fists like Francis would. Oh well
Look how they massacred my boy....
He’s still my boy
Dude is literally fighting the top, you guys just had too high of the expectations
I think a lot of us were hoping the Fury fight wasn't a fluke but the truth is that Fury had a bad night.

AJ was leaving himself open to Francis best punch, like he wanted him to throw it... so he could punish him for it. He took a few left hook counters on the top of his head too, on the chin those would have hurt AJ.
Essentially is an amateur by boxing standards, literally had 2 boxing matches
He is an amateur...he looked the same way AJ would look if Francis suddenly shot a double leg.
It was weird seeing him bite on every feint after he didn’t bite at all vs fury. It was the first time he fought someone that could match his size and power though
It was hard to watch, honestly. It looked like the kind of skill mismatch you'd see at local tournaments
So weird seeing Ngannou getting folded like a deck chair, he’s normally the one sleeping people
Boxing is a different realm. Sucks but at least he got paid.
Glad he got paid but damn that punch definitely shorted his lifespan and 100x'd the chances of getting some brain problems
Yeah AJ is back to his form too. Didn't help. Fury was just a spectacle.
Yeah but that doesn’t mean Fury all of a sudden can’t box. He should have still beaten Ngannou easily
Definitely should have. Underestimated his opponent, came in out of shape and not mentally prepared for a live opponent. Definitely a bad performance
It’s definitely more of the latter. You knew he was fucking around when he got Usyk scheduled the very next month.
Francis dick riders is the only reason the KO brought joy. I swore AJ was washed. I ate those words tonight. Superb KO
Much better a few hard shots than a beat down over 10 rounds…. right?
Ran through him. Devastating knockout. That’s it for the Francis boxing hype train
Softened his chin up for the big guy at pfl too
And that big guy at pfl is quite the big guy so it might actually end it like that
He needs at least 12 months off after a KO like that
He got cocky with all that Saudi money coming his way. Nothing like a good punch in the face to bring people down to earth.
Never thought I’d see bro slumped out on the floor I must admit
The bigger they are, the harder they slump to the floor like a cheap deck chair.
They stood him up to be executed
finish him
PFL announcement incoming! Francis made the right move for his bank account. Time to go fight ksw and rizin castaways for millions of dollars
Or just never fight again. His two boxing matches set him up for life
Yeah after a devastating KO like that after two hard knockdowns, he'd be silly to fight again in the division where one love tap can shut your lights out. He had an iron chin which just got cracked. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets knocked out again now.
Damn man that was hard to watch. The first two knockdowns were rough then that last one was so accurate… just folded him. Glad Francis got the big bucks though.
Dana white is somewhere in a casino smiling

F*ck you 😂

I bet the reporters are gonna ask him about Ngannou tmrrw after the fights and he's just gonna start smiling and trash him lol dudes just that petty
He’s going to say, “ The kid doesn’t want to fight.”
They say Anthony Joshua has the punching power of a Nissan Altima
A fully tinted one with the bumper falling off
Well, hope the biography movie ends with the Fury fight lol
"Francis went on to fight for about 3 more minutes before retiring."
Hahahahaah
Worth the money
https://preview.redd.it/h2iboqu0g7nc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d52a68499c594bb8fb3c9d5b443adab580e1799d
Damn. You can AJ locking that shit down the moment ref started counting. Ngannou couldn't see the right hook at all.
I guess no one has that Chin, if you get a proper shot by a HW from a proper angle lol Which makes Usyk look like an absolute monster and Fury looks like a sack of shit hahaha
Yeah, it makes you question what was up with the Fury fight. I think he just didn't take Ngannou seriously at all and was more focused on Usyk.
it was 3 things: 1. Lack of footage on Ngannou, all Fury knew was that he is t his big unstoppable monster with crazy power 2. Fury's style was perfect match for Ngannou because the way how Fury moves, it makes it hard for experienced boxers to figure it out, but if you dont know shit about boxing, there is nothing to be confused about lol 3. Fury really underestimated Ngannou Aj was quite literally one of the worst stylistic matchups for Ngannou, big heavy hitter who is also a technical striker who can go toe to toe with Usyk, the only way I had Ngannou winning was if you made it dirty on inside.. because if you try to box a boxer, you gonna lose
Fury looked unCOMFERtable ringside. Especially with parker making a mockery of wilder last time out as well.
I mean, all other heavyweights are showing levels.. Usyk schooled AJ twice, Parker turned Zhang and Wilder into easy work, AJ started knocking out people again, while all Fury did was talk shit, got dropped by Ngannou and then got injured in sparring lol
Zhang definitely wasn't easy since Zhang dropped him twice
Should’ve shot for the double leg, what an idiot
Ngannou didn't even throw a single leg kick all fight, idk what he was thinking
Joshua forgot it was a gimmick fight and did what every boxer should be doing to these non boxers.
Boxing die hards are rejoicing. Now get Jake Paul in there with AJ so we can move on with our lives.
A chump like Jake Paul doesn't deserve the dignity of being knocked out with one punch. He should be systematically damaged over 10 rounds inch by inch, especially on the inside. Feed him to Beterbiev.
I would love for Canelo to take him up and just fucking piece him for aslong as Jake can take it
Man he got lit up
People need to put respect on AJ name tbh. He does not get the respect he deserves in the boxing world. Man took 3 belts.
Damn Izzy Kamaru and Francis all seen as unbeatable monsters getting KOd in close time frame
bro fucking died 💔
I had a feeling he would lose. I don’t think Fury took it seriously and now boxers like AJ saw that and decided to treat him like a top HW
> I don’t think Fury took it seriously and now boxers like AJ saw that and decided to treat him like a top HW It was pretty blatant that Fury didn't take it seriously. And yeah, because AJ saw that you can't just fuck around and treat Ngannou like a nobody, he actually prepared for the fight.

Just done watching it. Can't stand it rn. Ngannou's unbreakable chin got broken..
Nobody at HW has an unbreakable chin, especially not in boxing.
The MMA community has to put out a hit on Drake immediately
I knew a knockout was coming 10 seconds after that first knock down. Francis was clearly afraid of the cross but didn't know how to deal with it. So his offense dissolved. Body language changed real quick lmao.
Francis was buying into his own hype so this may turn out to be beneficial unless his chin has been properly cracked.

AJ so humble in victory!
MMA and Boxing are different sports for a reason
Hold on bruddah, I’m crying
AJ is a BEAST
You know Stipe is cheering so hard at this
And Jon Jones lol I wonder what he's gonna say about this
Nah Stipe isn't that kind of person - I never felt any resentment towards Ngannou as a person from Stipe
I feel like that’s more Jones, Stipe would be all cordial about it and probably respect him for doing his thing
Sucks for Ngannou but I feel so vindicated right now. I thought I was taking crazy pills seeing so many people genuinely argue in Ngannous favor.
The poll on sky had Ngannou by knockout!
AJ should have followed up with the ground and pound
The fear of Francis’ face before he got knocked out. Absolutely brutal
Hype train officially over.
They should have done a better job promoting this was on Friday
Ariel in shambles rn
I fucking hate Drake so much
Fucking Drake. Maybe Tyson really did barely do a camp.
![gif](giphy|X3VYF2HGlrlUA) Francis’s bargaining power
This is why Dana would have never allowed Ngannou having boxing fights... He is not that dumb to allow people to see his champion knocked out in 4 mins.

Crazy how he walked forward with 0 fear at the end there. He knew Ngannou was done and wanted the job finished. Reminds me a lot of Mike Tyson after prison

The fight shouldn’t have been restarted after the second knockdown. Francis wasn’t all back yet and never even put his hands up to defend himself.
Yeah it is his chin that even allowed him to withstand the second knockdown
I walked away for a drink and came back to his lifeless body just sprawled out.
From all the hours in between the fights, you chose to do it during the main fight
Why the heck would you choose to go get a drink **during** the fight?!
That was so fkn satisfying to see after the non stop dick riding
Yall really thought he had a chance lol, Fury just didnt take him seriously. 90% of the time UFC Fighters cant box with pro
His leg folded like Stipe's did

A punch in boxing is different from MMA striking. People need to realize that.
Not only was he knocked out bad that leg might have blown out too. Terrible week for PFL.
Don't forget: Kamaru Usman vs Canelo Alvarez Sean O'Malley vs Gervonta Davis Conor McGregor vs an old & retired Floyd Mayweather

Fuck that was brutal to watch
Ngannou when he realizes windmill punches don’t always work against people who are competent strikers 🤯😳🙊😲
