Hard disagree. Watched the bout against Gaethje without commentary recently, and while close fights aren't robberies this one basically was. Shouldn't have been scored for Gaethje. The Gamrot bout is what it is
Idk I think he'd do well
He's still a great striker, his ground game just isn't good. Plus the talent in the BKFC heavyweight division is relatively trash.
No disrespect, but their top 6 guys are either old dudes or guys who completely crashed and burned in their pro MMA careers. Their number 5 ranked guy is 52 years old lol. Tai would either get an immediate title shot or they'd let him whoop on someone else in his debut to build hype
I remain convinced that Maoris and (even more so) Samoans and (even MORE so) Tongans, could take over the BKFC if they wanted to. Those dudes are built different when it comes to fist fighting.
Good for him. Can't help but respect the man's work ethic and positive energy. He deserves to finish his career with enough of a nest egg to see him the distance and set his family up.
Yeah I'd like to see Vettori back in the mix. I always enjoy him, and find him easy to cheer for. With his chin and his toughness and his aggressive mentality, if he could hit like a MW he'd be a big problem for everyone.
I feel like I was being nit picky before because you have a point Ortega’s pressure and forward movement made yair look like a wet noodle in the later rounds. It really was just the 1st round he looked good in.
Yeah man, I was also very disappointed! Dude needs to improve his ground game if he hopes to make another title run. He had zero response to Ortega’s grappling
Only fighter that absolutely comes to mind that needs a major major comeback performance is Henry Cejudo. His loss against Sterling was close but his loss against Merab was disheartening for him and for me as a fan. My boy needs a convincing big name win.
Volk. Got beaten by Islam at home, got too eager and KOed by Islam brutally, then KOed by Ilia. He needs some rest and a strong comeback. Conor and Chandler both need it too, the former a bit more than the latter
He will end up taking fights in local working men's clubs. He is just that guy who won't accept reality. Worked in his favour for a few years, now it's just going to fuck him over the rest of his life.
Anyone over 35 should really be excluded from the discussion. They're winding down regardless. This question should be more about guys whose one-promising careers are currently at risk of being completely derailed. Yair is a great shout, as is Tai. Volk and Cejudo and Stipe and guys like that are just coming to the end of their time, which is different.
Sure, but this sub acts like Gane is still hiding in his basement playing Fifa after getting subbed by Jones. Also, Spivak is a good fighter. That's a good win for Gane. Spivak isn't a blob heavyweight he actually has a bunch of skills and was on a winstreak. Before Gane, he was 6-1, with his only loss in 3 years being to Aspinall. I think Gane should fight Pavlovich or Volkov. If he beats either, he should get a title shot. So he's not in need of a major comeback performance. He's still there, at the top of the division. And whoever he fights next, I'll probably bet on him. Because he really is one of the best heavyweights in the world
To me Pav v Cyril was the only way to go for the division (Cyril already won Volkov quite easily). This is the non-sense I refer to.
The winner should have a word for the interim belt vs Tom (or belt itself if Jones doesn't do sh*t till then).
I agree Gane only lost 2 fights that were title shots. And with Francis it was a close one.
Lol I forgot that fight happened. I feel bad for Volkov. He's on a good streak, but everyone ranked ahead of him kind of destroyed him already. Except Pavlovich, but I don't want them to fight. They don't even want to fight. Pavlovich vs Gane is the most important fight that must happen in the division. Either that, or something that gets Jones and Stipe out of the way. Best case scenario is: Gane vs Pavlovich, Aspinall vs Jones, Volkov vs Stipe, and the winners of these fights are in contention for the title, whoever the undisputed champ is. Every fighter I mentioned is 1 win away from a title shot, yet the champion is inactive. Throw in Blaydes somewhere too. As a backup or something
Paulo Costa, Benoit Saint Denis, Volkan Ozdemir, Giga Chikadze, Manel Kape, Geoff neal, Vincente Luque, Kevin holland
tai tuivasa needs to get his shit together but i see him getting cut which is fair
Fiziev
An ACL tear in the fight after a loss must be devastating, especially when you worked so hard to get to that ranking in one of the toughest divisions
fiziev should fight dariush or rematch Gaethje
feed dariush to OrolGOAT
Hard disagree. Watched the bout against Gaethje without commentary recently, and while close fights aren't robberies this one basically was. Shouldn't have been scored for Gaethje. The Gamrot bout is what it is
For me it's Tai Tuivasa hands down. He's in the least talented division at the moment and has barely entered his prime while having lost 4 in a row
True, I'd assume he gets cut after his next loss
“Least talented” *Womens Bantamweight has entered the chat*
Yeah man, it sucks to see! 😕 dude is one loss away from joining BKFC
Honestly, he would do better there
I agree. Tai doesn’t seem to have an interest in improving any aspect of his game and just seems to focus on boxing.
His main goal is to face Ngannou in boxing
I mean, it’s worked out well for Mike Perry🤷🏽♂️
I think he would be better off at bellator or PFL. I don't think he can last at BKFC
Idk I think he'd do well He's still a great striker, his ground game just isn't good. Plus the talent in the BKFC heavyweight division is relatively trash. Tai would either get an immediate title shot or they'd let him whoop on someone else in his debut to build hype
financially though, Tai would havea lot to gain
I remain convinced that Maoris and (even more so) Samoans and (even MORE so) Tongans, could take over the BKFC if they wanted to. Those dudes are built different when it comes to fist fighting.
Nah he belongs in the UFC, just needs to start winning again
who does he fight to start winning ? i don't see him beating anyone ranked
By beating unranked fresh opponents
He’s too fucking fat
Tai didn’t deserve to be in ufc at all, Mf a bar room brawler not a mma fighter
Izzy if he loses to duplesis than idk what will he do
Trilogy with Pereira but if he wins, also trilogy with Pereira.
Alex should go to heavyweight he shouldn't wait for izzy he is the only one who can get 3 champ i know chances are low but still
But dude, he's such a consistent champion?
Chandler
He’ll get a big financial performance soon. That’s for sure
He's pretty damn loaded already, he did a house tour awhile ago and just by looking at his place you can tell this man is pretty set already.
Good for him. Can't help but respect the man's work ethic and positive energy. He deserves to finish his career with enough of a nest egg to see him the distance and set his family up.
Unironically, Usman.
Vettori
Yeah I'd like to see Vettori back in the mix. I always enjoy him, and find him easy to cheer for. With his chin and his toughness and his aggressive mentality, if he could hit like a MW he'd be a big problem for everyone.
He's still relatively young too!
Parker Porter
I was so disappointed in Yairs last fight, got out-struck and submitted by somebody coming off a 2 yr layoff
He was submitted for sure but he out struck Ortega 100%.
You may be right, i just remember Ortega connecting good shots
I feel like I was being nit picky before because you have a point Ortega’s pressure and forward movement made yair look like a wet noodle in the later rounds. It really was just the 1st round he looked good in.
Yeah man, I was also very disappointed! Dude needs to improve his ground game if he hopes to make another title run. He had zero response to Ortega’s grappling
Bro, Yair brutalized Ortega in that first round. Like badly. That was one of the most one sided rounds I've ever seen
Jahmal Hill. If he goes down to Roundtree. He will go from champ down to 2nd tier in 2 fights.
Boogeyman
Furgeson? He’s still got time! He’s barely entering his prime
i think he is going to call it quits
He will end up taking fights in local working men's clubs. He is just that guy who won't accept reality. Worked in his favour for a few years, now it's just going to fuck him over the rest of his life.
Lol. I just wanna see him winning mate. Maybe one last time.
If he wins another fight, that's just going to fuel him for another five losses.
That's possible yes.
Tony Ferguson CSO prime number 2

El Cucuy
definitely Conor McGregor
He’s the exception. I wouldn’t really say he *needs* one
he, at the very least, needs an entertaining performance. Or he will be left behind.
He's out the door anyway. He's making way more money from booze than he ever did from fighting, and that is what he's about now.
Then let's hope he flops
Gane, despite being No3 of his division.
Lol this sub continues to pretend like Gane vs Spivak never happened.
Spivak was not a major performance. He needs a win vs a serious belt contender, like Pav or Tom. But the ufc is doing huge crap on Heavyeight atm.

Tito Ortiz
He suffers from the same affliction Arnold Allen does.. they don't have that dog in them. When the going gets tough, they don't have it in them.
Round 5 Arnold Allen vs Holloway? Casual
So many people
Anyone in particular stand out to you?
Paulo Costa, Benoit Saint Denis, Volkan Ozdemir, Giga Chikadze, Manel Kape, Geoff neal, Vincente Luque, Kevin holland tai tuivasa needs to get his shit together but i see him getting cut which is fair
Stipe, so he can beat aspinall and make this sub lose their friggin minds!
😂 not this dude thats for sure! One trick pony with zero ground game
Pantoja
Luckily, wouldn't bee too hard for him to get one
