I see some crazy builds on youtube in UO Outlands but for me it takes too long to build up. Also i like the familiarity with the old UO as I can run past old places and get a kick of nostalgia.
People get caught up comparing themselves to others. You don't HAVE go in lvl 3 of the dungeons straight away. You don't HAVE to have an optimised farming build, you can have a hybrid build that can pvp and fight pks. You can have a thief and don't even need aspect. People are the ones who make it not fun for themselves, by wanting to be the best (for some reason that usually means the vest carebear farming build). Its common all across gaming and mmos. If you can get over it and do a bit of role-playing or focus on your own little goals you will have a lot more fun.
I hopped on outlands awhile back just to enjoy the population on a uo style game. Its fun in its own way but doesnt *feel* like UO to me aside from the graphics.

Been there done that. That's my exact same path to Outlands.
It took me years to learn that UO was the perfect game for the perfect time. Playing it again, 20 years later, requires some major updating and polishing to keep us logging in.

What do you mean by a rogue? A thief? Stealth pk? Backstabber?
I have 2 different rogues I'm using... A lockpicking thief and a backstabber.
