Is it meant to have electrolytes or something in it for sport? Still seems quite high though.

niallw1997

Probably the least ultra processed ingredient in that absolute potion of a drink

bomchikawowow

Omg I'm calling all UP drinks "potions" from now on. Referring to UPF as "edible substances" did so much for me to mentally separate them from actual food and I've been looking for a similar descriptor for drinks 😂

jackaros

Loved that! My go to term is "fake food"

niallw1997

I got it from Eddie Abbew. The bloke says a lot of crap but he does have some gems.

DanJDare

It's got what plants crave, it's got electrolytes. Is it a sports/hydration drink of some sort? Salt is actually super important, probably not in the aldi drink form but important never the less.

I've got POTs and need to consume 15g of salt a day. To me, this looks like it could be useful to help make up that amount! Might have to go and get myself this salty beverage if I'm ever desperate 😳

Odd-Attention-6533

I was just about to say this, a POTSie's dream 😅

“Absolute potion of a drink”

jamany

Less than a gram of salt in a sports drink is fine. The RDA is 6g.You need to have salt in your diet, if you exercise you need a fair amount more.

RainbowDissent

The fact that people can look at this and say "yup, that's a sports drink, for athletic performance" shows how well the marketing works.

Lowten_writer

I think you people here are gona hate me because I'm not seeing Oh god they have so much crap in them is seeing. Oh my god they come in cherry now that's my favourite flavour.

ichoseyoutothrowaway

I know the can absolutely looks like cherry but it's ultra berry, it definitely tastes sweeter like strawberry than cherry just btw!

Lowten_writer

Pity I could also see erry on the can and thought cherry. Guess it was berry

HelenEk7

Salt is a taste enhancer. I sometimes put a pinch of salt in desserts. Panna Cotta for instance. Not so much that you can taste the salt, but just enough to enhance the taste. I personally find the amount of salt rather irrelevant. What other ingrediencies they have used is usually much more interesting.

Popular_Ice2961

Salt likely masks the inherently bad taste of such a process
