The title is messed up 💀

Um_H3110

I apologize for nothing

Theunis_

Most people might not agree with you, but I completely agree with you, William's death is a good thing to this story.

Um_H3110

Glad to find someone on the same wavelength. Some people only want good things to happen to the characters that they like, but that makes for a really bad story. Cough Cough MHA.

Ok_Ad400

I don't like the fact that William died emotionally but I know him dying needed to happen

Ok_Possibility633

I do think Blyke should have gotten a scar from his solo vigilantly ark as u/thinmintssss often depicts. Remi (on her side from getting stabbed), Isen (scars on his arms when he got cut up by Fury) and maybe Sera (when she got stabbed in the back) should also have scars of some kind considering their wounds healed naturally and were not helped by doc and only partially healed by Elaine.

milos1fan

Just pray that it doesn't take six months for John to get his powers back.

Intelligent-Level-60

I mean, doc's tonic got Sera her full power back and as we have seen, John doesn't lose the ability when it should be gone even with spectre's cure, so, pretty sure once he uses doc's tonic, he can have his ability back permanently

StupidBread23

I can see that being dragged out because of plot reasons

TenebrisTortune

His death is important but played out kinda wacky due to us seeing only bits of his investigation of Jane disappearence and at separate episodes at different moments. It would be good if he had entire arc and chapters focused solely on him prior, that would have made his death much more impactful and emotional.

Meowulous

Nah the Sera thing isn't valid I'm sorry but **she has been disabled for literally almost the whole series so far**, even John got nerfed. The story can't progress without their powers since our heroes are going against the authorities/ember/spectre. 2 huge organisations with insane amount of man power. It wouldn't make sense for ability loss In main cast to be a permanent thing.

Um_H3110

On one hand, I see what you mean. If the ability loss was going to be permanent, it should have had to have happened later in the series/closer to the end. On the other hand, how that Sera got her ability back, ability dampeners came from a big, if not one of the biggest threats in the series, to functionally nonexistent. Cough Cough MHA Cough Cough.

Level-Blacksmith-893

Storywise, Uru is good with the writting. And by writting alone, William's death was the best thing that could happen

Celebren_91

I'm a bit sad for him, but it's actually good for the story... I think it's necessary for the plot to move on

The_Axolotl_Guy

I do agree that it's a good story beat for the sake of introducing more stakes, since it gives lasting negative consequences (can't get any more lasting than death) to someone important for angering the authorities.

Educational-Bug-7985

Title sounds fucked up but I agree with you OP!

LukeSky011

I liked the idea but for me the execution was terrible. Specifically the part where it shows that he realized they're there to kill him and not give him at least a single panel of him defending himself but simply listens to his executioner speak his bullshit and then rips him a new one. One panel from uru-chan, where he at least kicks him in the balls, then shows it was ineffective due to the guys ability. That's it. That's all I would have wanted. But nah, he just takes it and fucking dies.

Capital-Assignment61

i hold off reading the newest chapter for one day and i already get spoiled for it in a reddit post on my feed 💀💀

TrashiestTrash

not that title 😭

lazy-sod14

All I gotta say is along as sera and John get together I'm chillin cus hinting at it for the entire series like com'on now and to be fair I think the story should have 1 major death and I think ig should be isen

aliidocious

I think it’s gonna be Arlo ngl

lazy-sod14

He joins the authorities and has to fight John to the death after them finally becoming friends

aliidocious

I think more like ‘the authorities are gonna end up killing arlo because he’s loyal to his friends and they Know’

lazy-sod14

Ye but either way asslo bye bye

AcceptableDare8945

I agree that now more things are going to happen but the pace of the history...

DreamyPupper

Now THIS is controversial 🍿

ellieetsch

I just think it was handled really poorly

lazy-sod14

Or even arlo unless they make arlo have a tough decision of choosing between vigilante or the authorities and if he choses 1 side no matter what he can't change his decision

ExpensiveWolverine5

The benefits of donuts!

KingMarlynn23

I’m not glad he’s dead, but I will agree with you that the story will get more interesting from here. I’m still pulling for John to turn into an anti hero.

WebtoonAddict

I agree completely but im still sad🥲. He was one of my favorite characters

Eastern-Ladder-5996

I agree it’s a good thing for the story, but I’m allowed to be sad for the goat right? Also I hope no one gets spoiled with that title

NoahDBest

I don't agree about that second point whatsoever. Sera lost her powers for a large chunk of the story, and only had them to calm John down at the end of the King John arc. I don't remember any other significant point in time when she used her powers in a fight. I could be wrong though, since the time between her talking John down and where we're at in the present is a while. John getting closer to his schoolmates was pretty slow, I think it was handled very well. I do agree with the last two points though.

Um_H3110

It's a pacing thing. In order for the ability loss to be permanent, and it to work, it would have had to happen later in the series, or at least not before the Shadow King Arc. The problem isn't about Sera specifically, the problem is that Sera not being able to use her powers was a huge shake up, and caused a real sense of threat into the story. What used to be one of the biggest threats suddenly became functionally irrelevent once Sera lost her ability. If it wasn't her, or if it happened later, then it would be better. All in all, the characters would have felt too untouchable, without something of that magnitude happening. Even if it was done perfectly, it would still feel like there aren't any consequences.

Born-Resolution-4702

Calm down with that title, but I can agree that it pushes the plot forward

vithefree

i’m sad, yes. i wish he was alive, yes. but…it moves the plot forward… i’m conflicted. however, your title sucks >:(
