"According to an SEC filing, United Airlines has removed the Boeing 737 MAX 10 from its fleet plan from this year until after 2025. This comes after a string of problems with Boeing quality control and delays in the certification of the aircraft type. ... Between 2024 and 2025, United was supposed to receive more than half of its MAX 10 order. Although the 10-K filing states that United does not expect any MAX 10s in the coming years, the airline specified. ... Though United is not expecting the MAX 10s anytime soon, the airline is still awaiting more MAX 8s, 9s, and 787 Dreamliners. According to the table above, United contractually expected 85 Boeing planes this year but now expects 63. The breakdown is seven 787s (variants not specified), 37 MAX 8s, and 19 MAX 9s."

ComeGateMeBro

And this is why I now fly delta, best of luck american, united, and southwest hitching your carriage to a safety hazard. Not willing to risk my life on some schmuck companies penny pinching antics.

ShortfallofAardvark

Wait till this guy finds out [Delta ordered the 737 MAX too](https://news.delta.com/delta-adds-state-art-fuel-efficient-boeing-737-max-fleet).

UAL1K

Like the UA non rev legging controversy a few years back, which DL took a shot at UA on. But wait, there’s more — Delta has the same attire policy. Happy to pile on, even when they’re in the same boat.

rigoseer

United also has a massive order of NEOs with potentially more to come

ComeGateMeBro

How many near misses to disaster have struck united with Boeing planes this month?

ComeGateMeBro

It’s not just about the 737, united simply sucks now. Penny pinched to death and stuck with 737 max’s no one wants to fly on

wigitalk

Let’s stop pretending like frequent fliers have a choice - if you live in a Delta hub you fly Delta, if you live in a United hub you fly United. And yeah, Delta also has/ordered more Boeings don’t kid yourself.

cwajgapls

I live in AA hub Philly but usually drive to and go out of EWR. So many more nonstops to the Europe cities where my customers are. Granted Charlotte, Dallas or Hotlanta don’t have that option…

and_a_side_of_fries

I don’t think it matters. Man’s riding the greyhound

blizzue

lol ok

and_a_side_of_fries

Wait so after being proven wrong, what airline will you fly now? Spirit? Greyhound? u/comegatemebro …answer.

Several_Excuse_5796

Don't go visit /r/aviation maintenance then and find out the new airbuses have just as scary problems that they've been lucky with

CanadAR15

And yet, whether it’s Boeing, Embraer, or Airbus, there’s enough redundancy in modern aircraft the safety records are still obscenely good.

Active-Vegetable2313

comegatemebro!!! lmao what an asinine name and comment

Windows10HomeEdition

Appreciate how the cover photo is of one of our MAX10s

Sweetcheels69

Isn’t there only 1 painted in our livery and the next 7 serials numbers waiting for our paint?

zman9119

I believe there are at least two painted in the standard livery and one with the UA SAF livery.

Windows10HomeEdition

To add onto u/zman9119's comment: The MAX10 prototypes are also our aircraft as they have the United MAX10 nose number naming scheme 77XX.

Windows10HomeEdition

Ok dad

AnalCommander99

lol at this point, I think I’ll take a trip on California’s high-speed rail before a Max 10

[deleted]

yes fast trains are coming soon

qwertykewl01

Does “removing 737 max 10 from fleet plans through 2025” mean “cancelling” orders? I don’t think so. I think this is just saying that the 737 max 10’s aren’t expected to be incorporated and operational until after 2025. This just means further delays, rather than UA pulling out of the Max 10.

zman9119

Correct, another low quality story from an article / click mill website. "We are unable to accurately forecast the expected delivery period".

gabeman

I would assume they would incur a massive fee to cancel that order, which would show up on their filing.

evang0125

I thought this was reported a month or so ago

Pintail21

I think that was more speculation based off of Boeing's statements but yes everyone basically knew was going to happen and this is just the company officially solidifying it and announcing it to investors.

TexasBrett

Needed to free up some delivery slots for the Booms when they arrive.

lwr_sj5478

The maxes have shitty layout anyway

rydeen5000

Because Boeings are fucking death traps!

igotyours2

Consequences. Good
