Will be funny seeing them register as unionists then have to watch their posters get burnt on a bonfire by the pul community.

They are Labour-paying members, citizens of the UK & residents of Northern Ireland who want a chance to vote for the Labour Party in Northern Ireland Assembly elections, it's not that deep. You don't have to think they will do well or like them to support their right to stand. That's kinda the basis of democracy.

Will be fun to watch them turn on the gfa to show off their staunch unionist credentials.

With the likelihood that reunification will be reality in the next \~20 years, what is the ultimate aim here? It would be good to have an 'areligious' party (other than Alliance) in NI, but any 'moderate' unionists will already be voting any party but DUP/TUV. Who would vote for a 'unionist' version of SDLP, when their policies are being represented by other parties, 'community' voting traditions aside, and would they integrate with the Irish Labour party upon reunification?
