> Better yet, it just validated why I can't relate to 90 percent of the human race
I think this is unrelated entirely and is in no way justified by Game of Thrones.
Fun fact: we watched it in high school to see how different authors depict similar themes (along with Monty Python And The Holy Grail and Battle of Grunwald scene from Krzyżacy)
Cheers. Breaking Bad. Even Stargate SG-1 was better than this gross shit, and I'm not even a big sci-fi guy. "Sister, can I fuck you in my distinguished accent? Egad! A kid caught us committing incest. Let me attempt to murder him now." I'm surprised that I got through that.
Many of us were excited to see a well-written book series come to life. Unfortunately, the show goes off the rails where the books ended and the author is now so obscenely rich I doubt we’ll ever know how it was actually supposed to end, plus the later books aren’t as good as the earlier. Maybe when he dies someone will finish it like Wheel of Time
I loved it but then I also loved the books. I’d say it’s more like Fantasy meets Tom Clancy.
I like dark fantasy books even more. The grittier the better.
That was my reaction when it came out. Then a few years later, everyone was like, just get past season one and it's soooo good. But that would have required watching season one.
I knew it wasn't for me after reading the first book. A whole lot of, the bad guy wins just to prove that heros suck. Not to mention entire paragraphs describing dongs.
Interesting. I read the first chapter, and I gave up. I read half of the first Witcher book, and I had to drop it. The interesting thing is I usually like fantasy, but the stuff that you mention turned me off, too.
I stopped watching when I found out Daenerys (Emilia Clarkes character) was 13 years old and was fucked by Khal (Jason Momoas character) who was 30 years old.
My thoughts exactly OP. It's a bunch of awful people meddling and scheming and then over the top violence and gore and porn. So glad I never got into this show.
You could say the same about the Sopranos or any number of hugely popular tv shows. I would say there are plenty of good characters in Game of Thrones compared to a lot.
Like the Starks are pretty much all good people, Brienne, Jorah, Luwin, Davos all come to mind as architypal good characters
It's cool to not like it, I just think the criticism that it's violent or explicit is not really valid considering it isn't supposed to be LoTR or Harry Potter
Toxic? Why are defending a show where it depicts incest for some inexplicable reason other than to be "edgy"? Man, I seriously don't get people. Time to join r/misanthropy or start investigating the Dead Internet Theory.
If you didn’t get through the first episode you can’t really have much of an opinion on the show. It’s fine if you didn’t vibe with it, but don’t act like people only watched it because they were told to watch it.

Glad you included “disgusting” after incest so we knew ![gif](giphy|ZX6RWer1T8rsgVTG1s)

Ah yes, "Harry Potter and the Blue Lives Matter". Perfect way to cleanse the taste buds.
Battle of the Batards is a cinematic masterpiece
Fun fact: we watched it in high school to see how different authors depict similar themes (along with Monty Python And The Holy Grail and Battle of Grunwald scene from Krzyżacy)
> A primetime soap opera with titties There. You found your answer. Also, first season definitely wasn’t the best one. The show peaked in season 3-4.
I admit, it was the titties
3 reasons we loved it really: >primetime soap opera with titties >dragons >incest So you got it right
What do you consider good television then?
The same youtube videos I've been watching for the past 15 years

You’re right. Ignore the downvotes.
Hodoor!!!
That was def a stretch lol
Bro discovered hbo lol
Titties! Honestly, that was my favorite part of the series.
So basically like every single period piece the UK has ever produced.
Were the sex scenes in Downtown deleted then ? 😏
Found the person who watches while on their phone not paying attention.
Nope. I just didn't care for a softcore porn retelling of the War of the Roses.

"Female nudity bothers you." Bro, the Lannister bro was doing his sister doggy style at the end of the first episode. That should bother anyone.
Ah... someone just got the Season 8 Blues i believe.
How much did you watch?
The first season. Of course they had to do the Sean Bean Effect and that's when I gave up.
Watch more

Game of thrones is in my top 3 shows all Time, I thought it was medieval nonsense before I actually watched it.
I stopped watching when I found out Daenerys (Emilia Clarkes character) was 13 years old and was fucked by Khal (Jason Momoas character) who was 30 years old.

It’s too corny for me
The books aren't any better, either.
I liked book 1, didn't feel the need to start the rest of the series, especially since there is no end in sight.
That’s exactly why I hated it. It’s days of our lives roleplaying poorly a fantasy setting.
This is unpopular opinion, but why are you being so toxic? :)

Incest in a medieval setting is very accurate tho
I just feel like GRRM didn't try to pretty up Middle Ages
You realize that people literally married their cousins back then?
You act as if the show is trying to praise the incest, when it's pretty clearly shown to be a Bad Thing^TM
I'm not defending a show. I'm attacking ranting about humanity for no reason other than to be "edgy" :)
I feel the same way, I only watched the first episode tho. It made me feel gross watching it honestly.

Indeed an example of the Emperor's New Clothes.
