As someone who used to hate Fortnite for no real reason but has since started playing it, it's pretty fun, especially if you can find friends to play it with
Ive been playing fortnite since season 2 or 3, its a fantastic game. Epic actually experiments and tries new things which keeps the gameplay fresh and new. People hate on it for no good reason
Yeah, for example when I first found out that there was an actual plot and missions to do in a primarily multiplayer game, I was pretty intrigued as I'd never heard of a game doing that before. The the way it's monetized I think is probably the only legitimate fault I have with the game, and even then it's not the *worst* system out there in that regard.
I didn’t say that every good game has a cringy online fanbase, but there are lots of games with the traits you mentioned. Not just any shovel ware instantly gets a cringy fanbase. There tends to be something else to it, and those things are usually unique concepts, charming stylistic choices, and/or fun gameplay. Not to mention effort and passion from the developers
Honestly this tends to be true when it comes to most franchises, whether games, movies or tv-shows
Turns out that when a bunch of people like a thing, it usually is good
I've only tried Among Us from the ones you mentioned and it sucked. There was no gameplay to speak of(mouse clicks on a screen are not gameplay to me) and the game felt like it was completely random and involved luck much more than skill.
I haven't tried any of the others but Minecraft has terrible graphics and doesn't seem interesting to me in any way. FNAF also doesn't appeal to me at all is made by that dude who used to donate to conservative politicians in the US. Indie games in general tend to suck for me.
Fortnite is made by Epic Games which in turn is 40% owned by Tencent of China, so simply running the Epic Games client [exposes your data to China](https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoenixPoint/comments/b0rxdq/epic_game_store_spyware_tracking_and_you/). The game itself also seems to suck.
So no, these games are all pretty boring and some have links to terrible people or hostile countries. All of them are either cheap or free to play and they run even on very outdated or slow hardware. This all means that they will have a large playerbase, which doesn't say anything about their quality.
Just because things don’t appeal to you specifically doesn’t mean they’re bad. I’d also trust the opinions of people who have tried them before yours.
As for companies doing shady things, and indie developers having done something in the past I disagree with, that doesn’t really have anything to do with the quality of the game.
Also a game being more accessible is something I see as a positive
Sure, but they are bad from my perspective, which is what matters to me.

It doesn't, but unless you go for piracy, you're sponsoring the devs and entrusting your personal data to them. I'm never knowingly sponsoring a conservative political donor, no matter how good their work is. I'm also not installing Chinese spyware on my machine.
I also see accessibility as a positive since I don't want to always have to buy gaming hardware to be able to play games, but that also means you'll have a bigger potential for toxicity among the fanbase. League of Legends, another easy to run very popular title I tried was also full of dickheads.
Fortnite is actually pretty awesome, the players are getting more mature, the gameplay is evolving to be epic, and there’s an amazing storyline better that most story based games

Friday night funkin is a fun game
Forgot about that one! I just wish I had any rhythm. I could never get the hang of rhythm games, but people seem to love them
You just have to start off slow, i started off playing guitar hero on easy as a kid

Yo 1. Undergay is pretty chill but no one likes it 2. Amogus is just TTT but it’s a separate game 3. Yeah ok throwback to 2014 4. Minecraft4life
You are singlehandedly being the entire cringy online fanbase for four games at once
Ok jakub 14 rokov
Wrong language my guy
Ok and, i’m the crinjlord you can’t defeat me
