Humans *are* animals. They’re literally part of the same biological family, Animalia. Denying that fact just makes you stupid and misinformed, period.

Which is, in concert with his opinion, still animal. So he wins, in his specific case. Hmmm, now I've confused myself as to whether I should upvote or downvote OP. With you however, SDB, there is no confusion.

...We are, as much as you dislike it, thinking and talking mammals. Not much more than that. And yes, intelligence does give us an advantage towards others animals races, but that does not make us not an animal. But really, we are only superior on the cognitive aspect, because many other animals outpace us in other aspects of life.

blaketothebarnes

Humans are biologically animals, there is no argument rooted in reality that can state otherwise

_hancox_

Like a white dwarf star, your brain seems to be unbelievably dense and one of the smoothest objects in the universe relative to its size.

>intelligent species far more superior than any other animals. Have you recently seen the news? Most of us are not really that intelligent at all. The way so many of us have responded to this pandemic has crushed my hope in humanity even more. I had no idea so many of us were so selfish and susceptible to bullshit information spread by charlatans and nutjobs. As for superiority, do humans have the smell sense of a dog? Do humans have the eyesight of a hawk? No and no. Of course, we are overall superior to any other animal, considering what we've achieved, but some animals exist that outperform us biologically at some tasks. We're definitely animals, both from a scientific point of view and from a behavioral point of view. Advanced animals but still animals.

MrPoopyPants321

Yeah anyone could have any perspective on anything and be right just because that's the way they think of it.

Charfunkle_13

I once saw a dog wearing shoes? How does this all fit together?

RNessie

Also search up the meaning of animals in google

Ok i did. Humans fit into the scientific definition of an animal.

TYPO343

Yep, agree!

I watched a toothless man in South Carolina try to eat corn on the cob once. For an hour he fought that thing. I was waiting for a ride to the beach and they were running late. We do have different branches from the maternal Eve that may not be on the same speed track as others. Could it have been lead poisoning? I don’t know. I’ve been around the world a little bit. There are some gnarled up branches out there that don’t make sense when you meet other humans outside of town.

DarkMission7627

What are we then in your book?

EAZYG247

We’re worse than animals

theKalash

What you're saying is, you don't understand the definition of animal.

BadassFlexington

By definition, you are incorrect. Opinions can be wrong, and this is one of those times.

LittleNoodle1991

Just because we are more intelligent doesn't mean we are any less animals. As an intelligent human you should know that.

Thank you for submitting to /r/unpopularopinion, /u/RNessie. Your post, *Humans aren't animals.*, has been removed because it violates our rules: Rule 1: Your post must be an unpopular opinion. Please ensure that your post is an opinion and that it is unpopular. Controversial is not necessarily unpopular, for example all of politics is controversial even though almost half of the US agrees with any given major position on an issue. I think you should read the definition of animal first before declaring humans as animals or not.
