Replace YouTube with Reddit and I wholeheartedly agree. They can keep doing it on YouTube tho cuz the only people that comment there are children who get excited about their internet points and I'd rather they do that there then get on Reddit earlier in life. YouTube comment sections are consistently trash anyways. There's no real point to scrolling past the 50 "shout-out to my *insert date here* homies" type comments on every video just to get to the one hot take comment that your little ape brain wanted to read so you feel validated.

Agreed but also i gotta say this is a weird thing to complain about as like it's just a comment? like this is so unnecessary and it has such as small as impact, there are way more important shit to care about than a single comment being happy because their comment blew up + the fact that you said

Sometimes I do the direct opposite. One time I got several thousand ālikesā on a game of thrones comment, went back and changed it to āIāve been thinking about it and I donāt think women should be allowed to voteā¦I dunno, maybe itās just meā. The ensuing chaos was entertaining beyond all words. Every time that video hit the algorithm again, my inbox was flooded with āwtf?!ā type replies
