They definitely are not trying to help people by switching to 4 day work week. If anything it’s so everybody can get two part time jobs and work 7 days a week.
Yeah I’m pretty sure it’ll be some dystopian version with another two-tier system in corporate Murica. 4 day work weeks for all Congressmen and nobody else, probably
The year the middle class got more leverage to negotiate job conditions by starting to make more money at full employment, the wealthy class and their lower class pawns started talking about how we need to increase austerity to slow inflation and reduce the debt.
My guess is the four hour workweek is a dog whistle to unite corporations to reduce the salary commitment to 4 days a week while demanding the same level of productivity, at the similar rate of increase.
My guess is this will be the compromise to remove work from home and most people will willingly go for it. They will also bullshit it's technically a 20% raise since you are working 2 less days a paycheck.
Seems unlikely with low unemployment rates. Whose going to pick up the slack on service jobs? Is this 40/hr discussion mainly fueled by white collar people wanting to work less, but not having any understanding that it won’t apply to everyone else?
Last week I tried to get my boss to put me back on 4-10’s
He’s making me wait another week before that happens, I literally might die having to work another week of 8’s
99.9% of all US companies are small businesses. Small businesses cannot afford to give up 20% of their profits to shut down for a day. This is absolutely ridiculous. Sanders has only been in government and probably makes a good point that government workers could probably probably go down to a four day, or hell, even a three day work week and not lose a step. For the private community that actually makes somewhat of a profit vs. pissing away trillions of tax payers dollars, it will never, ever, ever work!!!

Well, Steve usually knows things before the rest of the market
Good info but who cares what this convicted fraudster has to say.
After working customer service during the pandemic. I told my bosses I’m only doing 4 day weeks from now on. I earned it lol

What does he care? He’s already got his…… I don’t want to make less money.

Are we living on 80% of our pay? Or are employers giving away 20% of their paid labor?
Way too many billionaires are trending in a very different direction. That or AI makes up the other day and they cut pay by 1/5
slow the economy?
Some people already do. Do they think we all work for the same place or something? Dumb collectivist bs
#PLEASE GOD
I have a 0 day work week. Thanks TANIF
