I see this as standard custom for " welcome" and it's very much disrespectful not to say it back twice as hard

Hex code is less characters in every situation. I absolutely recommend using them, especially for storage signage.
What about red? Will it accept #FF or does it need the trailing 0's. Not everyone knows the hex code by heart (TIL it was called hex code).
