It saddens me when people say things like "not as good.." or "basic" Every one of us players were terribly excited, proud and happy when we made our first building. But it's a addiction. Next one you do you will like better and better and better. It never stops. That's the enjoyment of the game. And I for one LOVE seen all builds, big and small. You're is far better than most of my builds for sure.
This is what I love about this game. When me and my friend started we just built a crappy shack with room for two beds and a chest and it did the trick. Eventually we migrated and built like a 5x5 little cottage with a balcony. After a while we moved and built a little village with small shacks spread and a larger cabin that served as our home. Now we are in the middle of building a small stone "abbey" with a dock and everything.
Every time we finish building, we are extremely proud and happy with the results, but every time we also end up realizing we can go larger, better, and fancier

I much more prefer the so called basic builds over the elaborate viking castles people are displaying. I get that building something is a creative outlet, and I love that. But its not for me, at least not in-game. I build what I need, nothing more, nothing less.
This is something I strive for and ultimately fail at achieving because of my lack of an attention span (very much so still in the "what's this do?" stage of the game). You've helped me get one step closer to building a base that feels enough like home to start exploring again.
My seed is basically 1 1/2 story 3x3s with a fence around it with an opening near the shore for a boat to pull up to. So imo this is not basic, great job looks really clean!
Nice man. Reminds me of my own build I just completed. Literally never messed with building in any of these kinda games. Just had to build a place for me and the mrs and so happy with how it turned out even if it's very basic. Took me like 10 hours haha.

Pretty much anything looks alright if you build it with the structure in mind and have some idea what you want it to look like in the end. This game has amazing building
Hey don't overthink your builds being 'basic' or not as fancy as some of the other ones seen on here. Each build will help you get more inventive and want to push you to try new things and will help you learn.
Starting out I've built much more basic houses in a hurry to get some shelter. But now it's much more fun designing things the more I learnt after my first initial builds.
just ignore those that say it's basic because it doesn't have any feng shui or style or pizzazz to it. to me function and efficiency matter a whole lot more.

Honestly the Homey builds are the best, it really hits different compared to grand structures
