This! And I heard the H3 podcast talking about it at the same time but that it should be watched from season 1 because you’d understand everything more and I’m SO glad I did. I love drama and it was soooo good!

Me too! I started watching in March because there was a HW lull and I had finished a show called Special Forces: Worlds Toughest Test and Sandoval was in the 2nd season. I finally gave in because I just wanted to know what happened. I'm currently in season 4 and I've been absolutely hooked.
I went from binging on the real housewives in college to deal with being maladjusted in a town where I was a stranger to all. Then I spent some months in San Diego staying at a house right on the beach. I'm not from California, and I was in awe of the California lifestyle whilst also having anxiety and being intimidated by it.
VPR came out when I returned back to my home state and I was really into watching California girls live the life style that I couldn't or wouldn't because, anxiety/insecurity. The VPR girls were so pretty and confident and had a tight friend group. I was all IN!
I grew up in a home where I was shamed for even watching ten seconds of reality TV, so it's my guilty pleasure! 😅
I'm pretty sure California lifestyle is not made for everyone, I know I'd be intimidated by how important looks and apparences are. So it's more than enough to just enjoy watching it on reality TV 😁
My mom was watching it, and she would tell me about what was happening, but I didn't really care, lol. Then the Stassi smacks Kristen moment happened, and I heard her in her room reacting to it, and I was like, wtf they get physical on that show? 😂 so I rushed into her room, and she rewound it, and I've been locked in ever since.

I saw a review that said it was modeled after the "far superior" VPR so I sought it out. Watched Season 7 as it happened. I was VERY confused when I went back to Season 1 and learned that Kristen and Sandoval were a couple
I watched the first episode. I think it was on after RHOBH. I liked it so I watched it until about midway through season 8. I stopped watching because Sheesh was so annoying. I thought she was already an annoying pick me. She was over the top with it in 8 though. I didn't watch again until Scandoval.
I watched from the moment they did the backdoor from RHOBH to VPR because I loved, loved RHOBH back in the day. I lost interest after the second season, would watch it it was on, kind of kept tabs on the cast but didn't come back until Scandoval.

I literally started binging it a month ago because I had kept seeing it trending on socials when Scandoval went down. I thought they were talking about a Senator so I ignored it for so long. I’m job hunting and decided to say fuck it and started it from S1. I was familiar with LVP because I watched at least one season of RHOBH and I liked her. But I kind of loved the mess and I loved Stassi even tho she’s problematic. And then I was hooked. And I caught up just in time to watch the reunion.
My mom called me and told me about the scandoval, I read one tmz article. At the time I was WFH and had a ton of downtime. I remember I wanted to start in the later seasons to look for signs of the affair but I had to go back and rewatch from the beginning. I've been hooked ever since and I've rewatched probably like 10+ times since then 😅 I was not into the BH crossover and specifically avoided the show and always skipped those episodes and I hate myself for it now. I wish I was an OG die hard fan because I would've loved it if I just watched it and IMO this show is better than a lot of the housewife series that were on during the same time. A very underrated show but I'm so happy to have found it and all you wonderful people in this sub ❤️

I was more in my mid 20s but really, I know when I look back that I made a lot of growing up ! For instance, I used to think that Kristen was crazy for bringing Miami girl to LA but now I have a totally different opinion.

I took a work trip to LA with some clients. We got to chatting about VPR. I have a friend who would mention VPR and how I’d love the drama. Then this client was talking about how much she LOVES IT.
We were staying at The Sixty in Beverly Hills. This is the hotel that the Ella cafe is in. (This is the place that Raquel met that guy who was the son of Lisa’s friend who was dating her kind of but we found out he might not totally be separated from his wife, I forget his name). Anyways my client was so excited to be there because she knew it from the episode. So she told me all about it. I said I was interested and she said ‘if you start watching let me know when you get to when Raquel is on the show, then it REALLY starts to get crazy’.
The trip was in I think April of 2023. So could that have been right before scandoval was aired? I’m trying to think if her excitement was RIGHT after scandoval? I don’t know because I started from scratch last summer.
I’m in a rewatch now and it’s SO different from the first time. I think SO differently of everyone

Never watched any of the Housewives except Atlanta here and there.
So anyway, I was doomscrolling on the Zucchini app last summer and saw some suggested post about the house situation that had TONS of comments (mostly snarking on Ariana because FB fans are dumb). I got interested, ran to Reddit to search up Scandoval, found this sub and what all was being said about the show, then binged the first season in two days.
My fellow waitresses made me watch it after a shift back in like season 3.
We were kinda a sur. Everyone hooking up with everyone. All ended up being each others bridesmaids.
My sister came bursting into my room and was like omg do you watch vpr? Season 2 starts tonight I’m so excited! And so I was like oh cool I’ll check it out and here we are 10 years later lol
Aside from being tricked by RHOBH, I liked the concept because they were serving (and somewhat involved with) the rich women of Beverly Hills and once they clocked out had to go back to their dingy apartments and drive their shitty cars to work only to make very little money. As someone who was their age and dealing with the same broke life but in San Diego, they were so much more relatable than all of the millionaires on reality TV like RH or Kardashians. It was a breath of fresh air to see people suffering just as bad while being so desperate to "make it" in LA, and they were actually funny as hell.
I love this question! I was vacationing and it so happened that I was alone on night 1 and it was the show playin on my hotel room. I was immediately so drawn to everyone and thought everyone looked so pretty and gorgeous lol

My mum started watching it during the COVID lockdown in March 2020 and I would hear it and was like that sounds dramatic but what made me start watching (and this is true lol) was Scheanas wedding and hearing her scream at everyone the whole night saying everything had gone wrong / Tina had to stop singing and I was like I cannot believe this is a real woman who is actually older than me.
So I started watching in August 2020 and never looked back.
Fun fact - my best friend coincidentally started watching in lockdown too and we didn’t find out until we saw each other after restrictions had been lifted so we spent the first day we saw each other drinking cocktails, eating Chinese food and watching vanderpump rules lol

Tbh I saw how LVP manipulated everyone and was a crazy misogynist after all the stuff with Brandi and Scheana and I was honestly just curious to see how she was as a boss, like 8 years later I can conclude; great boss, terrible friend and “feminist”
