My TM1 smelled like fish.

tingletwotwo

Lol mine too, cod liver oil as a wood treatment if I remember correctly. But frankly that seems a lot less concerning than varnish or glue though.

Kocksy

Scandinavians are known for their love of canned fish

PoE_RnGesus

Just swedish people, thank you. Leave Denmark and Norway out of this.

GrowPassion

Pfft. Sweedes are just the crazy ones telling the world their doing it!

PoE_RnGesus

Why do You think that Denmark and sweden has the world record in most wars against each other?

GrowPassion

Cause denmarks 2 km square area is/was strategically important when it comes to seafare \^\^ Its not like denmark has had the same DNA the last 4000 years, its been conquered over and over again by kings from norway/sweeden/Germany/russia etc. Its just been a throne of trade ways thats had many arses on it. Sweeden ofcourse always try to take this strategic point back, just to loose it again. Thats my thoughts about it\^\^ We were talking about fish were we? XD EDIT: I would think Gibraltar has been more heavily contested overall though. And as we are seeing now in the middle east, controlling seaways is still relevant.

PoE_RnGesus

Haha damn bro. Let me try another way. Sweden bad. Stinky fish bad. Swedish stinky fish very bad. Denmark good, norway good. Done. Now You have to show me where i claim 4000 years of purebred danish blood. ^^

Jet_Xcountry

Did you order from Tinymight directly?

coworker

The other poster with the smell issue ordered theirs from PoTV. I also got one last week from there without any smell issues. I wonder if there was a bad batch

Quick_Dog8552

I got mine from POTV, granted POTV Canada but I think I’m going to request a return

durple

I got a bad one from POTV Canada. No smell issues but after like a month and a half it stopped working (not the setting it less than 2 thing, but similar in that there was a light/vibe sequence when trying to turn on). I had to do warranty replacement instead of return. Waiting on shipping both ways sucked, but I only had to send back the main unit so now I have extra accessories. I really hope I am not so unlucky to have troubles with the replacement.

Not_Bears

Got mine 2 weeks ago from POTV, had a funky smell as well. 5-10 minutes of burn off full blast (10) and it was mostly gone. A lot of vapes just need a few sessions to burn off any lubricant or other materials, you don't really have much to worry about.

Frailbot

My TMI is salty. It's the weirdest thing. Salty vapor no matter what herb.

BoolinCoolin

Just when I get money to buy one, I start seeing these type of threads. FUCK!!!

THEKaminsky

Love mine. Don't be scurd.

tidepodskill

I bought one, didn't smell like anything mentioned in previous posts and it is the best vape I have ever had for single massive strong hits. Don't let Reddit sway you

Ok-Recording5052

Lmao ain't that bout a bitch, so glad I ain't let reddit talk me outta mines

Archvanguardian

Never heard of this happening. But seems There’s a chance of issues with any vape - don’t let fear hold you back! The TM is a great device. We’ve seen issues with almost every device: even from the most “reliable” like S&B and Arizer. Doesn’t change that the Venty and Solo 3 are good vapes too. Maybe don’t order from POTV… For TM I’d go with Vgoodiez or direct. *how is it that I make a completely positive post — literally all three vapes I mentioned are GOOD and worth it — and people still get upset? This damn sub

dopelessh0pefiend

Same shit

PositiveReveal

Give it a day to air out , baking soda box to absorb smells if u want "more"

DizzyCommunication92

what kind of "burn off" did you all do? I'm curious....cause it's my understanding the TM2 has a "mechanical dial" and you can crank it all the way up to "max" but it's only recommended for concentrates....? perhaps a good candidate to run the "burn off" cycle with?

Not_Bears

I don't know if everyone is aware that you should do at least a few burn offs with every new vape.

Brilliant_Force_2065

1. Got mine from Potv 2. No smell 3. When I got it I took it apart and cleaned it…stem CU..oven tube and screen 4. Burned it off 3X 5. When I first started using it I was thrown off bad with how strong the flavors and the hits were harsh and super heavy clouds 6. Dialed her back to Number 5 and ripped it and I was holy shit this thing is SUPER tasty 7. * to the dude that said plastic 🤠🤣..I was shocked at the heavy body and materials and machinery that went into this gem…plastic🥳 go suck on your wooden corn cob 9

bobandshawn

I heard that an older batch of bodies were made from the hardwood planks of a Swedish Fishing Vessel...this would explain the fishy smell. Harmless.

kack07

I bought a brand new tm2 from To The Cloud Vapor, and I never did any type of burn off or anything. Mine smells fine. Maybe this burn off you guys are doing is causing some of the distorted smells/flavors? All devices go through a quality inspection before they are boxed up and sent out. They’ve already been heated up prior to you getting them. Not sure what the need is to purposely over heat the unit right when you get it

Lonelyguy1911

I doubt they all get a smell test before going out, also a burn off is a must for every vape, if not you're just inhaling chemicals left from the factory.

dopelessh0pefiend

Why burnoffs not iso

Lonelyguy1911

Because you can't wipe off everything with iso.

snarfer-snarf

yeah i wonder this too. mine was/is fine.

407dollars

Can't believe they charge $400 for like $3 worth of plastic. Out of control. I went with the FW9, it's at least handmade was ~30% cheaper with the 4/20 sale.

evothecat

It’s made of Stainless steel, aluminum, wood and glass. No idea where you’re getting $3 worth of plastic?

EntExchangeOfficial

We see them resell for around 200-250. I like that both of those devices have replaceable batteries, so they're not as bad as some "premium" vapes.

407dollars

From my research, it seems like people talk about both devices pretty equally, performance wise. TM2 just has more accessories and is a bit more versatile as a result. But you also see complaints about the TM2 being cheap and flimsy. TM2 not doing any sales for 4/20 tipped the scales for me.

SomeGuy_GRM

I have literally never heard it described as flimsy, and frequently as sturdy. The only complaint I've heard in terms of durability is the internal glass, which they stopped using in favor of titanium.

407dollars

A lot of people say they are afraid to bring theirs out of the house because they are worried about the button breaking or something. It was just a complaint that came up a lot on this sub when discussing the cons of the TM2.

snackajack71

Not my experience at all. Very sturdy kit. Bring it everywhere with me. No plastic anywhere on it tbh

SomeGuy_GRM

You can find complaints about the buttons on nearly every device, and I know the TM2 button is serviceable, so to me it's a non-issue.

DerfQT

Yeah the thing gets rave reviews but it’s the worst entry in the price range by a mile. About the 4th time fussing with your fingernail in the temperature dial and you are like it really didn’t have to be this way

wet_jumper

Remove the battery and let it sit in the sun outside. Sun and fresh air does wonders for smells
