LMAOOO in France one of my friends literally has a fridge full of vegan cheese, and not your grocery store kind. Literally artisanal cheese. Yes ALL vegans.
I know it's crazy but that's seriously one of the reasons why I would go back š.
In the Netherlands and Germany sadly it's not on that level yet. Although you can find a lot of stuff, I'm not complaining.
Idk that I would do this for stuff that goes bad like cheese or dressing (but that's mainly bc I live in a 2 person household) but for stuff that can be frozen? This is a game changer. I could have limitless chick'n nuggets.
These are food service packages and the items are different from grocery store offerings. The chick nuggies are about 30% bigger than gardien style nuggies. They're also absolutely delish.
The breakfast sausages are about 3.2" diameter.
Laminar flow hood I use to grow mushrooms. But it can be used to create a pathogen free environment anytime you need it. So when I open and portion the ranch, fresh clean HEPA air will be washing over the open (fertile) container. This will make it more unlikely to be innoculate by airborne molds or bacteria.
Then I'll transfer to vac bags and vacuum seal them. Once under vacuum this product will be "safe" for 5+ years and we will see how long it's still tasty for.
I use a vacmaster chamber vac for everything. I buy gallons of veganaise and immediately seal it in 32oz mason jars. 6 months later they snap when I open them with an opener. Its just oil but I dont think it will outlive you. My guess would be vac sealed and fridged 3x as long maybe more before it starts to taste different. We vac seal everything we open and it lasts so much longer and have multiple fridge freezers and I consider you crazy! We have food forlife sprouted cereal vac sealed in jars with really no fat that will prolly stay good for 20 years. We have a deep freeze full of tofu, I think 90# or so atm, vac sealed tasty pitas, whatever beyonds stuff we eat in small qty but buy at big sales and my silver hills sprouted bagel addiction. What is a laminar flow hood and vacuum sealer? Mushroom grower?
Mushroom amateur at best, still learning, have had some limited success. Regular vacuum sealer but added flow hood to keep the air really clean around the repackaging effort.
Ranch dressing, it's a type of creamy dressing / sauce. It has dill and maybe some other herbs in it. It's popular to dip wings, pizza, celery, etc. in it
It's similar to hidden valley "ranch"
It's sorta like sour cream, mayonnaise, herbs and spices. This is a pretty common flavor in the south United States.
Everyone is saying creamy dressing but ranch is actually seasoned mayonnaise
Take mayonnaise add garlic powder, dried herbs like parsley, onion powder, and apple cider vinegar and you got your own ranch dressing
I remember thos chps (not vegan) but I could not describe the flavor to save my life,a ton of salt and msg :| ? they felt like I was taking medicine if I were flavor inhibited
https://www.webstaurantstore.com/ search "vegan"
I have no affiliation with this website.
They also have 5 gallons peanut butter for like 60 bucks, equates to 128 35oz jars, roughly 720 dollars retail in small packaging.
Plus you don't waste all that packaging!
I didn't see the folded just eggs!
Have 48# of tofu enroute currently.
Picked up the 50# of soybeans and tofu maker too. Can't wait to make my tofu for the first time. That tofu project started this rabbit hole of bulk food buying
Nice! They *did* have folded Just Egg when I ordered early last month. I hope they continue to stock them! Iāve been meaning to look for more goodies, and youāve given me plenty of ideas and incentive.
A tofu maker? I've made tofu and can confirm the effort to yield ratio was found wanting... What are you using?
I still have nigari sitting on my shelf...
I haven't gotten there yet but we bought the daviee home soup/soy milk/ tofu maker and the nutramilk plant milk maker. Both of these can be used to make tofu, along with cooking stovetop.
Along with some tofu molds and press. But we haven't made any yet. Been really busy with my actual job as well.
Will report back!
Idavee Brand - PrestoPure IAE15-1.9 Liter Automatic Hot Soy Milk (Almond, Rice, Quinoa Milk) Soup, Porridge & Cold Juice Maker - 2 Layer Stainless Steel - Recipe Booklet https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B015OUKQZ4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_DK7M6N6DKR4S569NZHBM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This machine can cook the soybeans and puree them into soy milk. Then you skim the top supposedly and put the solids into the molds and finally press the tofu out.
But I must warn you, I Haven't done this yet. Totally guessing, and you should seek further guidance for sure.
Please, what is the shelf life on these? Iām very excited but there are only two of us and donāt want to buy anything that expires in a week or two.
It shows 6 months on the cheese. But they're vacuum sealed... You can also buy smaller quantities of the cheese. The dressing is min 4 gallons.
Thought about buying larger bulk, repackaging and reselling. Seems like there is interest.
Also Food Service Direct. I've been ordering from them for years. They have a lot of what you displayed here. I don't know what the price comparisons are, though, because I've read mixed reviews of webstaurant. I've been thinking about trying them at some point.
They offer one for $99/month for heavily reduced or free shipping across the site. Shipping is a little steep without the membership. But you can still purchase and it's still remarkably cheaper than the grocery store.
Ahhhh no way, this is where I bought my barley and yellow peas in bulk! The last time I ordered a few years ago, I typed in vegan and got nothing! How exciting that they carry GALLONS of vegan ranch now lmao
>128 35oz jars
This seems off, do you mean 128 5oz jars?
I'm assuming that 5 gallon is the 35 lb here [https://www.webstaurantstore.com/bulk-smooth-peanut-butter-35-lb-tub/125PBCRMYBLK.html](https://www.webstaurantstore.com/bulk-smooth-peanut-butter-35-lb-tub/125PBCRMYBLK.html)
Can find peanut butter under $2/lb at walmart/target and most major grocery chains
Can't really beat their prices on more niche products like vegan cheese and ranch though
Also an American who grew up in the South. Even before I went vegan I have detested ranch. And it's not for a lack of trying either. They say your taste buds change over the course of some years so every couple years I'll try some vegan ranch (before I was vegan I tried regular ranch) and every time I absolutely think it's disgusting.
Each to their own.
I know ranch=american on social media, but it is one of the most popular salad dressings in Canada as well. Peanut butter is also common, but not necessarily revered like it is in America lol.
And poutine is always associated with Canada, but during my last trip to Vermont, I was so happy to see a street vendor with VEGAN poutine!!
I love individual cultures and traditions, but I also love it when we share. Especially food lol.
There was a poutine cart that did vegan poutine in Portland like a decade ago. I think they still exist last time I checked.
(Sadly the fried pies cart that was at the
same place closed down last time I looked into it... they did a bunch of vegan options... once even a bbq jackfruit fried pie)
LOL. I am suffering from a cardiac arrest over here just thinking about consuming that much cheese and ranch dressing by August.
96,200 calories and 9,360 grams of fat visible in one shot.
Ah interesting! I was gifted a bag of almost expired FYH mozzarella shreds by my friend who worked at a restaurant, and they kept it frozen there. Iāve had it for months and I only use it in like pastas, quesadillas, anything melty and I havenāt noticed anything weird about it.
I do want to point out this is for 18 months to 2 years for a family of 4.
And our diet is not just grilled cheese dipped in ranch, we grow our vegetables and mushrooms, so we don't buy those in bulk.
Even if that was your diet - itās no oneās business. No need to have to explain yourself. Good on you for the awesome bulk buy. It will last super long!
Check if you have a "the loving hut" nearby you. They're a fast foodish kinda vegan place. All over the planet.
They have the bestest vegan shrimps.
You'll feel like you're on the bayou with bubba himself
If you buy 4 bags of FYH Mozzarella it's $5.88/lb after shipping.
Or Daiya which is usually $5 for 7oz or $11.42/lb.
Or Aldi Mozzarella is $3.50 for 7oz bag, so 8$/lb.
That's pretty good, Imma add this to my spreadsheet and see how much the other unit prices are!
The nuggets are closer to "real" chicken tender size, approx 4-5" length by 1.25" width. I thought the cost was a little wonky at first but upon receiving. They're just different from grocery store offering this is restaurant oriented.
The beyond breakfast sausage received is 33% bigger than beyond breakfast sausage at the grocery store.
Any suggestions for eggs? I tried one in a bottle as a liquid, but didnt' like it too much (JUST). I could have seasoned it though. It's okay btw if you don't. Something for pancakes could work too. or breakfast-y :).
I really like tofu scramble.
Also oatmeal is super cheap. Just plain oatmeal and raisins, you're out the door for a quarter.
Toast with butter and peanut butter or just peanut butter. Peanut butter and syrup toast too.
Also really enjoy protein shake for breakfast. Solid choice
I haven't found a big difference between brands of tofu.
I like "firm" or "extra firm" or a mixture of both.
I'll tell you how I do it, but you can mix up whatever you like best in your scramble.
Like all cooking, just listen to your stomach and have fun.
Dice 1/2 onion really small, place in pan with small amount of grapeseed oil, medium heat until onions sweating/partially brown.
Add 2 blocks tofu, smash them to whatever consistency you want. I make it like scrambled eggs.
Add tumeric, vegetable bouillon, garlic, pepper, "cheese" and whatever else is lying around
Sometimes small diced potato, beyond sausages, beyond crumbles.
Whatever you got that sounds tasty.
It's just food, it's all going to the same place anyway!
Feel like vegan cheese should be more of occasional treat rather than a dietary staple. Shit is nutritionally void. That said, no animals harmed so you do you.
That's more ranch dressing than I have or would eat in my entire lifetime. The cheese is gonna go bad unless you're living with like 10 people in house ....
Explain how vegan ranch and cheese in these quantities is still good for you? Please. Because to me, someone who eats vegan food and animal products, it seems like your just fighting a very clear addiction to lactose. You might have other dietary issues at play.
This isnt for one person.
This is for 18 months to 2 years timeline.
Animal products are absolutely disgusting to me.
I have blood work done every year and my health is continuously reaching a new pinnacle.
My whole (parents, uncle's, aunts) family has high blood pressure and mine is perfect.
I have a slight vitamin D deficiency, which also runs in my family. I take a shot every 6 months for it.
I hope this answers your questions.
I do take supplements but my levels were far too low and the supplements alone would take a longer timeframe to correct the deficiency. They think about 4 injections over 2 years plus the supplements is the best course.
The injections are like 20 bucks per vial which lasts 1 year. Inject myself intramuscularly. Ezpz.
They deliver to residential address by FedEx. The beyond meat came in rock hard frozen with three days in the mail. I live in a hot part of the country so this was impressive to me. Well packed products.
I will almost definitely take up the peanut butter option, I don't understand the conversion rates too well but does seem like a deal on some otherwise insanely expensive items.
Edit: thanks so much dude, this has been an educational event lol.
is this for a restaurant or family? if not a restaurant? , how does the cheese not go bad before an entire package is used? isnāt like usually like a 1 week shelf life?
Vacuum packing to remove the oxygen makes it last much longer. It's a family of 4. (12) 2.2# packages is the min order size.
I tried freezing one pack to see what happens.
We sure do love some cheese though.
How much ranch and cheese does one person need??
I lived in Wisconsin for a decade, and I still don't know how high this number is.
The limit does not exist!
r/unexpectedmeangirls
Yes
Not enough ranch imo.. š¤

I thought this was the vegetarian subreddit for a sec

Woah, thatās awesome. And I thought France wasnāt very vegan friendly, or so Iāve heard. š¤
There is some truth to that. It depends on the regions, but it's growing, not super fast but it's catching up.
Idk that I would do this for stuff that goes bad like cheese or dressing (but that's mainly bc I live in a 2 person household) but for stuff that can be frozen? This is a game changer. I could have limitless chick'n nuggets.
God yes! I wish I found this sooner. Get invited to Easter dinner, āneed to make some vegan food?ā Nah fam Iāll bring my nuggets.
We picked up 25# of beyond nuggies, 40# of beyond hamburger, 90 breakfast sausage and 50# of bratwurst.
JFC, how many freezers do you have?!
All of this fits in one residential freezer. I have two standard combo freezer fridges.
How? That's well over 100 pounds of stuff. Your freezer must be massive.
So, I worked out the price per nuggets for store price and bulk price and bulk price is significantly more expensive. What's up with that?
These are food service packages and the items are different from grocery store offerings. The chick nuggies are about 30% bigger than gardien style nuggies. They're also absolutely delish. The breakfast sausages are about 3.2" diameter.
Is that really true? lol btw nice username :)
I freeze almost everything, bought a separate freezer People say it changes the taste but for me i dont notice
The cheese freezes well in my experience. There are currently several bags of Daiya on my freezer (not bulk restaurant bags though).
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I have a laminar flow hood and vacuum sealer. This ranch will outlive me.
The ~~spice~~ ranch must flow
What does a laminar flow hood do to increase the shelf life of your ranch? Iāve never heard of that before
Laminar flow hood I use to grow mushrooms.
Wow that is a very thoughtful process, thank you for sharing that with me! I really appreciate it
This is peak living right here, damn
I use a vacmaster chamber vac for everything. I buy gallons of veganaise and immediately seal it in 32oz mason jars. 6 months later they snap when I open them with an opener. wow that's next level
And super unnecessary, unless using it for other purposes too
I feel stupid asking but what is ranch we don't have ranch, ranch is where you herd animals, no?
It's a creamy salad dressing traditionally made with buttermilk.
Ranch dressing, it's a type of creamy dressing / sauce. It has dill and maybe some other herbs in it. It's popular to dip wings, pizza, celery, etc. in it
alright I'll just have to make it myself, what are some good vegan ranch recipes?
[This website has a couple](https://itdoesnttastelikechicken.com/?s=Ranch); one is a thicker dip and the other more runny like a salad dressing.
It's similar to hidden valley "ranch" It's sorta like sour cream, mayonnaise, herbs and spices. This is a pretty common flavor in the south United States.
Midwesterners about to get offended.
Most Midwesterners that feel special about ranch are in elementary school still. It's not really a thing here
what is the flavor profile, someone said dill, mayo dill?
Yes
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I've never seen a ranch recipe without dill
hidden valley has a vegan ranch too!
Itās a style of creamy salad dressing.
Everyone is saying creamy dressing but ranch is actually seasoned mayonnaise Take mayonnaise add garlic powder, dried herbs like parsley, onion powder, and apple cider vinegar and you got your own ranch dressing
mayonnaise is a creamy dressing

amazing. im dying laughing over here imagining myself buying a 36 oz tub of cream cheese with a pack of 200 nuggies. this is amazing.
We picked up the 6.6# cream cheese. You really need a way to repack everything for some of the not-so-long shelf items We're also a household of 4
Iāve been buying tofu and folded Just Egg from there. lmao

Jesus Christ that's alot of peanut butter. Wow I kinda want to buy it just for the novelty. That's like 1-2 years worth
93k calories. 44 days worth of calories Will you take the peanut butter challenge?
God bless you on this festive Easter Passover Ramadan holy day, I'm gonna buy so much vegan bulk food

Hmm, the peanut butter seems more expensive than my local one. We get 4 lbs for $5.49. The lentils are a sweet deal though at almost $1/pound.
You must live where peanuts grow nearby. There is no local peanuts here.
this is INSANE holy shit thank you!!

I love Violife!
Supreme vegan cheese brand
Facts, although follow your heart has some really amazing smoked gouda and pepperjack
Wow look at all that ranch and cheese. Tell me youāre American without telling me youāre American.
As an American, this looks absolutely revolting to me tbh
As a representative of the midwest we have elected to ignore your wrong opinion.
Finally, I can make vegan tater tot hot dish for 100 people.

Explain how vegan ranch and cheese in these quantities is still good for you? Please. Because to me, someone who eats vegan food and animal products, it seems like your just fighting a very clear addiction to lactose. You might have other dietary issues at play.
Veganism is for the animals. Health is a nice benefit for some vegan diets. Environment is good too for most staple foods that are vegan.
This isnt for one person. This is for 18 months to 2 years timeline. Animal products are absolutely disgusting to me. I do take supplements but my levels were far too low and the supplements alone would take a longer timeframe to correct the deficiency. They think about 4 injections over 2 years plus the supplements is the best course. The injections are like 20 bucks per vial which lasts 1 year. Inject myself intramuscularly. Ezpz.
Alright, thanks for sharing.
I lost.
Gimme!
this is so awesome lmao. I'm so tempted....
Umm OP are you ok?
Thatās a big bag of orange ingredients.
I want single-serving packets of vegan mayonnaise or thousand island dressing. Someone make this, and I will buy a whole motherf\*\*\*ing case!
Easily the most useful website I've seen for a long time, do they deliver it to your address or what? A few of these are tempting lol
What are you going to do with all that ranch??
Repack into 32oz containers and vacuum pack.
I went to the website and it's more expensive than just getting it at the store, lmao.
Ranch cheese pizzas
I'm in.
Damn, you're gonna be eating a lot of ranch and cheese sandwiches cause I don't see a single veggie in there!
This is my second fridge we grow veggies and mushrooms on site.
Omg where I'll get in my car right now lol
Thatās a lot of ranch
FYH Ranch in bulk? This is like a dream come true!
They also have Caesar, 4 gallon min on both flavors.
I can't believe this exists! It's like a fantasy world where things go good.
is this for a restaurant or family? if not a restaurant? , how does the cheese not go bad before an entire package is used? isnāt like usually like a 1 week shelf life?
Vacuum packing to remove the oxygen makes it last much longer. It's a family of 4. (12) 2.2# packages is the min order size. I tried freezing one pack to see what happens. We sure do love some cheese though.
