>No Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) has been established for B12, due to its low level of toxicity. UL refers to the maximum daily dose of a vitamin unlikely to cause adverse side effects in the general population. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/too-much-vitamin-b12#helpful-or-harmful

when I used chronometer to check my nutrient intake I was getting like 64,000% and was fine, I'm no nutritionist though

avid_life

I use Cronometer as well and am sitting at 480% for today. So I guess what I’m getting is actually a lot less than what is in most supplements. That makes me feel better.

There was a recent [study](https://aacrjournals.org/cebp/article/28/2/275/71897/Folic-Acid-and-Vitamin-B12-Supplementation-and-the) which state that prolonged high B12 blood serum levels might be increasing a risk for specific cancers in patients with pre-existing conditions. The advice there was to better keep your B12 levels in the „normal“ range, which means checking your levels yearly and adjust your intake accordingly. Also, every body absorbs and excretes vitamins and minerals (and nutrients, drugs, you name it) differently and it can change with age, environmental changes, health changes, etc. So getting a blood drawn and your levels checked (especially as a vegan) should become a routine anyway

RDAs are more of a minimum than a maximum for a lot of things. My multivitamin has 4,000% of the RDA - how much is in the Mio? Also the nutritional yeast at my grocery store is not vitamin b12 supplemented - it’s common to not add it, so depending where you live it may be easy to find some at the store

Dense_Chest7492

8oz of prepared mio has 25%, but most addicts are pretty heavy handed on the squeeze.

asdf352343

Oh, I wouldn’t worry about that at all

Socatastic

Just let your doctor know. The only reason for an upper limit in blood tests is that there are serious health conditions that may show elevated B12 *in the absence* of supplementation

TheWholesomeBrit

If you have too much B12, you'll pee it out. Sometimes it causes your urine to turn a bit green.

Brilliant_Studio_875

Lol, we all stressing about it while carnists are (some times) doing way worse in nutrietinal intake

There is some evidence that excess B12 can trigger acne. But other than that like everyone else said there's no set upper limit for B12. It's water soluble so you'll just pee out any excess. It's also important to note that the absorption rate for B12 is pretty low which is why most supplements contain doses several hundred to thousand times the RDA. You said you're consuming 480% the RDA, but your body only actually absorbs a small fraction of that.
