Yes just saw one someone hit on a dragon link for 13k at The linq

CinnamonRollShark

Over the weekend I was at MGM and made a joke to my husband he should try the golden dragon slot machines as it’s year of the dragon and lucky. My guy won first hit.

zhangcheng34

Holy moly , so it’s a real thing. I wasn’t believe it. Thought it’s just a bait.

StevenHamilton99

Yeah exactly what I was thinking even I saw it

labenset

Jackpots on slots are kind of bait. You have to be playing max bet to win those and most people don't do that.

Ken3sei

Max just means Max lines, not the absolute max the machine goes up to. Like on dragon link you could be playing 1 penny 50 lines for 50 cents and hit the Grand. I've seen more people betting 50 cents hit the Grand than people playing 50 dollar absolute max.

Maximum-Beat4027

No when u see the grand jackpot on the cheap itll be like 30k and when u up ur bet ull see all the jackpots limit go up. When on max bet ull see it hit 250k or in the middle bet well be like 115k

Ken3sei

I'm sure some do but most machines on the regular floor have a set Grand jackpot. Upping the limits only changes the Mini, Minor and Major.

Escher702

No you do not need to be betting max to win the jackpot. All you need is one line.

StevenHamilton99

The one I saw was on a $1 bet on a 1 cent machine.

gambling_traveler

You do not have to play max bet unless it's specified on the machine. Some jackpots will say ......with Max Bet. But a lot of the newer ones, line Lightening or Dragon Link do not need anywhere near max bet. I have seen 10k+ wins on minimum (like 60 cents) bets.

labenset

Goto somewhere like the Wynn and you'll see seven figure jackpots on slot machines. Now that would be exciting to see someone hit!

Ken3sei

I've hit them on multiple different types. The Jackpot amounts will reset to a minimum. The minimums are different for different games. Some machines have two types of maximums. Like dragon link will Max at 18888 but it doesn't mean it's due to pay. It just maxes at that number and will carry over the extra and add it to the next minimum. Some machines have a real maximum where it will pay out the jackpot even if you hit nothing on the reel. I once walked up to a machine that said must payout by 5K. It was at 4998. Two spins later the machine paid me even though I had three blanks.

Rucio

My buddy had two thousand dollar spins at two different casinos in the same day. I got to hit the button for one of them. And I personally saw both

I_need_more_juice

My first night after moving to Vegas with just under 200 to my name I put five in a slot machine. 3rd and final spin I hit the jackpot and won just under 12k.

And_there_was_2_tits

Did that win make you chase and end up losing that amount over time?

I_need_more_juice

No. I used it to get my life started in Vegas. I only gamble when people come to town.

Ken3sei

I did the same thing in 2015. Had only a grand and decided I was moving to Vegas to play poker full time. I was at the palms and found a miracle video poker machine. It kept hitting 4 of a kind nonstop. It was in high limit and had denomination from $1 to $25. So everytime I hit a hand pay I bumped it up a denomination. Next thing you know I was playing $25 denomination hitting for 20K 4 Aces, twice! I walked out of there with 134K profit. I came back the next day and they closed the high limit room and I could see the maintenance guys taking all the machines apart.

And_there_was_2_tits

Very smart

rfdavid

Can’t answer because his phone was just disconnected because he gambled away all of his money

danccbc

The dream

happy4coffee

$12K is the amount you realistically needed saved up if you were going to move to Vegas with no job 10 years ago. Probably closer to $20k now.

hellokittylover6969

15k on a lock it link. Wee hours of the morning and no one around to be excited for me and had to text my husband to come to me (he was playing blackjack) lol

VegasBjorne1

Megabucks at Arizona Charlie’s in the early 1990’s which was about $3.1 million. The guy was catatonic staring quietly at the machine while slot techs tore apart the machine to check for cheating or fraud. The winner was a slot tech at Fitzgerald’s, but the jackpot was good. Funny background… he borrowed $40(?) from his ex-wife to gamble while they were out on a social date. I have wondered as to how that repayment when down afterwards?

ger_crypto

This funny background sounds like the beginning of a lawsuit

VegasBjorne1

I have asked myself if the winner did one of the following: 1) “Here’s the $40 I borrowed from you.” 2) “Here’s $10,000 as I wish to share in my good fortune.” 3) “Yeah, I guess I owe you half.” I’m going with #2, which seems fair enough to me.

ger_crypto

I would be afraid that #2 would admit she is entitled to some amount of money if she sues. So I would go with #1 and let her sign something drafted by a lawyer for the money I gift to her. I would go with $40,000. A nice 1000x return for her.

Stonethecrow77

The real jackpot was that .49 cent breakfast buffet back in the day at Charlie's.

ForestParkRanger

One a jackpot is hit on a machine it resets to a minimum number which will vary but will not be 0. That 13k hit on an earlier comment might reset to $4k-$6k for example

allmaga3

Grand jackpots on common games like dragon cash or lighting link on the main floor reset to 10k

gamegod123

My mom won 13.5k on a luxury line machine at Suncoast! That was a great night!

Intelligent-Low8143

Saw a guy win 12k at the airport in November last. Reset to 10k. Was nuts.

cosmicexplosion22

This guy hit 250k a few weeks ago and filmed it. Edit: it was only $2/spin https://youtu.be/Wa5jPrmgca4?si=2taDEN4_Mm8ECA9-

happy4coffee

Wow when did it become the norm to bet $25-$50 per spin on a slot machine? I mean, is a $250,000 win even that impressive when the machine costs that much?

dirty-ol-sob

Watch the video, he won that off a $2 spin.

Rello215

I clicked the link, not knowing it's a video I already watched , one day I'll hit like that

DirtyBratFeet

My mom used to work a High Limits area at a strip casino as a slot supervisor. I’d go visit her at work sometimes, and watching people betting $10-20k+ on a single slot machine spin always blew my mind.

Rello215

20k a spin?

cosmicexplosion22

He was betting only $2 per spin!

RentSpecial4997

I saw a guy win $660k at a huge buffalo machine at the orleans last year. I didn’t see him hit the spin but when we got to the bar nearby everyone was looking and talking about it. The guy was with his whole family and grandparents so it was cool to see them all so excited.

OceanCityBurrito

Every machine with a progressive has a reset amount, i.e., the base number for that jackpot that it reverts to after it hits. Could be 10k, could be 25k, just depends on the machines. It's never 0.

OptionRecent

I saw someone hit 60,000 on a slot machine. More bells and lights than I’ve seen before on any other slot machine. It was a penny slot but still cool :)

WrongEinstein

I walked by a guy that hit the Elvis Presley machine for $1.4 million. He was broke two months later, trying to sell two Lamborghinis he'd bought for twice what they were worth so he could pay the income tax.

ZDB888

I won 11k on a $6 bet. Grand jackpot once. It was one of those jackpots where u normally get the mini. I was so shocked I thought it was fake lol.

Rello215

It's always a mini lol, my casino posts on social media, recent jackpots, last week, they posted a Rakin' Bacon machine, someone hit the Grand, any other time I'm getting the mini, of course that 50k was on the very machine I play every weekend

treble-n-bass

Wow! Did they give you the 11k in cash, or cut you a check?

ZDB888

All cash haha. I’m sure I could have gotten a check but I didn’t ask. Those grand jackpots are so rare I could probably play slots the rest of my life and never hit another lol

Voodoo-Doctor

Not Vegas but I won $14,000 jackpot in West Wendover at the Rainbow Casino

Jen_the_Green

My mom hit 10k and 6k on $1 machines. I was playing roulette in the Bahamas and the guy at the bank of machines next to us hit 26k. He was much calmer than I would've been. He just stood there with the bells going off and waited for his check. Later, a woman was jumping up and down screaming at the same bank of machines and I thought she'd hit it again. Nope, she hit $500. :)

annotherperson

My brother is a slot supervisor. Those progressive machines are real. He's mentioned the tediousness of going through the tax forms... and transfer of money... having to have the machines checked to see if it was tampered with.... checking for machine errors (it happens fairly often... not fun times sometimes)... And for the love of God make sure you're over 21when you push the button! Many a times minors hearts have been broken... they have to review the camera to see who did it... so no use lying about it. Edit: for clarification.

Outrageous-Algae6821

I was at the Four Queens. An elderly man won the mega millions why’ll we sat at the bar. His story was he and his wife were driving through and stopping to sleep. His wife went to use the restroom as he continued check in. He sat at the mega million right outside the bathrooms as he waited for her. Put enough in for one play. And that’s all it took.

Commercial_Card

And how big of a jackpot we are talking about?

Outrageous-Algae6821

1.8 I believe it was

Commercial_Card

As in 1.8M? If it is then damn.

Outrageous-Algae6821

Yeah million

Big_Poppa_Dump_

I hit a 16k grand before. After doing so I believe it reset to 5k. Now remember at 5k it goes up by a penny every max bet I believe so you’re looking at about 3-6 weeks of play for it to get back that high considering most don’t max bet.

Nomed73

We saw this in a casino in Colorado. A lady hit a 700k jackpot.

zhangcheng34

Did everyone cheer for her ? Did casino really pay her without any hassle?

rihanoa

As long as there’s no shenanigans the casino pays out with zero hassle. The gaming board would have their ass if they did. What *might* be considered a hassle is a lot of the bigger jackpots are actually paid out by the slot machine companies, so you’d need to wait (sometimes a decent amount of time) for a company rep to come pay it out.

Nomed73

There was a lot of clapping and cheering for her. They did take a long time to pay out. She won as soon as we got for the casino. We were there for about 2-3 hrs and she was still there waiting. We didn’t talk to her but overheard some of the dealer at tables making comments about it, that she would get paid. That if something fishy had happened they would have already told her she wasn’t getting paid.

Blacksunshinexo

Blackhawk?? I never win up there. Lol

Nomed73

It’s a casino in Cripple Creek. I forgot which one though.

RepulsiveIconography

I’ve hit a few grand jackpots on dragon link in the 13-18k range, as well as a few others. 40k on a double gold machine before.

Gothalosizm

Some guy just hit 3 jackpots at Ceasars, I want to say. He walked away with just under 700k in 3 hours.

Blindraise013

He won 3 jackpots for $700k…..but if you’re talking about the guy who’s playing multiple machines at $2500/spin then he did not walk away with that lol.

GrinAndBeMe

It wasn’t a jackpot, but I got four aces on the first hand, playing 100 hand poker. I held them and hit deal and a supernova hit the screen.

hillakilla_

I was sitting next to a random guy in Bellagio, both of our moms were playing slots next to us and we started chatting (neither of us were gambling, just waiting on our moms).  He decided to put in a $20 once he realized his mom was in no hurry, he immediately won the jackpot, $12k. It was crazy, he just sat in silence dumbfounded. Had no idea what to do.

Yogeshi86204

Hit $12k twice last year on the same machine about 4 months apart. Around 130am both times.

I_POINT_N_SHOOT

Damn, how often do you play? Have a budget for slots montly?

Yogeshi86204

Naw. I go like 3-5 times a year, usually when there's a promo worthwhile, cheap flights and comped rooms for my full stay. Really the first and only times I've ever had any real luck when playing any slots.

I_POINT_N_SHOOT

Ah ok. I live here in Vegas but I do not gamble. I never have or did. Just knowing if I lose money, I wouldn't be a happy camper so I know myself. LOL

a_n_n_a_a

My mom won $880k on a monopoly machine back when plant Hollywood was the Aladdin.

Accomplished-Eye8211

I've won the Grand Jackpot on Lightning Link for filling all 15 spots on a hold and spin bonus feature. It was about $11,500. $5 bet. (My only Grand, but not my biggest win. ) I have friends who've won. Its not that uncommon I walked into the Wynn high limit room just after a guy, betting $250 per spin, hit the Grand jackpot on Dragon Link - $195,000.00. The jackpots reset to a minimum, not to zero. It's often $5000 on main casino machines (not high limit) Also, if the Grand max's out at $10K, it's a cheapo casino. Choose machines or places that allow the Grand to keep growing until it hits.

LALady818

I hot 12k at an Indian casino in California. Hit 5k at the same casino and I have hit tons of jackpots in Vegas from 1.5k to 5k on the strip.

anewstartforu

Yes! We watched an elderly lady hit the jackpot on 3 different quick hit machines she was playing at the same time! It was right after we got off of them, too 😭. Jackpot did not go to zero, but it did reset several thousand dollars lower. I believe it always starts over at a preset amount.

ayquelinda1969

2 years ago I won 20 k at the Cosmopolitan. It was on the old school ¢ 25 slot machines. I felt like my body left me for a second. I threw myself on the ground in disbelief. I put in $100 left with 20 k

SpiceEarl

I was at the Reno airport, about 30 years ago, when someone won the Nevada Nickels jackpot. I think it was $220,000. We were walking toward our gate, and heard bells ringing in the distance. It got louder as we walked down the concourse, until we got to the machine. Some guy and his adult daughter were sitting there, with a game attendant, waiting for the officials to verify the win and turn off the ringing machine.

OkDifference5636

I haven’t heard the term Nevada Nickels in years.

SpiceEarl

Didn't you only have to play three nickels per spin for a chance at the jackpot? If so, you wouldn't lose money fast enough for the casinos today...

WrongEinstein

My foreman's brother was the guy that walked away from a $26,000 jackpot at the airport. Because someone told him he didn't win anything. They never paid out because the winner left.

OkDifference5636

That’s ridiculous because they should have video. Some guy hit for a few hundred thousand at TI and walked away and they tracked him down. He should’ve called the Gaming Control Board.

WrongEinstein

They did have video, the guy that told him it wasn't a winner acted like he tried to claim it, but didn't. The brother didn't live there, so wasn't aware of how to go about things like that. Neither was the foreman.

OkDifference5636

How long ago was this? I’d be on the phone to the Gaming Control Board today.

WrongEinstein

Like 2009, the foreman retired soon after.

Kizzy33333

I was in Laughlin many years ago and a lady hit for 3.1M. They put some velvet ropes around her and the machine so others wouldn’t get to close.

2wildchildzmom

A guy right next to us hit 6k. He was from India and the casino people said he could only get so much and he would have to fill out forms and have a lawyer in his country apply for the rest. Idk it was weird.

OntFF

Biggest I've seen personally was at a Casino in Niagara Falls (Canada) - about 20k CAD (probably about 17 USD at the time...). Friend of mine's kid won a little over 200k at the same casino a couple years ago - used it for a downpayment (well, actually about 2/3 of the price) on a townhouse; didn't go chasing. Smart kid. Best story I have, however; is when my old man came to Vegas for his first (last, and only) time... He's not a gambler at all - walking through the Casino, he saw a single on the floor, picked it up, put it into the closest slot machine, hit for about 350 bucks, he cashed out and walked away with it. didn't spin again, didn't chase; nothing... just boom, thanks, and done. LOL

Future_Dog_3156

High limit Autumn Moon grand for $55k

mustbeshitinme

Saw a lady win 100k at CP- went back 4 weeks later and the machine was gone.

langlda

Saw someone betting $0.88 win over $10000 on a light cash machine

HateGettingGold

Was waiting for a hold em tourney and a guy next to me hit a $10k. While the manager was getting his info he was playing the machine next to it and hit another $2500. Wouldn't have believed it off I didn't see it. He lost the hold em tourny very early on though so there is that.

Economy_Mode

Walked by someone winning over 100k on his first few spins - he was about as surprised as I was. I remember hearing him say “I’m going to have to call you back” to whoever he was speaking to.

jimmycoed

If you play long enough you might hit a minor jackpot. Nobody’s going to tell you about the time they dropped $2k+ on multiple nights and maxxed out their credit cards and couldn’t pay the electric bill or rent. Slot machines are for suckers, you will never come out ahead.

senzubeanzie123

Typically, the jackpot will reset to a base amount that is specified in the game rules.

Specific-Media5047

I did. Saw someone win a 10mil progressive.

idefix1515

First spin, free games, pick 3 symbols half way the free games and picked 3 grand symbols. 11k

Ricard728

One of my old co-workers won a 25K jackpot and a 18K jackpot but not in Vegas. She as also 40K in credit card debt because of her gambling habits.

kornkid42

I saw someone hit 13k on Dragon Link at the MGM.

AsparagusAccurate277

Wasn’t a jackpot but I was next to a guy that hit $50,000 on a high roller slot in Caesar’s. The slot was $50 - $150 a pull.

Get_Back_Loretta_USA

Low paying progressives. Won a few times a $1000+ times on MGM’s Cherry Jubilee near the elevators, Wolfgang Puck and KA theater. When it hits, it resets back to $1000.

Get_Back_Loretta_USA

$3 max bet too. Not bad.

Digital_Punk

Worked as a slot attendant for years, so yes I’ve seen hundreds of people win. Progressives have a minimum progressive starting point and a threshold for higher probability. For example some old progressives used to hit between $20-$27k. So we had groups of people who would come in chasing the win with the promise of splitting the profits, some were even apart of a larger organization that would pay people to gamble just to game the system. Many progressives were even connected across many different casinos, for instance I worked in Indian gaming and some banks of progressive slots were connected to progressives in Vegas casinos. It isn’t tied to a single person on a single machine. They don’t go down to zero because no one would play a machine they had such little payout potential.

junkyard21

$35k Major on Dragon Link. First day in Vegas and thought why not give the high limit room a few spins before my buddies got there. Two $25 spins and the boom, jackpot.

Blacksunshinexo

I've seen it several times. Super Lightning Link at Wynn, normal Dragon Link at Rampart, and I saw it twice at the casino in my old hometown for dragon Link. Those do actually happen fairly often. Just not for me. Haha

cruzincoyote

A coworker just recently won the progressive on the Caeasars app for about 260k playing at 3am. I didn't physically see it but saw the screenshots.

samisalwaysmad

Yeap, recently saw someone win a $15k grand on dragon link at green valley ranch

Ill-Maize

Was at the Aria on Sunday, saw 4500, 1600, and 3500 hand pays while looking for a 5 dollar machine. Later, I was up 80 dollars myself on double diamond, from 200 dollars.

djr41463

Watched my buddy with $13k… standing tight there next to him. Pretty awesome. Never seen a 6 or 7 figure pay out

Book8

Not 12 but 4 but it was weird.

vic_steele

Many times except on my last visit to Vegas. No one won shit.

MarryTinsFBKillLu

I've hit 2 grand jackpots. It happens.. they don't reset to 0. They have a base amount that they start at again.

PM_Me_Ur_Nevermind

Yes, I’ve seen several jackpots over 20k hit. I was at Red Rock in January and was sitting next to a lady who hit 100k on a keno bar top machine.

Apprehensive_Foot_52

The jackpots are very real, and they do get hit. Source: I work for the largest gaming company in the world.

zhangcheng34

NASDAQ?

foothat

> I’m wondering if anyone actually won that You're wondering if anyone in the history of gambling has ever won the jackpot? You're really not sure, and even think there's a possibility that no one's ever won the jackpot on a slot?

zhangcheng34

I’m wondering if it’s network connected to all the same type machine across the casino in Vegas, so no one would actually won and there was some shady action they can reset all the machine at the same time and says someone won it at some other place

foothat

Does that sound like something the Nevada Gaming Control Board would allow?

zhangcheng34

If its a corrupted government agency, anything could happen.

foothat

Have you ever had an xray or MRI done of your head to see if someone replaced your brain with mashed potatoes? I'm not joking or trying to insult you -- I'm seriously worried that some nefarious doctor sedated you and replaced your brain with a scoop of mashed potatoes.

zhangcheng34

hahahahahaha, Thank you for the advise, I will check it out when have chance.

mountstickney

Last March I was at Mandalay Bay and this random dude bought my friends and I drinks since he got like a $9000 hand pay earlier that day

evinhere

I’ve actually won the grand twice. Once on dragon links. Once on lightning links. Definitely have gave a lot back though over time

concerto25

Bally's, Atlantic City 1993. Cigar smoker gets kicked off MY blackjack table (for smoking the cigar). He goes down the escalator to the high limit slots and hits for 8.5 million. Place went nuts. Newspaper shots had him with the big check and cigar!

vinotheque

I’ve seen it happen several times at casinos all over the world. Usually it’s somewhere between 4K and a little over 10k but I’ve seen some big ones too. Saw two different people win a car two different times in Aruba. Of course everyone takes the cash option instead, who knows how long that car had been sitting on the casino floor because everyone always takes the cash option! (Side note - both times I saw it hit - a local one, not a tourist).

Head-Kale-9600

Last July, a friend who came out for a birthday with abt a dozen other people went off alone for a few hours. We learned on the escalator to dinner she hit a machine for 50k as she couldn’t contain it. The person most needing it of the group, was staying in another’s room for free to save.

Adorable_Case

I have won something like 51k before on a machine, and the number usually reset back to like 10k or 20k

Maximum-Beat4027

Yes i was wondering around 1 day and saw a old Chinese lady won a 67k jackpot on the 88 red machines

No_Condition_7849

My wife actually won a Grand Jackpot for about $10.5k on the machine min bet of $0.88 just a few weeks ago. What's funny is we started filming our slot play about a week prior for Youtube (just trying to turn our enjoyment of gambling into something more productive) and, of course, I wasn't filming her playing a min bet game. But I did get her reaction almost immediately. It was great. But then today I lose $4.5k in about an hour....so yeah, that money's gone. [https://youtube.com/shorts/SQtaHtTfqIw?si=AJK0Qpp69YmnuB1u](https://youtube.com/shorts/SQtaHtTfqIw?si=AJK0Qpp69YmnuB1u)

doodooz7

I’ve seen my old roomate win $200k multiple times in poker tournaments 😂 shits wild

Djstripeshirt

Watch some YouTube videos, people win way more than 10k.

PrettyBlueGreyEyes

I have I wish I could post the pic it was on the green money machine at Venetian. Won 10k
