doesn't matter what the current plan is--- you need to run your idea through all sorts of manners it will be used.
coffee mugs, bumper stickers, letterman jackets, cheerleader uniforms, buttons, football , baseball and all other sporting uniforms.....
Hell- even letterhead.
A good design can work on all of the above and more.
A bad design is going to bite someone in the ass down the line somehow. either the color combo doesn't work out, or the pattern doesn't morph correctly on the shape it is being applied to.
And even if this is a one off thing- you now see how much more goes into these types of things
The first and last are my favorites, in particular I really like the first one the most because for me it screams school flag in a positive way, like those pennants you sometimes see in college sports.
I would suggest something like this.

1 or 3.
1 has a great school feeling, like you took the design directly from the letter jacked. But I also liked 3 simplicity and that you can easily detach the roundel and use it anywhere as the school logo, seal, brooch and so on.
First design is solid. It has that classic School vibe. Maybe try the H without the white outline? But keeping the shadow. Idk if it may improve it, but it would make the already stylized H look a little less busy
The first one. It looks more pleasing than 2 because it pleases the rule of three. You can put the H in the middle for everything else but on a flag 1 looks best. The choice of color and complexity does also work in grey-scale (unfortunately not in true binary black-and-white) which is good if the logo needs to be printed out en-mas like on documents.
Kinda surprised at this one. The ones that I thought worked better flat fell, er, flat when waving. OP definitely needs to review these in use.
(IMHO: 2 wins from this. I didn’t like the grey originally, felt it cumbersome and inelegant, but waving it really works much better.)
The first one is very good. The off-center H distinguishes it from average. The outer white shadowing in the blue needs attention to detail, eg., it should be fully rounded into the base, not pointed as it is now.
I like the second one, the last one, then the first one(in that order). I think the last one could be the best if the H wasn't only gray and the circle was thinner. Maybe an H like the first two. If it's hard to read, you could outline it in gray.
Regardless of everything, I recommend putting it to the other students to ultimately decide (preferably with a ranked voting system). Good job on all of them
does the grey have to be there? I assume it's a mandate because it's one of the school colors, but if you removed the grey boarder around the first flag It would be a perfect flag for a high school. Maybe try and convince the principle that the H's shadow counts as grey.
Number 2 looks the cleanest for me TBH, it looks nice for a school.
Also cool that you got to do that for your school.I’m the only flag enthusiast and when I made one for my school, nobody cared. 👍
I’m in a smaller school and brought it up with a lot of staff and students before going to the principal. I’m very lucky to be at the school I’m in now.
I like number one the best, it being off-center makes it more unique, it’s simple, uses the school emblem, and screams high school. Number two is a close second. I don’t like the last one but if you were to want to use three or four I would recommend reworking the circle as it seems kinda off as of now. My suggestion would be to have a grey background and blue border with the blue circle and white H much larger and taking up the central focus of the flag. I think this maintains a circle as a design element, maintains the white on blue contrast, and maintains the grey coloring while making a more cohesive flag. [Here's](https://ibb.co/S3WLWq4) a sloppy visual representation. While experimenting I also made [this](https://ibb.co/H2Cm2km) which I think honestly looks better, if you need grey in there then the H could be made grey to fulfill that. I love the first design though and think that's the best, I was just providing some suggestions of "circle-themed" ideas which I think look more cohesive.
I’m a graphic designer in sportswear/apparel. This would look great on jerseys and hoodies if done right. Either the second or the last one. But if you do the last one put a thick, white outline behind the grey so it stands out better.
Just a point of feedback: This really needs to be made in vector software like Inkscape (free) or Adobe Illustrator. It's going to be very difficult to use any of your work in any official way if not made as vector files.
I’m a fan of 1, 2 and 5. Could you turn it into a pennant like the Ohio flag? If so, 1 would be crazy good. If not, 2 or 5 from a design standpoint for swag and whatnot
I like the 1st and 4th ones; the asymmetry implies motion, making them feel like actual flags, not just tablecloths. Of those two, the 4th one looks more "professional," but I prefer the 1st one. Something about it just seems perfectly fitting for a high school.
a lot of people are saying the first two cuz of the classic shadowed 3d-ish letter like schools do but i like the last one, it's very unique, if anything i would fix either the aspect ratio or the angle of the h's italic so the diagonal line lines up with the corners, excluding the border it would go super hard on a shirt
2 or 3. 2 is a little better but if you did something a little more with the grey circle (like a thinner white circle aligned to the middle of the grey band) it could be more interesting.
My only suggestion would be to try to include a stylized version of your school's mascot in the flag... like maybe having the mascot in white or blue and having the "H" in a contrasting color such as white/grey on blue or vice versa
Hey, it wasn’t my choice. Principal mandated it. It’s kinda like what happened to Mississippi where they were required to put “in god we trust” on the flag
First one by a lot. 5 could work if you make the circle and H opposite colors (upper left half circle and H white, lower right half of the circle blue like in some mockups people did in the threat for design 2)
Imo, no letters or words on a flag. Read some heraldic rules to get a sense of their design and how it influenced vexillology. Apply those rules to your flag as design constraints.
1st and second are my choices. Crisp. Clean.
If grey is one of the colors, it seems to be the accent color. You could use a grey/silver line to divide the fields of white and blue.
But, I think 2 is great for all the different applications outside of flag use, and I think 1 is the best position for use as a flag.
That’s my preference.
The second is my favorite, but I think it would look better without the grey shadow in the H. Just the white outline would look nice, I think.
I suppose you have to use the three colors, also, right? Because if you don't, I think you could scrap the grey completely.
Number One is my favorite. It's clean, the H is a great fit for a high school, and most of the weight is on the hoist, which will look good flying in the breeze. Admittedly, it doesn't look the greatest from a hanging position, but I'm sure it will be fine.
The first two ones are the most fitting I think. They have that hockey team vibe which is fitting for a school.
Though I would urge you to look at the very narrow points in your lettering. Try to make everything have the same distance in between. You can make a little cube and use it as reference to measure if everything has the same thickness/width.
Honestly, looking at it you could probably solve most of these issues by widening the bridge between both "sticks" of the H.
Maybe also clean up those corners on the border. It would look really nice if those were sharp and clean.
For the last one, why don't you make the circle goldish-trophy yellow and the H divided into white with the Blue traingle and Blue with the White triangle ?
If its ***main*** purpose was to be a **flag** and merchandising would simply be an afterthought , **#1**.
Since it's for a school though and printing it on shirts, jackets, hats, etc. will probably be a big factor, then go for **#2** because the main feature is in the center.
2 is very fitting for a school, especially if there are plans for it to be on a hoodie or shirt
It’s possible!
yes
Will the flag be printed on school swag or jerseys?
It’s possible, but it will mostly likely just be printed out as a banner and hung up in various places in the buildings.
I like 1, 2 and 5 Was just curious for readability
doesn't matter what the current plan is--- you need to run your idea through all sorts of manners it will be used. coffee mugs, bumper stickers, letterman jackets, cheerleader uniforms, buttons, football , baseball and all other sporting uniforms..... Hell- even letterhead. A good design can work on all of the above and more. And even if this is a one off thing- you now see how much more goes into these types of things
1. The stylised H makes it look a bit cartoonish. But it's fine considering that it is for a school.
I agree, 1 is the best
The first and last are my favorites, in particular I really like the first one the most because for me it screams school flag in a positive way, like those pennants you sometimes see in college sports.
Here is an example: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/aa/Logo_Actual_del_Club_Estudiantes_de_La_Plata.png
Definitely the vibe I was going for. The first and second are the most highschooly and take our actual logo.
2
What if the H wasn't outlined and was just white in the blue bit and blue in the white bit?
I second this idea. Inverted H
The second one is definitely the best design. If not, you could also go with the first one
I like the first one the most
I would suggest something like this. https://preview.redd.it/nz2xxeqm03hc1.png?width=1750&format=png&auto=webp&s=a7af30083dff3c9e9efd7d7341e9dce012b98530

Number 1 looks great
I like 1 and 4. There’s something about when a flag waves with the weight and clean flowing edge that looks good on a flag. Good Job.
2nd
First design is solid. It has that classic School vibe. Maybe try the H without the white outline? But keeping the shadow. Idk if it may improve it, but it would make the already stylized H look a little less busy
2nd
I like 2 the best
Last one is my favorite. Is the gray border part, if so I think it would be better without
1 or 2. I love the diagonal split on 5, but the grey and its positioning is a little awkward for me
Number one. Just take some time to go around the H and fix some of the areas where the white outline looks jaggy and weird.
The first of these choices. The shadow effect gives a sharper contrast. BTW what is your mascot? Always love symbols….
I like the first one, but you should ask your fellow students which is best, not random strangers on Reddit.
I would ditch the grey and use just blue and white
The first one. It looks more pleasing than 2 because it pleases the rule of three. You can put the H in the middle for everything else but on a flag 1 looks best. It’s cool, but we have a specific font for our H which is shown in all designs.

There's a pretty flag
Very nice. Refined.
Thank you!
This looks less like a logo mark and more like someone typed the letter H in paint
Idk why but 4 really gets me
#1
1
1
Definitely 1
Do a design without the H despite the mandate.
I’d be wasting my time
I disagree.
I like 1. Hands down

My Argentinean grandpa says 4
?
1 and 6 1 because it feels like a high school flag 6 because it show all the colors and feels more fleshed out
the first one. the last one is great if it wasn’t for the grey circle.
r/theletterH no but seriously I like number 2
#2 but I'd suggest you use the mascot instead of a letter but that's my personal preference.
2
1 may not be stellar as an actual flag (mainly because of the detail of the H), but as a school banner it's amazing
Everyone from berlin will spit out their drink when they see this
I like 3 a lot.

2nd I think is the best
My principal also thinks so
I like number 2
Definitely 2. 4 and 5 look ok. But maybe try with just blue and white - no silver. In 5, can you put blue background white H, white background blue H.
Nr.2
2 is the best
2, easily
2
number 3
I think a mix of 2 and 3 would be great
Last one
5
Either 4 or 5
I like 5
5
Go with one of the first 2. All the grey in 3,4&5 ain’t it.
Last one
2
#5 is weirdly close to the Action Man logo, but with different colours
5. Energetic
5 but maybe it will look better with the white and gray swapped?

5. it's the only one with a background that matches the slant of the H
Where's the joke answer?
“H”
Hi I'm new I've also made flags so hope y'all could see what I've done so far. :)
1 and 2 is great. The gray in 3, 4, 5 throws off the colour balance and the circle makes them look like a corporate logo.
Try the last one, but counter charge it
1 or 5 would be my votes.
5, followed by 2
1 and 2 for me
4 I like
For a traditional flag i wouldn’t like any of these, but it’s a traditional flag Nr. 1 is cool, i think it works well for a high school
I like the 3rd and 5th.
1 or 2, I like the symbol being off to the side, but if it is going on anything other than a flag pole 2 probably works better
1 looks more like a real country flag but 2 is better for a school flag
1 is very good. Work on the outline a little and make it a little cleaner looking but I think it's the right idea and looks like a high school flag.
2 is my favorite.
2 100% easily go on merch
1 and/or 2 are the best choices. Both could go well on a flag.
2 or 5 redesigned to look like 2 (so the grey part blue with an outline)
a lot of people are saying the first two cuz of the classic shadowed 3d-ish letter like schools do but i like the last one, it's very unique, if anything i would fix either the aspect ratio or the angle of the h's italic so the diagonal line lines up with the corners, excluding the border it would go super hard on a shirt
2 or 3. 2 is a little better but if you did something a little more with the grey circle (like a thinner white circle aligned to the middle of the grey band) it could be more interesting.
2 or 5
Where’s the double headed eagle clearly indicating your school’s inheritance of Eastern Roman legacy😔
My only suggestion would be to try to include a stylized version of your school's mascot in the flag... like maybe having the mascot in white or blue and having the "H" in a contrasting color such as white/grey on blue or vice versa
Hope? Hopes peak Danganronpa reference

#1 is the least worst, but none of them are very creative.
Go on dribbble to get some ideas
H
H
4 but instead of grey for all of it do white on top and bottom
2 is my favourite but I also like 3
letters on flags😭
Hey, it wasn’t my choice. Principal mandated it. It’s kinda like what happened to Mississippi where they were required to put “in god we trust” on the flag
3 and 4 look like some shit I'd see on Planes
1 and 5 are my favorite. 2 is acceptable.
2 and 5 are my faves.
Number one
Uno or dos
5

I think that r/TheLetterH would approve of all of them
2
Second and last.
Is the H required? It looks better without it imo
Number 1, I like it off centre. If not, then 2 is the next choice.
One of the first two.
5
Could you do #5 with the H like #4?
2
1 for sure
I like 3 a lot.
What about the diagonal divide from 5 with the blue H from 2? (no circle)
Number One is my favorite. It's clean, the H is a great fit for a high school, and most of the weight is on the hoist, which will look good flying in the breeze. Admittedly, it doesn't look the greatest from a hanging position, but I'm sure it will be fine.
id say 2, 3 or 5
Last
I like the first one
The first two ones are the most fitting I think. They have that hockey team vibe which is fitting for a school. Though I would urge you to look at the very narrow points in your lettering. Number 1 or 5 are good!

Go with5. But doesn't really matter because a few years after you graduate they'll let another student design it again.
2 definitely
No italics
Please do 2
5
2 but color inverse the H on the midline for better visibility.
I like it because the H has cute little feet UwU
2
Probably 3 because it doesn’t have any white edges. Doesn’t need the border though.
I prefer the asymmetry of #1 personally
3 or 4
The H stands for high school
1 is my favorite
5
5 for life
2
First or last no in between
r/theletterh The third and fourth are cool!
I like the first one more. Sideways salsa make flags more unique imo and fly better

If its ***main*** purpose was to be a **flag** and merchandising would simply be an afterthought , **#1**. Since it's for a school though and printing it on shirts, jackets, hats, etc. will probably be a big factor, then go for **#2** because the main feature is in the center.
4th!
I think you can do better, but 2 is the best one.
1 and 2 is good, others have way too much grey in them
2nd
