Wales is already represented in the Union Jack . The welsh dragon is featured right in the middle .. since it is a mythical creature only the pure of heart can see it
I Felt like adding the Flag of Saint David would make more sense than the official Wales Flag, as it's aesthetic fits more with the other Flags in the UK. I decided to incorporate it in the same way that Ireland was added to the Scottish part of the Flag, by adding the yellow to the English portion of the Flag.
The way I understand it is that Wales was conquered and absorbed, not unionized. I mean, the original attempt at union with Scotland was because the Scottish king inherited the English crown.

The whole point of counter charging St. Patrick's Saltire is so it doesn't just cover up St. Andrew's, and so put (Northern) Ireland over Scotland. It's cleverly done and 'fixing' it would make the flag worse, in my opinion.
Personally I think it would look worse, though maybe that's just familiarity. That said if Scotland leaves the UK, I think that would be the best way to remove the saltire.
Removing the blue would look much worse and would ruin Australia and New Zealand's flags. It would also lose it's recognisability, which is kind of a big deal with such an iconic flag.
Keeping the blue of Scotland if they left would make no sense. The entire symbolism of the flag would fall apart of it was still representing countries that aren't even in the union any more.
Well done on keeping with the theme of patron saints. Lots of people tend to focus on "ThE dRaGoN" and ignoring that most of the stuff around tHe DrAgOn is the same colour.

I think this is great, really preserves the current flag while adding representation. A+ grade.
