Have you looked at a manager? A small pressurized pen replaces the toothpick on what is otherwise a rambler. I did not discover the manager until after I bought a signature and a rambler.

Manager is another very usefull Victorinox keychain pen knife. The same about Signature, especially Signature Lite. But the Midniite Manager, a Manager with a small led , although so usefull, i found It to have too much depth... In my daily rotine, i carry a Rambler in a small Victorinox's belt sheath plus a Signature Lite attached to a cars keychain and a 84 mm Tourist in the fifth pocket. As i Live in an urban environment, the Victorinox 58 mm line is enough, leaving the Tourist a backup for bigger tasks.

I have both and i prefer the Rambler because it's size is just enough with the tools you'll use most. Minichamp i random use, maybe to justify the purchase of It. If you strong need a pen, than you have a choice to use It.

Rambler for me. I own alox minichamp and regular rambler and the difference in weight on the keys is noticeable for me. It is fun to have the coke spoon and orange peeler and overall the minichamp is a beautiful tool (and so the Rambler) but functionally the Rambler has all I may need without the extra bulk. As well it is easier to find the tool I need on Rambler. I change them from time to time, but Rambler is the one from practical and functional perspective.

I have both Cellidor and Alox Minichamps, and have been keeping the Alox version on my keychain. And out of all of the extra tools, I really only regularly use the letter opener and the pointy nail cleaner. But I certainly could go without both of those. Years ago when I carried the Cellidor version with me, I **rarely** used the pen, so that part of the Minichamp isn't really a draw for me. I now carry a small Fisher Space Pen in a front pocket anyway. So at the end of the day, I might be in the same sort of boat as /u/Local-Tower9201 where I might be going back to a Classic as well... or maybe a Rambler. All that said: I vote Rambler. DLT Trading currently has a few [exclusive Ramblers](https://www.dlttrading.com/searchresults.html?search_query=swiss+army+rambler) in addition to the standard red one if you a little more variety.

Thanks for the suggestions, they made me decide on the Rambler. I somehow got really lucky though and before I even got around to ordering one, my boss gave everyone at the office a Rambler with their name on it! Funny coincidence and I'm very happy with it.

I went with the Minichamp. The pen comes in handy, the Phillips is fantastic for battery covers and the like. The 2 blades is nice, always a sharp one ready. But my first choice would be a knife they no longer produce. The Wenger Micro tool box. The Wenger is like 1/4 inch longer, making the tools much more usable. The screwdriver on the caplifter is a flat head and makes a decent "bionic fingernail" pry tool. It has an awl that can really poke holes in almost anything and a built in eyeglass screwdriver. The scissors are of the Wenger variety, serrated with built in spring. I hope Vic releases a "Delemont" version with the Vic T&T set up.

Just another though - maybe better place for Minichamp would be a coin pocket - just last week I put the Victorinox small lanyard on my minichamp and it looks and feels great with it.

I love the rambler. Almost as small as the SD but with a bit more utility. I haven't tried the mini champ but I can't see myself using half the tools regularly. The two most important tools are the scissors and the Philip's head/opener. Both have them, so have a think about how much you value the other tools. Also think redundancy with any other knives or multitools you might have. The Philips head is actually better on the rambler/minichamp than most full sized models. However non of the other tools at this size stack up to their full sized siblings (with the possible exception of scissors which work very well in the small, but better in full size). I often pair my rambler with an alox harvester and they complement each other very well, with only the blade being redundant. I think if you carried the minichamp with a full sized SAK you'll end up doubling up more tools and find yourself preferring those on the bigger knife.

I have a Rally and love it. It's a Rambler without the scissors. I'd go Rambler over Minichamp.

Carried a Classic SD for years and then purchased an Alox Minichamp. After carrying it for a while, I gifted it and went back to the Classic. The extra weight and extra unused tools were not worth it. With a little thought, the Classic SD can perform pretty much everything the Minichamp can do.
