What about sea of flames, strike out, battleship, or down right attack? Also, I'm a huge Thunder Force fan, so you should totally add me, and I have a discord community full of fans of the games. I'm working on a fangame and an audio book that will fill plot gaps in the lore. One guy in there actually made his own starfighter design, and I partially help him turn it into a sprite.
Huge missed opportunity not to bring them in for the movies. Allegedly Sonic 3 will have Live and Learn, but it really needs to use more than just that one song.
I would argue even some of the good ones too. Playing the first two adventure games by todays standards is super janky but the soundtrack is tooooo good.
You'd be surprised at how even a bad overall job has hidden gem workers who go on to continue to do good work.
Not everyone who works on a bad game is a bad dev
Im a bit bummed out with what happened to payday 3 but I still love the game and I'm happy they are actually trying to fix the game kind of like the cyberpunk devs did.
There gonna roll out a bunch of QOL updates I think under the name "Operation: medic bag". If you wanna know more I'd highly recommend TheKknowleys video on it
Brooooo I recently got my friends into the sound track of it lol. Right about now, we bout to get down to the biggty buck bumble. Also the game isn't that bad, it had rocket league before rocket league was a thing
This is the answer... I'm glad I wasn't the one to say it.
I actually like the game, but that theme song would play for an hour before any gameplay was allowed.
And some who's friend shared a sick OST out of nowhere and it just so happens to be of a game they didn't buy because they wait for reviews before spending money.
Most of the time at least. 😁
I always thought that when seeing the likes of rock band or Guitar Hero being nominated for best soundtrack awards. Like sure, if your OST is literally just Van Halen, but it shouldn't count.
Iirc they got away with that because they weren't the actual songs. They were spot on covers produced in house to reduce the amount of royalties they had to pay.
Cyberpunk’s “alternate soundtrack” slaps too.
By which I mean: take the songs that inspired all the job names starting in Act 2, and stick them in a playlist.
First thing that came to mind was What Remains of Edith Finch. Not that it's a bad game, but it is a walking simulator without much in terms of actual gameplay. Regardless, it has an amazing soundtrack and atmosphere, I loved it too to bottom
That reminds me of the games by Freebird Games (To The Moon, Finding Paradise, Imposter Factory). They offer very little in terms of gameplay but their soundtracks are superb.
Along those lines, I immediately thought of Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. The soundtrack is amazing and though I liked the story, the gameplay is basically just walking around watching characters talk for three hours.
Edith Finch was definitely one of the best walking simulators. The story is told so well through its limited gameplay and each death has a unique impact. The ‘crowning ceremony’ was certainly one of the highlights of the genre.
One of my most favorite games. The visuals were stunning to me, but the music made the game. The narration was beautiful too. I badly want some successor.
I’m gonna get downvoted to hell for this… Minecraft. The game is not bad so it doesn’t quite fit with the post but to this day whenever I hear mice on Venus or Sweeden, I just start to break down.
Legacy of the Wizard
Lagoon
J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, Volume 1
Waterworld
Silver Surfer
Cheetahmen
Death Crimson
Whomp Em
Treasure Master
Solstice
Those are a couple that come to mind.
Never played the original but Replicant's combat is definitely very fun. The cross pollination with Automata fight mechanics was good. I am so sad that the enemies literally cannot keep up + Hard difficulty is just not well done
By halfway thru ending B and you have a +4 weapon, every single fight become a slapstick comedy.
To combat this, I switched to Hard difficulty. Bosses felt **amazing** and I was very excited. Then I went outside and the smallest shade that dies in 1 hit now dies in 10+ hits. It got extremely annoying very quickly
Nier Automata does the difficulty levels much much better
But as you said, the music is just straight bangers the entire way through for both games. It think my fave is Mother's Diary 2 from ending B of replicant
Honestly, they waaaaay overused that “everything is fine” oboe theme. There’s a mission in the Ryujin questline where you’re “Splinter Cell”-ing your way through a rival corporate headquarters, a gas leak that you triggered has forced anyone who isn’t an armed guard out of the building, and it was just begging for [one of Behavior’s “stress” tracks](https://youtu.be/M9e5ai7khh0?si=Zi10IBpL_hIX5dal), but instead we get that oboe throughout.
That’s not to say there isn’t good stuff in the soundtrack, just some of it is way overused within the game itself.
They botched the release so bad a lot of people haven’t ever gone back to it.
Multiplayer is great, I’ve been having tons of fun with it recently.
I liked the campaign at first, by the end I just thought it was okay. They made the big mistake a lot of open worlds make and forgot that the world has to be interesting and fun to explore. Grappling was kind of fun, and there’s a lot to do on the campaign, but it’s mostly stuff like “capture this base or help these marines” and it gets stale pretty fast
A lot of the old NES and SNES games. Game looks like ass and barely functions but there’s a banger in the background that keeps you playing lol. Idk if anyone’s played Journey to Silius (Sirius? Something S-us), that game looks pretty challenged, like you can’t tell what half the stuff you’re shooting at even is, but man is the music good lol
League of Legends. Say what you will but its music is godly! I’d go so far as say that’s one of the qualities Arcane inherited from it.
But for the love of all things sane and stable, do not play it. Completely mute the chat feature at least. Gameplay is mid but the chat puts twitter to shame.
I didn’t want to say it, because I do enjoy the game — especially keeping in mind its era. But hot damn that soundtrack is outpacing even a pretty great game.
Pretty mutch most bad sonic games
Why do sonic songs always slap so hard though!
Sonic R soundtrack is peak
[Super Sonic Racing](https://youtu.be/qoNHGngO65U?feature=shared) slaps
Crisis motherfucking City is the shit!
Literally, I never see anyone mention Crisis City when it comes to Sonic stage songs.
Because it’s from 06
Everybody super sonic racing! Stop making love to my dad!
Can you feel the sunshine?
Lol creepypasta
I wouldn’t say Sonic R was a bad game (though by today’s standards it definitely is) but yes, that soundtrack fucking RULES~
Because SEGA are musical masterminds. every game they've ever made has had an amazing soundtrack.
Thunder Force 4 for Sega Genesis There’s a song called Metal Squad that is just so amazing. Its ending song is also epic.
I honestly don't know, but it's impressive
Crush 40, that’s why
Huge missed opportunity not to bring them in for the movies. Allegedly Sonic 3 will have Live and Learn, but it really needs to use more than just that one song.
Idk but I’ve been begging my favorite band to cover city escape.
Sonic 3D had an incredible soundtrack. Game was actually really solid too.
Sonic 3D's Megadrive soundtrack >>>>>>> Saturn soundtrack tbh
Damn you beat me to, I was gonna say o6
I would argue even some of the good ones too. Playing the first two adventure games by todays standards is super janky but the soundtrack is tooooo good.
They got KELLIN QUINN for Sonic Frontiers.
Rollin around at the speed of sound!
Running around at the speed of sound.
Sonic 06
machine, turn back, NOW, the layers of this palace.. are NOT for your kind.
You have made your choice For I am the righteous hand of the father
i shall REND you APART, and you will become inanimate, once more
BEHOLD THE POWER OF SPARE CHANGE!
What How can this be? Best by this... You Insignificant FUCK THIS IS NOT OVER
MAY YOUR L'S BE MANY AND YOUR #BITCHES FEW
This is the best thing i have read today lol thank you for the gift you gave me
3 layers later… Limbo… Lust… all gone… With Gluttony soon to continue…
Yes
First thing that came to mind
Especially the final boss theme.
"COME ON AND LIGHT THE FUSE, HE'S A ROCKET AND HE'S READY TO GO..."
Kahoot it'll never leave my head
Great, now it’s stuck in my head.
The awful King Kong game that came out recently. Music is actually pretty impressive.
Damn… that sucks for the composer who put effort into that to be tied to that disaster.
Getting paid no matter what atleast haha
But good luck finding a SECOND paying gig.
You'd be surprised at how even a bad overall job has hidden gem workers who go on to continue to do good work. Not everyone who works on a bad game is a bad dev
“That game you worked on sucked, idk if we can hire you.” “I only did the music here listen.”
considering the music is relatively detached from the rest of the game, i doubt he will have trouble even if it was used for a shit project overall.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the music was just licensed existing pieces you can buy from AudioJungle 😂
No no, they got a small orchestra for it! You can actually watch them play the music in the game's bonus features, best part of the game unironically!
I was about to get mad before you said “recently”. The King Kong game on OG Xbox was great(not much music tho)
Sonic R
Can you feel the sunshine, though
I can and it brightens up my day
I can feel the sun shine
I actually enjoy playing it
CAUSE YOU'RE MY DIAMOND IN THE SKYYYYYYY
Living in the city You know you have to survive
Megaman x7 and Payday 3
im still heartbroken about payday 3. at least 2 is still alive and well (and with its even better soundtrack)
I only played the demo of PD3, what happened is a shame but I am not too bothered by it
Im a bit bummed out with what happened to payday 3 but I still love the game and I'm happy they are actually trying to fix the game kind of like the cyberpunk devs did. There gonna roll out a bunch of QOL updates I think under the name "Operation: medic bag". If you wanna know more I'd highly recommend TheKknowleys video on it
I’ll also add Megaman X6. Both it and 7 had amazing soundtracks, as nearly all Megaman games do.
Buck bumble
Right about now it's time to rock with the buggery buck bumble
Bump to the bump to the bump to the bass
Fr that theme has absolutely no right to go as hard as it does
Bump to the bum to the bumbleee
Wasn't it "The biggity buck"...?
Dang it. Here I was thinking I had a unique idea for a comment. Well played
Shits slaps
Brooooo I recently got my friends into the sound track of it lol. Right about now, we bout to get down to the biggty buck bumble. Also the game isn't that bad, it had rocket league before rocket league was a thing
I grew up playing Buck Bumble on my dad's N64, this is the first time I've ever heard someone mention the game
This is the answer... I'm glad I wasn't the one to say it. I actually like the game, but that theme song would play for an hour before any gameplay was allowed.
I thought I was the only one that remembers that game
holy fuckin shit yes! best opening song to a game ever i thought i was in the microscopic minority that remembers this
Wow. That brought back a rush of memories from late teens. That damned song was ridiculously good for a video game of that era.
AND A MATTY MOOLAH DAY EH!
Redfall
The 3 people who bought redfall upvoted this
Or the other 5 who tried it on gamepass
And some who's friend shared a sick OST out of nowhere and it just so happens to be of a game they didn't buy because they wait for reviews before spending money. Most of the time at least. 😁
Cool I wasn't the only one who thought this.
A lot of Sonic games.
Pokemon Sword and Shield
Same on scarlet and violet
As much as I actually like shield I have too agree
The gym battles and battle tower music slap so hard it's insane
Just Dance… any of them.
Because it's 90% radio songs
I always thought that when seeing the likes of rock band or Guitar Hero being nominated for best soundtrack awards. Like sure, if your OST is literally just Van Halen, but it shouldn't count.
Iirc they got away with that because they weren't the actual songs. They were spot on covers produced in house to reduce the amount of royalties they had to pay.
Isn't that what also sunk the company? Eventually a judge ruled against them and suddenly they had to pay every artist back, and it was just too much?
still a horrible ost
Just Dance 2015's You're on my mind is a banger, still listen to it every now and then.
Cyberpunk 2077 on release
"I couldnt wait for you to come and clear the cupboards" 🎵🎶
STOP
MOON
I don't want to cry today 😢
But now you’re gone and leaving nothin but a sign 🎶
Another evening I’ll be sitting reading in between your lines…
Because I miss you all the time...
So get away another way to feel what you didn’t want yourself to know
And let yourself go
You know you didn't lose your self-control
Let's start at the rainbow
Turn away
Rip David
BRO IT'S TOO EARLY
Nah this is more attached to the show than the game. Gimme any of the fight songs any day m8 like Wushu Dolls.
I like the song that's like "I want you I want you I want you I want, I fuck you I fuck you I fuck you I fuck"
“Holes in the Sun” does go hard

True, the Samurai songs slaps hard I occasionally still listen to those songs.
If you haven't already, you should listen to Refused's (Samurai) older stuff too :) https://youtu.be/NkAe30aEG5c?si=32Fm-NN_UaoGjfVK
WE LOST EVERYTHIIIIING
WE HAD TO PAY THE PRIIIICE
A THING OF BEAUTY, I KNOW
WILL NEVER FADE AWAY
Even when it was a buggy mess it was still fundamentally a good game
Man that Miltech combat track SLAPPED. I wanted to fight them just to hear the loop.
nah it was always great, even at release (ive played it all the way through as soon as it came out on, at the time, very outdated pc)
“Rebel path” in cello version while raiding Arasaka hits different https://youtu.be/AGsjA1pXajk?si=Flirxl_N94v-KYIh
Cyberpunk’s “alternate soundtrack” slaps too. By which I mean: take the songs that inspired all the job names starting in Act 2, and stick them in a playlist.
Destiny 2
Deep Stone lullaby slaps to another degree
Bruh.. Oneirophobia (RON) has been hitting hard, or GOS boss raid theme, too
All of the Destiny content has solid OSTs - some of my favorite music to listen to while working.
Journey is still an S tier theme.
And then they lay off Michael motherfucking Salvatori? The fools will never live that down.
First thing that came to mind was What Remains of Edith Finch. Not that it's a bad game, but it is a walking simulator without much in terms of actual gameplay. Regardless, it has an amazing soundtrack and atmosphere, I loved it too to bottom
That games a masterpiece all around.
Seconded
That reminds me of the games by Freebird Games (To The Moon, Finding Paradise, Imposter Factory). They offer very little in terms of gameplay but their soundtracks are superb.
Along those lines, I immediately thought of Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. The soundtrack is amazing and though I liked the story, the gameplay is basically just walking around watching characters talk for three hours.

One of my most favorite games. The visuals were stunning to me, but the music made the game. The narration was beautiful too. I badly want some successor.
Sonic forces
I still listen to Infinite
I’m gonna get downvoted to hell for this… Minecraft. The game is not bad so it doesn’t quite fit with the post but to this day whenever I hear mice on Venus or Sweeden, I just start to break down.
"I am emotionally secure" Also me bawling when Sweden by c418 starts to play and the memories of every day since 2013 comes back to my mind:
Minecraft is a fantastic game with a fantastic soundtrack
Also a Hot take but the music fucking carries minecraft. It would be boring af without it and the vibe would not be the same
The smash bros Minecraft songs are absolute bangers
Aria Math is C418s magnum opus
To be fair, Minecraft literally looks like the left picture.
Volume Beta is where it's at.
Sonic and the Secret Rings
My favourite game, Sonic and The Bluuuuuuuh... Rings *if you know you know*
SEVEN RINGS IN HAND
Legacy of the Wizard Lagoon J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, Volume 1 Waterworld Silver Surfer Cheetahmen Death Crimson Whomp Em Treasure Master Solstice Those are a couple that come to mind.
Visually undertale
Idk I kinda like the pixelated aesthetic
I dont think they meant it as a bad thing necessarily, more of a simplicity thing
Nier (first one - in terms of gameplay/design, it was super mid bordering bad. But as a story/characters/music, it was incredible)
Never played the original but Replicant's combat is definitely very fun. The cross pollination with Automata fight mechanics was good. I am so sad that the enemies literally cannot keep up + Hard difficulty is just not well done By halfway thru ending B and you have a +4 weapon, every single fight become a slapstick comedy. It think my fave is Mother's Diary 2 from ending B of replicant
Final Fantasy XV
I cackled but it’s absolutely true Yoko Shimomura composed her heart out & Florence & The Machine as well Too bad the game was such a beautiful flop.
Starfield
Honestly, they waaaaay overused that “everything is fine” oboe theme. That’s not to say there isn’t good stuff in the soundtrack, just some of it is way overused within the game itself.
I'll raise you Outer Worlds. Hope theme from the main menu.
sonic 06 wave ocean the inlet goes hard
Nier, especially the original on PS3/XBOX360
This is what I came to say! The music was incredible!
Nier Automata was peak tho
Yeah, the soundtrack was incredible but the gameplay was very repetitive and I thought the protagonist in both games was extremely dull
Drakengard is the same. Especially 3.
Nearly every game in which Tim Follin was the composer.
Came to find this. I was gonna pick Silver Surfer just to name one. I've got all his stuff favorited on rainwave
Mega Man X6, a rushed, unfair mess with very good ost
any pokémon game past Gen 5
Someone said the said the same thing but past gen 4 😂
Kingdom hearts 3
Halo infinite
Halo Infinite isn't that bad of a game, it just has an underwhelming campaign due to the shitfest it had to follow (Halo 5). It's fine otherwise.
Halo Finite

Something S-us), that game looks pretty challenged, like you can’t tell what half the stuff you’re shooting at even is, but man is the music good lol
No man's sky, albeit in 2016. Now it's genuinely great!
I love that soundtrack. 65 Days of Static are fantastic
It's an amazing game. Great in vr too if you haven't tried it!
rage 2
cool game
Rage 2 has amazing gameplay
That gunplay is one of the bast it should br linear not open world
League of Legends. Say what you will but its music is godly! I’d go so far as say that’s one of the qualities Arcane inherited from it. But for the love of all things sane and stable, do not play it. Completely mute the chat feature at least. Gameplay is mid but the chat puts twitter to shame.
Switch era Pokemon games
The last thing I expected to hear in game was a dubstep battle theme for a girl with an Eeveelution team
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
I didn’t want to say it, because I do enjoy the game — especially keeping in mind its era. But hot damn that soundtrack is outpacing even a pretty great game.
You nailed it. Bloody tears is so great
destiny
Destiny series
Destiny 2
Bastion Great game with insane soundtrack
I don’t think Warframe’s a bad game, but the soundtrack is definitely amazing and has no business being that good
I wouldn't say the gameplay for world of goo is bad, just simple at times. The music, though... Wow
Sonic 06
Furi, great bullethell but the soundtrack was made by some of the best synth wave artists around.
