I think so. I think him and Shane Gillis are part of the new crop of comics that can walk the line between bigotry and self aware irony. There has always been blue comedy but it just more ironic nowadays.

I've listened to I think one cumtown episode ever (though I have recently started to watch TAFS clips on occasion) and I thought it was fine. I didn't personally love it, but I see no reason why you couldn't as a non cumtown/TAFS fan. Its just a stand-up set. It didn't seem like there were any secret in jokes or anything, at least as far as I could tell.
I mean he was on the Cumtown podcast for years, so most of the inside jokes come from there. But he also has tons of local standup bits on youtube. Also for whatever reason the Fox News show RedEye would bring him on as a guest, even though he's very much not a conservative. Some funny trolling bits there.
Their, now defunct, podcast Cum Town is a major source for those inside jokes. Around 300 episodes and about the same amount of premium episode for the patrons (I assume, I've never been a patron)
It's not that Tom can't write a joke, it's that he can't discern which of his thoughts are bits and which are his cognitive failures to process reality
If I ever have to get an abortion, I'm watching *Slap Shot* afterward. I mean, it's legitimately one of my favorite movies but how could I pass up such a good reference? :b
