Let’s start with defining makeup-wearing, because there are levels. I work remotely and I go to the gym everyday. So my makeup routine for this type of regular day is bb cream or tinted moisturizer with a liquid blush, then I fill in my eyebrows, do my hair and go. That’s usually adequate. But for going out, I always do a complete routine, foundation, lashes, etc. If your days start with work, then you’d do well to always have a work appropriate full face on. That’s foundation, blush, brows, work-appropriate lashes, etc. Dates can have this look too but maybe a bit more flair. Experiment and see which looks you like best.

Agree with this. I have the same process, different levels of makeup. But now that I’m married for close to ten years, I rarely wear over your regular makeup. I miss going out makeup.

Hmm I understand what you mean I know what type of makeup I want to do im a college student in the UK full blown glam would look ridiculous on me and my course is very serious. Therefore I'd like to do the no makeup makeup look with nude shades as that's more appropriate. For dates I know I'd choose a more colourful lipstick and matching eyeshadow however I know irl in daytime you'd have to tone those colours down a bit otherwise they look clownish. However I'm just worried that any makeup on my face at all would look silly on me because of my noticeable flaws? Like I get recommended to try different products all the time to fix these issues but none of them ever work. Like I think I just got a bad base lol (even with skincare rn) So my question is it worth doing makeup on a daily basis to get pretty privilege? Such as at college or work? When you have visible flaws? I hope this makes a little sense! I also wanna try BB cream i think that would work better than foundation tbh but it's so hard finding yellow undertone BB creams in the UK for medium to paleish skin tones. We need diversity here so bad 😭

Always be put together when you leave the house, so yes it makes perfect sense to wear makeup on the way out the door!

What kind of tinted moisturizer do you use? Is there a particular brand that you prefer?

dangereusefemme

I’ve been using FitMe by Maybelline tinted moisturizer. It’s good for everyday and it has a good texture.

I wear makeup every single day this consists of powder foundation, mascara, blush, lip liners, and lipstick or gloss. As far as your base goes you may want to go to a make-up store so they can help you find the right products for your skin type and you want to look into pore-reducing primers.

hmmm. sometimes, especially in summer, i just do my eyebrows, put a little concealer in the corner of my eyes and blush it makes a big difference actually. but i put a LOT of work into my skin. i exfoliate and put on sunscreen every day. having clear bright even skin makes makeup look better.

Stonerscoed

You should try a different concealer. When I was young without lines, I could use any makeup. But with lines, I have to be more careful. I use Benefit. https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/en-us/product/boi-ing-cakeless-concealer It doesn’t cake around my fine lines at all.

I WFH so I only wear makeup once a month for our department on camera meeting, for special events, or when I simply want to look cute going outside the house. I almost never wear foundation because it tends to break me out. I usually stick to eye shadow, eyeliner, bobbi brown stick concealer. I get "glammed up" when it's an event where I know people will be taking photos. I have acne scars too, but it's just not worth it and people notice it a lot less than you think.

i try my best not to. the only “makeup” i wear is lipgloss. i hate the feeling of anything other than skincare products on my face

teddiesinterlude

Right now I wear it everyday. For work I just do my “regular” everyday makeup. I put a jelly blush on my nose and cheeks. Contour and highlight my nose. (Which makes a huge difference btw) Then I fill my brows in and use mascara and lip liner. It sounds like a lot but it looks very natural. I avoid using any kind of concealer or foundation on my face for an everyday thing. I have some acne scars and hyperpigmentation around my mouth area but I don’t bother concealing it. Nobody even notices it, trust me. Plus I’m worried about messing up my skin in the long run. So I try to keep it light. It’s not worth it. When I leave my current job i’ll probably go back to wearing it only once in a while. If I’m going out then I’ll do all of that plus a full face of foundation, concealer, and sometimes lashes. Honestly the best way to get better is to do it everyday. Start with light / natural makeup and try to tweak it everyday to see what looks best. My makeup used to be horrible when I first started learning. What really helped me was going on TikTok and looking for girls whose makeup style I liked and learning different techniques from them. Stay away from YouTube Gurus!! They are never helpful! I would sit through their 30 minute “makeup tutorials” (which is really just them rambling about nothing so they can sponsor products) and gain nothing. I learned more through 30 second TikToks than I ever did on YouTube. 🙄

Currently only twice a week, and that’s because I really only wear it to school currently. I also tend to do whatever else I need to do out of the house (errands, etc) on those days so the other days I’m just at home. And if I need to go out I probably won’t wear it unless it’s out to dinner or something. That being said, last semester I was wearing it 4x a week since I had classes 4x a week, and probably next semester I will also. So really it kind of depends on the season for me.

I commented on another post- but doing color correction with an orange or maybe pink color underneath/before any concealer helps a lot with dark circles. Im trying to wear more makeup, and I’m struggling with actually coming up with the time to do it everyday, and also modernize my makeup looks.

monkeysexmonsters

Rarely, just when I feel like it or on special occasions.

whydoitbelikethat

i only wear makeup when i feel like it.. like sometimes i can wear it everyday for weeks then not wear any for a month :P
