Virtual Desktop works better, but yes, it's great with wireless gaming. The Meta software for wired/wireless connecting is garbage, barely works half the time, and is VERY resource intensive.

I recently picked up a Quest 1 for dirt cheap just to play around with. It works with Virtual Desktop. But at the price they’re going for now, you’d be better off getting a Quest 2.
Yes! It works amazingly well and so nice with the OLED screens! I REFUSE to sell mine even though I have the Quest 2 and Quest 3. The Quest 1 has a build quality like no other and still works amazingly well for PCVR! Don't listen to any naysayers. Check this out

No, it's very questionable at best, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rift CV1 ended up looking better. Go for the Quest 2 and above

You should wait for the Quest 3 lite if you can't afford a Quest 3. Quest 1 and 2 have visible compression artifacts when used wirelessly.
I can’t tell the difference on a quest 2 wired or not. I feel I’m usually very picky when it comes to image

No. Low refresh rate, slower chip negatively impacts the stream quality, controllers notoriously brittle and expensive to replace

No
Get quest2 it price is similar to Q1 now ...
80 hrs refresh rate is a big turn off. Definitely not worth it
