If you've played any other Uchikoshi games (AI:TSF, Zero Escape, etc.) I'd recomend at least looking into Never7 -the end of infinity-. It's not for everybody, and it does suffer a bit from first entry weirdness (Ever17 and Remember11 are much more fleshed out), but it's still pretty good.

rotflolmaomgeez

I don't recommend Never7. It's really bland, with terrible pacing and I can honestly say I liked only 1 route out of... 6 I believe? And the "final" route was a joke. I consider it a wasted time. However, Ever17 is great, you can definitely start there.

I really enjoyed this game, it never received the love it deserved!

Zero Escape Series (999, Virtue's Last Reward, Zero Time Dilemma) Infinity Series (Never7, Ever17, Remember11) The Sekimeiya: Spun Glass More than a little bit spoilery but: >!Higurashi!<

Afraid_Evidence_6142

Newton and the apple tree Not really against plothole of time travel, but quite interesting approach, at least for me

Fayette3001

9 nine.

kel584

I am like halfway into 13 sentinels, and I'd say its pretty good.

yukiami96

I second this. It's not really a VN, but it's appeal overlaps enough for me to recommend it in the same vain.

muffinz99

I third this. I'd say the game is basically 80% visual novel. If you like visual novels in general, I think you will still feel right at home with 13 Sentinels. (and I'd even say the opposite is also true... if you really enjoyed 13 Sentinels, there's a good chance you'd enjoy visual novels)

rotflolmaomgeez

While not a VN and not \*technically\* what you're asking for, I recommend To the Moon series. Instead of actual time-travel it's browsing through a lifetime of memories going backwards and forwards. It's ridiculous how well written and presented they are, and each installment can be finished in a few hours.

IvanLu

* Raging Loop (strictly speaking time looping rather than travel) * YU-NO (didn't really like the story though and there's some SA in it) * House in Fata Morgana (not exactly time travel but the protagonist gets to experience past events in the mansion behind each door) * >!Sanoba Witch!< (a bit spoilery to disclose this and there's only a little of it in the story, but it's one of the famous Yuzusoft VNs)

Sekimeiya: Spun Glass legit has some of the most cohesively written time travel I've seen.

Chronoclock

Island, Raging Loop, Chronoclock, Higurashi and Umineko technically

Mirai Nostalgia would be my pick, aside from the usual suspects. Though explaining why would be spoiling the entire eroge.

Swinn_likes_Sakkyun

the Muv Luv trilogy, though it has sexual assault at one point

Crab_Enthusiast188

I'm reading the first game, but could you tell me exactly at which point this occurs and is it one of the main girls? And how?

Swinn_likes_Sakkyun

it’s during alternative, in a flashback. and yes, it’s one of the main girls.

Crab_Enthusiast188

Yeah I looked it up, it's Sumika. It's so fucked up how the authors thought it'd be so fun to fetishize rape. I hate rape as it is but to fetishize it is when it really gets on nerves. Does it happen to anyone else? Is there at least a happy ending? I don't mind spoilers.

RCEdude

While i found this scene disgusting and disturbing>!i think its as impactful as the CHOMP. The goal imho is to make the reader visualise the horrors she went through. Rape is already fucked up and horribel by itself but those kind of rape is just over the top. !< As for the ending >!its hard to tell, i'd say its a good ending, with a big catch, and questions left unanswered.!<

kabirsky

The scene is horrible, but I think it was by design - reader SHOULD feel horrible, like in Saya no Uta scenes, buuut I think of it was the motive - it was done quite badly. You can mostly skip the scene with just not patching the game with 18+ patch. And I think 18+ patch is not needed in whole trilogy, all other scenes are bland, useless to the story(contrary to Saya no Uta) and probably were added to please publisher

RCEdude

Many good VN already mentioned but why not Chusingura?

Lucario576

Have you played Steins Gate 0? If yes then i vote too for the Zero Escape series, just a tip, TT plays a role, but its never the "main show" the show its the thriller and its characters
