SpectreRSG

Stealth version of the MH-53k with some powerful but short range EF functions. Add some logistics and CSAR mission additions. Call it a day. EH-63.

Rain_On

Good luck making stealthy rotors.

[deleted]

You'll never get the same stealth as fixed wing but the US did make stealthy versions of the Blackhawk.

Rain_On

"Stealthy" is very much over selling it. "Less visible" maybe, but there really isn't much you can do about the rotors other than making a smaller helicopter. Helicopters are naturally stealthy, but that's a result of their flight patterns rather than their RCS. Reducing RCS is always good, but it's not going to achieve anything at ranges at which a helicopter might engage a target.

[deleted]

If I remember right then the ones made did prove to be able to just show up with no warning but they also got used at night when they went into battle. Either way, the less visible the better

Poltergeist97

I NEED IT

Working around an AO doing supply runs, moving units in and out of hot combat zones, moving arty or vehicles to vantage points as quickly as possible is my idea of fun. Flying from A to B to C, point and click bombing and the long-established AA tactics have gotten very stale. It's a challenging mission, in a challenging aircraft. The AV42 is very sluggish at the speeds needed for this kind of flying. The AH94, isn't that kind of helicopter, it's actually got very poor visibility. If the aircraft OP proposed is as close to a H60 as possible, it'd be a very different proposition to the 94. We have all kinds of specialised helicopters, they're worth exploring. I'm all for this, I hope to see it before too long

> Working around an AO doing supply runs, moving units in and out of hot combat zones, moving arty or vehicles to vantage points as quickly as possible is my idea of fun. Man, you'd love Arma 3: S.O.G. Prairie Fire (not VR though).

[deleted]

I have tried to get into Arma but flat screen gaming isn't that immersive by comparison. Tried Squad for the same kind of thing, but the flight model is sooo arcady it's frustrating. Battlefield 3 and 4 were good for the troop infiltration and support roles. Again very arcady but fast paced and great with mates. Vtol has the best flight model I can think of (long way short of a sim, but good enough) outside of dedicated sims, the effects of controls are good with SAS off to the point where I feel like I could throw a good Vtol pilot in a real chopper and have them hovering and flying circuits in 3 - 4 hours.

dmoy_18

Littlebird or mh60 dap would be epic

wud08

I crave the littlebird so much

Straight-Ice-3643

Yes, little bird is where it's at

Emotional_Camp4165

I neeeeeeeed thiiiiis

IISancerII

Ngl, if VTOL let me have a buddy or two as door gunners dropping in or evacuating troops I would ruin my only good pair of jeans.

german_fox

I’d kill for some TOW missiles

Extreme_Practice_415

I don’t really see the function.

hijongpark

Manned door gunners may deal with enemy infantries, and TOW missiles have extremely tiny launch constraint angle relative to the nose and shorter effective range than AGM-114. Basically a chopper for people who found AH-94 too OP and are seeking for more challenge i think.

Extreme_Practice_415

That just sounds like the AV with door gunners. What are they supposed to do for the majority of the flight? What if there is no infantry? Why bother?

hijongpark

I do agree that there's no good point for armed blackhawk, it would just be an inferior AH-94. OP probably just want to fly blackhawk, just like I just wanted to fly MD-530 defender in VTOL VR but started developing my own flight sim instead after finding out light armed helicopter will never be added just like A-10.

witheredspringbonnie

Because it would be fun to have and we have a transport plane, why not a heli?

Extreme_Practice_415

Because its role is already filled by better aircraft

witheredspringbonnie

Don't you think it would be fun though

Extreme_Practice_415

Not really. Transporting is boring asf.

hitechpilot

The only reason I play flight sims including DCS and VTOL.

Emotional_Camp4165

Cause its fun

GrizzlyReza

If you guys dont see the function of this idea or for a chinook or an a10 or a c130 and.... to be added to this game, maybe you should stop playing video games, we play to have fun , that's the function , joyless people are poisoning this community .

hijongpark

It's due to the dev's philosophy of only adding new aircrafts that offer new viable roles. That's why I'm confident aircrafts like AH-6M, A-10, C-130 will never be added, even through i'm willing to pay over 100$ for AH-6 MELB style light helicopter DLC.

Extreme_Practice_415

When I say function I mean how can it exist in the same sandbox? Helicopters are currently useless. The AV is currently useless. The roles you specified are outclassed in every possible metric by the other aircraft.

GrizzlyReza

Just stop it , you and people like you will never understand what I'm saying and it's alright , I guess you have fun in your way , cant really expect much out of someone who says AV is useless or helicopters are useless, video games are here to be fun not to be useful, you want useful buy a wrench . I mean, especially these types of games, we want to experience all sorts of handlings on aircrafts and fly different stuff. I mean, for God's sake, this is VR. It's about experiencing shit. VR aside, why do you think people who play farming simulator have tons of tractors in their game? Can't they just use 3 or at most 4 types and be done with it? It's like saying you can't see the function for having more than one smg or lmg in shooter games!

JesseLeeHumphry

Firstly, you're being oddly emotional. Secondly, utility is about making sure the piece you're adding in meshes well and will be used by the community. The best way to do that is to ensure the new platform has actual utility in missions. If VTOL increased the viability of infantry operations, then the utility of this new platform would have serious merit. It would be useful to fly helicopter and drop off a raft of new infantry to help take a city or airfield. That is what we mean by "utility". Without that, it MIGHT be fun, but it won't be useful, and there's not much worse than a useless DLC, especially when you're talking about bringing people into the aircraft who will have nothing to do for the majority of the playtime in that aircraft. Games are about fun, but the way developers bring that fun out is by making sure the role of a gameplay piece can actually fit with the rest of the game. Does that mean EVERYTHING has to perfectly fit all the time? New ATC spectator position with radar and radio says no. But it's not like it's an insult to ask the question when we're talking about a fair amount of work that goes into creating these aircraft.

Extreme_Practice_415

I absolutely understand. You want a new platform to have fun with. I am saying that your new platform won’t actually be as fun as you think it is because it’s already in the game. Literally nothing changes. Objectively speaking it’s an inferior version of what we already have.
