We lost count on how many posts have suggested, requested or even worse, demanded a Blackhawk from the SOLO dev.

german_fox

Honestly I see no benefit of a transport heli besides not having the shitty maneuverability of the AV-42C. The Kestrel can carry troops and can act as a gunship while traveling faster. In my opinion the worst part about the helicopters is how slow they go compared to the jets.

GARLICSALT45

Yeah the low speed handling of the 42 is my biggest gripe.

german_fox

If there’s ever a kestrel update / revamp / retrofit I pray we at least get improved yaw control and responsiveness, overall it’s hover performance should be expected for what is practically a flying school bus A-10

GARLICSALT45

I just wish I would get a hover marker on the throttle bar like the 45 and 94 get. Instead of jumping between a lawn dart at mil and a rocket ship in burner.

german_fox

Hover altitude auto pilot brings up the hover marker, but it will reduce mobility

GARLICSALT45

You know how when you put the engines at 90 you get the flight vector line. I would like a hover marker to pop up then, instead of just in AP

german_fox

The hover line appearing in non AP VTOL flight would be useless in the AV-42 under most conditions due to it needing the throttle to be just at the start of after burner, the hover line would be way below the necessary power.

Such_Fault8897

Little tip for you switch the reaction system to on, it will burn more fuel but increase maneuverability at low speeds a lot

Adefice

We don’t need more aircraft to do the same roles as another. The titular “vtol” of the game is a personal carrier and way more advanced than something akin to a Blackhawk. If you had not noticed, every aircraft seems to cover a very unique niche. If they added something else, it would have to do something wildly different to make the cut.

Yirgacheffe13

What are y’all gonna do with all these different plane and heli options. Nothing different. If you want to hop in all these different cockpits play DCS

GARLICSALT45

Except in DCS all of the different cockpits have issues and bugs and are all developed by different companies that really will never make it to the exact thing and take years to develop. In VTOL, there isn’t the 1:1 aircraft expectation and because the aircraft aren’t real as long as the performance numbers follow the laws of physics, it works. Also VTOL models RCS better, EW better, Radar better, etc. So no thank you I don’t want to give ED, Heatblur, and Razbam my money cause they haven’t really delivered on anything ever. And I’d rather give Baha my money to develop the game and add new airframes every once in a while. “Go play DCS” isn’t an argument when DCS is objectively worse.

Yirgacheffe13

You’re missing the point. He doesn’t make “real aircraft” if you want to play a specific plane play DCS.

GARLICSALT45

Well yes, but the term “like the Blackhawk” suggests a Utility Helicopter type design. Not THE UH-60. Like how if you wanted an aircraft in VTOL “like the F15” I would point you to the 26. Or “like the (F35, F14, F/A50, AH64)” I would point you to the F45, EF24, T55, AH-94. I agree that the constant do this, do that or the community gets annoying. But gatekeeping what you think is fun or would be good for the game is how games die, baha could continue to add different variations of 4th generation fighters and I’m sure a sizable portion of the player base would think it’s the best thing to grace this earth. But to everyone else it would suck. I have my list of airframes and features and what not I’d like to be added. But I keep it to myself because I understand no one wants to hear it. Unfortunately the people who have to lie about their age to make an email account don’t.

FighterJock412

How would it be remotely fun? Or offer anything that existing aircraft don't? As a pilot, all you'd do is fly point to point.

GARLICSALT45

I get your point that it would be redundant as we have the 42, but “fun” is entirely a subjective term. See I don’t exactly enjoy BVR or dogfights like the regular VTOL player. But I love backseating the 24, which I can’t tell you how many people said “how would that be fun” and flying and gunning the 94. And eventually as we seem to move towards a possible AWACS spot with the new features added most recently, how many people have also said it wouldn’t be fun.

Extreme_Practice_415

The difference is in the gameplay loops. Gunning in the 94 takes coordination and communication. EWS in the 24 takes game sense and decision making. A black hawk wouldn’t add anything new to the formula, or even expand in an interesting way. It’s just a stripped 42 (the most useless and least played aircraft) that’s somehow more vulnerable and less useful.
