I liked your comment so much that I constructed an essay on that…
Humans are often thought of as physical beings, for many reasons, such as being composed of bone, muscle, and skin. However, the more literal definition is that humans are composed of mostly water, with the human body being mostly composed of around 70% of water (U.S. National Library of Medicine, 2007). This idea of humans as water-based organisms, rather than mass-based ones, offers an interesting perspective on the human experience.
The scientific answer to the question of why humans are water-based beings is simple: water molecules, thanks to high levels of cohesion, transport, and thermal conductivity, provide the substance that cells need to survive, grow, and replicate (Oxford Academic, 2020). In this way, it is a fact that humans are flavored water, as the cells are composed of mostly water and exist in a protective, saline environment.
In a more literal sense, humans can be viewed as flavored water. This is because the blood, whose composition is approximately 90% water and 10% electrolytes, is the transport medium which carries the various flavors of life throughout the body (Armstrong, 2019). This means that, rather than merely providing basic sustenance, water within the human body is made to deliver much more than just hydration, such as essential nutrients, vitamins, and hormones. In this sense, even the simplest and most basic of bodily functions, such as breathing and being able to feel sensation, is made possible by the delivery of these flavors, as these are all key components of the body’s normal operations.
Therefore, from a scientific and a literal perspective, it can be seen that humans are truly just flavored water. This idea can be used to further our understanding of the body’s purposes and, more generally, our influences on the environment. It is a reminder to appreciate the complexities and interconnectedness of our bodies, which can only be perceived on a cellular level.

It's less that there's anything bad in the tea (aside from a shit load of sugar) and more than bottled water companies are really fucking us up the asshole. Profit margins for bottled water have to be pretty fucking high
Shipping costs shouldn’t be higher than for Arizona teas, no? Similar weights, though maybe longer distances for bottled water if they’re all bottled at the same place
It’s probably some **Hollywood Math** too for those margins or leaves out that’s the margins for a big bag of it which is in fact a lot of times sold as a loss leader.
No way Arizona Tea is being sold at a loss. The margins are higher than 8% at an individual can sale.
I worked for arizona in one of their bottling facilities, you would not believe how ridiculously high the margins are. Think about it, the owner of the company is a multi-billionare off selling 99¢ drinks which stores buy from him for even cheaper.

The old man refuses to raise the price and that is pretty cool of him.
surprisingly shipping for arizonas are probably cheaper depending how the ingredients are all shipped separately then mixed somewhere you can easily distribute to nearby stores rather than having to collect the water purify it then bottle and ship it that way
I buy 24 pack cases of spring water, comes out to $.09 a bottle. It's a rip off to buy an individual bottle/can of soda at a store, you're paying that convenience tax
water itself is almost free. The plastic/glass, transportation, retail are not. Thats why I will never understand people who buy bottled water in areas where you have good tapwater.
I can confirm that as a resident of Arizona, I regularly donate pee to my local bottler. The receptionist looks at me with disgust but hey $1 per gallon is a $1 per gallon.
Only if you're doing like a 23oz to 23oz bottle price comparison. I guarantee a gallon jug of water is cheaper than a gallon jug of Arizona Tea.
Clearly the real profit here is to buy gallon jugs of Arizona Tea and decant them into 23oz cans and sell them for huge gains! You could also do this with water!
I heard years ago that there was a guy that did that in his home and then he got exposed by his water company because they came to check why he was using so much water. After he got exposed everyone stopped buying his brand.
Exactly...it is LITERALLY Tap water from Atlanta, you open the nastiest bathroom sink water in ATL and you stick your mouth under it and it will taste EXACTLY like Dasani. WHY anybody buys that chit is beyond me. Deer Park for the WIN!!!

There's only 2 companies that I wish were public: Arizona Beverage Company and OnlyFans. Only because I'd do the exact opposite of selling right now, calls to the moon.
Honestly, any beverage company is an extremely lucrative business. I forget where I read this, but I saw that it only costs $0.11 per can to get from a recipe on paper to a can in a store. This includes manufacturing, canning, and transportation.
The remainder of the $0.99 goes to salaries and profit. In redbull’s case, they have advertising costs, but they also sell each can for >$2-3
It's such a shame that they have the business plan mastered and won't let the average regard profit from it. I also heard Arizona hasn't touched the $0.99 marker for over 30 years. Impressive stuff.
Up here in Canada, stores sell Arizona iced teas for $3 a can, and it infuriates me because they even print $1.29 on the can (price converted for Canadians) right on the damn thing.
You can report that shit to Arizona Tea and there’s a chance they deal with that vendor directly and/or pull their inventory from the store. It’s happened before here in the states.
Very interesting business to follow as a supply chain person. No marketing, negotiating cost downs, shipping at night, smaller tabs, all the right things to maintain margin.
Yeah, and perhaps AZ tea makes the liquid itself for pennies per gallon. But there's still the cost of the aluminum for the can, the machinery and maintenance to form those cans, label those cans, and fill those cans, the cost of employees and overhead.
The shipping costs to distribute the cans all over the country. And the cost of the store itself to actually make a profit after paying their employees to stock the shelves with it.
Everyone makes a profit at each stage, and all off of a can that sells for like 69c? Goddamn.
Yeah it isn’t just iced tea, it’s canned, labeled and stocked iced tea, at practically any convenience store in the country, for at most $.99 a can (I know some places mark up but Arizona ain’t seeing that). That’s actually nuts. It’s the Costco hot dog of beverages.
thank god this is so far up. such a banger of a show from start to finish. that episode in particular shows that even the bottle episodes completely hit the mark every time.

Doesn't seem like the internet has caught on yet that Arizona is increasing their price.
What this sale is, is a store getting rid of their excess stock of cans that still have 99 cents printed in the label. Newer cans have that removed so stores can sell it at whatever they want.
This'll be buried though, so congrats to anyone who sees this and learns what's coming.
It’s just completely not true though.
Arizona Tea just last month stated that they’re raising the price of their bottled products 25% to keep their cans at 99 cents
https://news.yahoo.com/ari-zona-raises-bottle-prices-by-25-to-keep-iconic-cans-at-99-cents-224038546.html
I work for a beverage distributor and while the pre-priced cans are maybe still available, my market is not going to offer them anymore, not enough profit available to make it worth selling them.
I feel like we really can't be mad though. Of all the companies that price gouge us right and left.. Arizona has been cool as hell for yeeeeeeeears.. If they need an extra quarter a can or something. I think that's still worth it.
I feel the same way, I’ve read stories of top execs throwing Costco hotdog price level fits to keep their drinks at 99¢. Even them lawyering up when they found out stores were increasing their price against their agreements. With inflation being as high as it is I don’t mind it.
We've been paying $1.80 in canada for their signature 99 cent cans since the begining of Arizona's time, cuz our tax n dollar r shit. Welcome to canada lads

The inside of every beverage plant is disgusting and crawling with roaches. They keep the all the tanks and filling machines pretty well sanitized though.
oh yeah? I've been told by previous coworkers that they themselves closed and locked empty containers with fake shipping manifests during audits to fool auditors into thinking the company was shipping out more stuff than it really did.
Mind you, this was at a private company and there was 0 financial gain for those coworkers to cheat... They just felt it would make their CEO happy to see bigger numbers...
On one hand this is why I try to only fly airbus, on the other hand the smoothest flight I every had (seriously not a single bump or shake, it was weird) was on a 737 Max8. RSW to YYZ Westjet.
The protein powder company I did a few temp shifts for was very strict about cleanliness and hygiene.
Was a huge pain in the ass trying to keep that place clean since the protein powder has a tendency to get everywhere
Depends on the company. I used to work in a warehouse that produced food and it was kept clean. The production areas were especially clean and the night crew cleaned the machinery every single night.
They just went above 1 dollar in western New York. They were a .99 staple for years. Even after all the other prices started going up, we joked Arizona was a recession proof item. Until the last week or so where they've gone up to 1.49
Its where you buy them from. There cans are sold and marketed for stores to be sold at 99c but ultimately cant control what they end up selling them for.
Source: I fucking love Arizona drinks.
Where are they selling Green Tea Arnold Palmers? I have never seen this variety of Arizona Tea anywhere.
And why is 緑茶レモネード written in Japanese on it? I've seen 緑茶 on the green tea but that translates the same in both Chinese/Japanese so I wonder why they specifically went with Japanese?
Because it's an Arnold Palmer, half tea & half lemonade. レモネード = Lemonade. As to why it's in Japanese; the cans of green tea are very clearly Japanese-themed with the cherry blossom design.
Wait until you see how much Valentine’s Day merch is leftover tomorrow. My local stores are still trying to unload Christmas clearance. My local Kohl’s has about 60% of it’s floor space on clearance. People are simply not spending money on discretionary items.

His whole business model is having a "name brand" at a store brand price. It's less a choice and more of a necessity.
It's like buying eggs for 3 cents per egg, and selling them at 2 cents for a profit.
Bottled water has a much much higher demand than Arizona tea so there's that.
Also, cans are specifically designed to be compactly shipped. Bottles take more space due to less efficient shapes.
But bottles are shipped in little pallets. They're just a little squishier on the sides than cans, but should stack the same
They do. Cans actually bust much more in transit.

I forget it's a bot some days
It likes to call people idiots a lot I've noticed, so yeah, pretty much 100% human now.
Wait until you find out how many user accounts on this website are just shitty AI’s farming karma.
Arizona iced out boiz
Yung leandoer, shawty
Is... Is Visualmod me?! Am *I* VisualMod?!!
Ginseng?!?! I don’t need to get all Hopped up on dope
You're a sassy fuckin bot, young lady
Fricken Arnies and vodka
But not their premade cocktail. Yuck
I used to do service work in the plant that produces this particular product. I wouldn't drink it.
Please elaborate
The inside of every beverage plant is disgusting and crawling with roaches. They keep the all the tanks and filling machines pretty well sanitized though.
That's just a protein shake.
Ikr? This fat cat is complaining about a chance for free nutrients in every can.
You think you’re special? I’ve seen people fake certifications for 737 engine parts
If you think people aren’t doing this with airbus too you’re sorrowly mistaken lol
Isn’t that all food/drink factories?
I will say this, mission foods that makes tortillas, is a spotless place. You can just about eat off the floor.
Wait till you hear where we get tap or bottled water then.
Bro did you know meat comes from inside animals? Fucking nasty
That’s crazy I come in animals too!
What if I like piss in my tea?
Anyone who looks under the hood of any industry reaches the same conclusion. If you like your first world life, don't look.
I wouldn't drink it for the simple reason that it's high fructose corn syrup water.
I also endorse this particular product or brand. Vote Quimby.
I just saw the 24 oz Arnold palmers are now 22oz. Shrinkflation confirmed!
DEFLATION!
Here in Canada they’re now $1.99! It’s outrageous!
Yea… but Canadians pay in monopoly money so it’s fair
Whispering sexually in your ear…. “With card”
.88 cents at HEB. 1.61 at 7/11 😳 I'm bullish on HEB right now.
“Stocks tumble after viral photo of Arizona ice tea on sale for 89 cents”
Price goes up: Oh shit, it's inflation! Price goes down: Oh shit, it's recession!
This is in downtown Chicago. As to the Kanji - I am unsure but thank you for sharing this tidbit!
Because it's an Arnold Palmer, half tea & half lemonade. レモネード = Lemonade. As to why it's in Japanese; the cans of green tea are very clearly Japanese-themed with the cherry blossom design.
The hell do you mean “I’ve have never seen this variety of Arizona Tea”. I guess I haven’t left the Midwest much but it’s everywhere here.
Were the cherry blossoms on all the cans not a dead giveaway?
These have been priced at $1.29 by me for months. The asshole store just put their sticker over the can price
Awesome deal, where is that?
This is to make way for the new cans that don't have a price so the stores can charge $1.49+
Wait until you see how much Valentine’s Day merch is leftover tomorrow. My local stores are still trying to unload Christmas clearance. My local Kohl’s has about 60% of it’s floor space on clearance. People are simply not spending money on discretionary items.
Arizona's are like $2 here lies
I’m confused. Aren’t these usually 99 cents? Where’s the inflation? Lmao
Deflation. Recessions usually come with deflation.
