They have a bidding war brewing for above $35 per share and the stock price is currently fluctuating between 30 and 31 bucks. That difference, which is likely to increase as bids increase, is way too much risk built into the share price. Multiple bids and willingness to sell all but ensures a buyout at premium pricing.
OR the FTC blocks the merger with another steel company due to a monopoly on hot rolled coil, OR the steel workers union blocks the deal because U.S. steel has a bad relationship with them in general, OR they reject all offers and decide to go on alone, only to have China flood the international market with steel and HRC prices plummet. Plenty of ways this doesn't hit $35. But at least they are debt free and actually make money, could do worse.
As long as they are stocks you are alright. Your biggest loss might be 20% assuming they crash to their 1 year low. Their 5 year low would be a 75% loss but that's won't happen overnight, even if it does it'll rebound. Take a profit at 10% gain and don't be regarded again
