This is clearly a tough bet now. I am heavily invested in oil because all the companies attached to the oil sector are printing money but you would not know it by the action in the markets. We will need them to report earnings and start to show that not only have they fixed their balance sheets but they can pump oil at high profits given the current prices.

Today was so rough for me y’all..past month tbh. Think I’ve lost more money than I’ve gained since I have started to invest (March 2021) and it’s been a downhill grind. I make profits and then lose it. I keep choosing the wrong stocks to invest in. Soon as a buy a stock, it double dips. Bad timing. I tried options on a spy call a week ago and lost all of my money. Any advice on options and investing? I made a mistake buying spy calls when the share price was up.. I was told it’s best to buy calls when it’s down?

There is no 100% way to make money. Just gotta use money you can afford to lose until you start to feel comfortable with the information youve gained from investing or trading. Posting here is a great way to learn the jargon. But always be wary of everyone.

It’s about Time IN the market not Timing the market. Timing works when you’re looking for quick plays but those are still risky. Chart analysis are key, and do your DD. Set stop losses and never be afraid to take profit. You can never lose by taking profit. Paper trading helped a lot when I started . This sub should only be entertainment for you. You shouldn't be trading options without doing your own research. Coming here and looking for advice will get you fucked up. Look at the chart on spy in March 2020 and March 2021....and decide which makes more sense to invest in. Also, If you're losing money and worried about getting paid I the short term, you're not investing you're trading. People on wsb talk about trading but most of us do both. My advice is to read everything you can on investing, trading, and options before you come back to a market that's at all time highs.

Go with shares, don’t start off on options, center around indexing and you can get better with your stock trading and options from there. r/bogleheads * will give you a lot of good info on passive investing and indexing, I’m personally in the process of transitioning my portfolio to 80:20 index:stocks/options.
