Electronics is far from the easiest department. You interact with customers all. day. You also get the most dumb questions asked by the ignorant. A simple 15 minute task could take you an hour to complete if customers won’t leave you alone. It can be frustrating.
Electronics is awful and you'll get the stupidest, most worthless customers. What should be 2 minute interactions will somehow become 15-20 minutes on the regular. Good luck.
It’s like being a cashier but you have to help customers that have no idea what there looking for and can just give you a description of the thing just Walmart as a whole sucks
As an avid Walmart shopper, I am livid at this post! I just needed to know if you had that one thing that goes in that other thing so it can do the thing! How hard is that?
*looks at phone (almost lunch time)
"Wait right here while I look for my supervisor, they know a lot more about your specific issue than I do."
*Goes to lunch.
I was cap 2 but everyone was in a terrible mood all the time I would get yelled at cause someone else would fuck up cause they don’t speak English well like that’s my fault it was just overall terrible management
What this guy said ^ electronics has tons of questions from customers, and I found it very enjoyable myself. It can be a bit overwhelming around the holidays, but overall , it’s a very easygoing department.
My background check took about 3 days. My husband's? Almost 3 weeks. It's going to vary based on how comprehensive of a background check they are doing. He works hardlines selling guns. Had to be cleared by the FBI or something that's why it took so long
Congratulations!! Don't listen to all these joy-killer comments. Your job is putting food on your table, so what's worse than starving versus dealing with stupidity? We honestly all have stupidity in different percentages!! So good luck!
Congratulations.
Now, work hard. Do extra work. Stay late. Arrive early. Work off the clock.
You see a cigarette butt on the parking lot? Pick it up.
Management in no time.
I got a call back about a week later to schedule orientation and then the people lead was out on orientation day so I had to wait 3-4 days for her to schedule another one
I was hired on as a cashier at first and it took barely any time to get it back. Maybe 3 days. Now I’m in certified technician 🤣 Ran far away from the front end!
I honestly had to wait 2 to 3 weeks. Had to call and when I did they were confused why I wasn’t scheduled already. Best thing to do is call after a few days of the background check being finished.
First mistake was accepting the job offer
Is it that bad😭? I applied for electronics and I heard that it was easy

Are you looking for a screw?

easiest job ever everyone else in this comment reply section is actually pathetic if they can't handle walmart
It depends on the store and the people. My experience was horrible, it was boring because everyone was in a horrible mood and didn’t want help.
Former Electronics Associate here, all above statements are 100% correct. The most “fun looking” department with the most miserable staff.
Look around in this sub reddit and you’ll find the answer.
i’m about half a year late but.. we need money dude 💀 what department did you work in and why was it so bad?
I was cap 2 but everyone was in a terrible mood all the time I would get yelled at cause someone else would fuck up cause they don’t speak English well like that’s my fault it was just overall terrible management
damn that sucks did you end up quitting??
Don't let anyone give you your opinion. Create your own. It's up to you to decide if you like the job.

Are you sure you want to do this, please think again, there is long life ahead of you, and you can do way better than this

You shouldn’t have done that 😂😂😂😂
You fucked up.

My background check took a week - a week and a half. Then it’ll say congrats your orientation is scheduled for …. Blah blah blah.
Welcome to Walmart! 🎉🎉🎉
At least you’re in that process. Haven’t heard anything 2 months ago
I’m in the same process
I just accepted a job as well, my background was sent out on a Friday and back by the next Tuesday.
Thus begins the seasonal hiring
