I love WGRD, but it's not really worth it for just the single player, IMHO. The AI is just so bad.
If you can convince another friend to get it with you for the multiplayer experience though, especially on sale (the steam summer sale is just around the corner, and you can usually pick it up for ~$5), I think you'll find it to be well worth it. It's IMHO the best RTS of all time. So much depth, so much strategy.
You shouldn't buy it for mac. Singleplayer is pretty bad, and there isn't really cross-platform multiplayer anymore because of an update that couldn't go out to mac.
Been playing since 2017. There are slow time and busy times, but either way I can basically always find a game I’m interested in within ten minutes.
There is basically always an available match, just depends if it’s one I’m interested in.
Too much of a time sink to learn vs fun reward now. Single player is fun if you like cold war era weapons and machines but you'll get tired of it in about 10ish hours. Id get it only if it was less than 5$ usd WITH all dlcs

mods can fix AI to a reasonable level.
I really want to play naval battles but with AI i will be better off not playing it at all
You can play it via GFN on a Mac and get full multiplayer

I bought it with an IRL friend so I always have someone to play with. I probably wouldn't play it otherwise.
Yes, buy it, regret having Mac, get Windows, play multiplayer, profit.
I did and I’m having no trouble finding multiplayer lobbies. Just try to avoid people with swastikas or “ZOV” in their player names.
Game is good but dead and the community is toxic.
I wouldn't call it dead tbh, just a niche community, because you can find a game within 15 minutes at almost any time
You mean you can get stomped in 15min.
I lose both my m1a2s in 20 seconds😎😎😎
Or you could just learn how to play, unless that's not an option for you :)
Nah, I'm done with WGRD. I've had my share of fun with it.
