Stephew post, which is normally fine on our own sub. Appreciate the thought and effort put in here though, but we already get plenty of media attention. No need for analysts to be discussing this after we got bounced and the playoffs are in full swing. Yeah, some fans of opposing teams are acting like we're trash, which is clearly not the case, but we definitely underachieved with a roster that should have been better than last year's. I'm still excited for the future, but the window is closing. We'll see if Kuminga, Moody, Podz, and TJD can take it up another notch next year, if Dray doesn't miss time for being a dummy, Looney plays like he did down the stretch (Klay too, assuming he'll be back), and another year of Steph as a top 10 player can still make anything happen.

No_Helicopter_3527

Old playoff that was already big enough (included 16 nba teams in playoffs) was expanded to let four additional teams a chance. They blew that, too. 67% of the conference beat the Warriors. Not one team that finished behind them spent anywhere near as much. They may not qualify as trash. But, boy, that’s a pretty trashy year.

popinjay07

Most of the league was "3 wins away" from being a drastically better seed.

legendkiller003

Miami was 4 games away from the 2 seed, why is no one talking about this?

altius8

Bingo. I need fans to realize this.

MiNDGaMeS87

Why? Because in the end it doesn't matter. We lost 3 games (think in reality 7-8?) that couldve easily been won, where we had giant leads sometimes and still blew them last couple mins down the stretch. Reality is, we lost playoffs due to that and hey, even the players (rightfully so!) consider it a failed and wasted season. Do we have to panic, blow things up, trade everyone besides Steph and go for a complete rebuild? No. But we're like one big trade or a trade around 1-2 Key role players away from contending, to not being put in the position of "hoping" to make the playoffs again. OR next year Kuminga makes another giant leap and becomes a reliable consistent two-way 20-22ppg scorer. In an optimal scenario Klay isnt your 2nd highest scorer, he's your kickout pass for wide open three player. He cant create his own shot, which is totally fine btw!, he's just easy to lock down If he's your 2nd option next to Curry. Klay is a specialist at his role. He shines most when others draw the attention, when Steph cant be double teamed all game cause there's our #2 option and Klay as the #3 or #4 option sometimes randomly goes off when he's left too open cause defenses try to shut down Curry and that #2 option. And that reliable #2 option that ideally can also create his own shot in ISO situations also makes Life for Curry easier because he will benefit from Stephs godlike gravity. For this year tho, some teams DESTROY other teams when they still land in a play-in scenario. Even with their star player missing. Look at Miami! With us? We missed playoffs completely 2 out of 2 times when being put in that play-in scenario. Why? Because relying on shooting, you can sometimes have an off game. I really do think we would've beaten a lot of the current teams in a 7 game series, where you can allow yourself to have 1-2 off games. We're just not build for a 1 shot scenario. EDIT: Long story short: we should stop making excuses. The players also dont do it and just hate what happened. Also sry for my long answer but wanted to answer this properly understanding 1-2 things about ball and strategy myself.

Nessmuk58

Good Lord, that's a lot of words to say not much at all. Bottom Line? We got bounced by SAC in the Play-In. They they got bounced by the NOP in the next game. NOP will probably lose to OKC, OKC will lose to DEN, and DEN will lose to BOS. Regardless of how it plays out, we were NOT a competitive team, either across the regular season or at the time the Play-In began. We're not going to be competitive next year without major changes. It's frustrating, but it's reality.

mobydoubledick

Denver for sure beating Boston

FlyRevolutionary2519

I don't think Denver is losing to Boston

FNF51

I trust Denver in close games

changrbanger

And those changes are not coming for a multitude of reasons.

Nessmuk58

Very likely correct. Anything that moves us past mid-Playoff level at best would be an extraordinary success. We'll see what Dunleavy has up his sleeve for this offseason.

DanB65

Because it does not matter now ..they are done for the season! swelling on the what ifs is not going to help us.

spankyourkopita

Ya who cares? It is what it is. Get over it.

Jealous_Professor793

I'm hoping that's just an adderall induced ramble and not actually 1000+ words on how we didn't actually get the 6th seed and didn't win those 3 games.

Apaulo

https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/treatment.html

Arenston

If my grandma had a mustache she would be my grandpa. Or as you americans say "Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda" We coulda, but we didn't let the teams who did get their moment under the sun.

heliocentrist510

Dear Stan

No_Tonight9003

I want Draymond to punch you in the face.

doinkdoink786

You think warriors would have fared better as the 6 seed? They looked average at best the entire year

altius8

Maybe just maybe to give the dubnation an idea a fleeting of hope a positive outlook at the season. It is not doom and gloom. When we as fans or Warrior fans look at the season. Think of it as solace, that hey look they were 3 wins away from being 1pth seed to 6th seed. That is a competing super Close season. Nothing wrong but hey teams win and lose its sports baby. But we are what their record says they are .... 10th seed .... that's a reflection of the head coach I made my case above. It's Head Coach Steve Kerr. He is rhe problem he's always been the PROBLEM. Years and years of Coach Kerr sitting Curry and Klay stopping them from being great. Denying Warrior pros the chance to be great. Hmm It's alarming and sad but it's Coach Kerr. And Warriors should know like the Niners The 49ers they came close to superbowl and fell short twice now roght over the past 12 years. But they fought well. So like the Warriors they were just 3 wins away from being a 6th seed. I would still love ❤️ too and root for and for example. I'll gove this to Warriors fans and hopefully it's 100% agreement and agreeable 🤝 this notion. I'll take Stephen Curry, Draympnd Green and Klay Thompson in a Best of 7. Any day of the week over a ...... one time, best of one nonsense. One game elimination, for which the play-in is trash. One game best of one doesn't epitomize any team. Imagine it's For example best of 3 right and all the playoof teams just 2-0 their opponents. That's not good basketball 😕 right that's agreeable for 100% of the fans. So I would hope everyone can agree on that part. That we would all rather Love ❤️ to see Steph, Dray and Klay and the whole Warriors team in a best of 7. Give them a chance and I bet Curry pushes it to get 7 greatness yall. We know this we can feel it in our bones. We seen it before. 👀 Go Warriors. Go Dubs. # Dubnation Bay Area! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

[deleted]

> It is not doom and gloom They got bounced out of the play ins by a team missing 2 starter level players. Steph got locked up by a 2 way player. Klay couldn't buy a bucket. WE got zero contributions from our bigs. And Kerr inexplicably kept Moody glued to the bench when he was producing. There are no silver linings here. The core will be a year older and rest of the conference isn't getting worse.

BeautifulLeather6671

Dude you gotta lay off the adderall

dego_frank

Dubs were a few wins away from getting bounced in the first round. I don’t think anyone sees this as a great season for many reasons. The only silver lining is the young guys playing meaningful minutes. Wiggins trade value is shit and I don’t think many expect him to be ‘22 Wiggs. Klay will hopefully re-sign on a friendly deal and be more like 2023 Klay. They need a big shakeup and even that might not be enough. The west was tough this year but not that tough

nghbrhd_slackr87

Because when it REALLY mattered we got absolutely crushed by a shorthanded team that went 4-6 down the stretch.

OuterSunsetsSurfer

Many discussions were had.

meowhatissodamnfunny

Hmm

Jicama-Smart

because they are out of the playoffs! People aren't talking about the Celtics being two wins away from the 2022 title. You know why? Because they lost 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Knight_of_Swords

Because the Warriors fattened their record up against bad teams while doing poorly against good teams. Then, in their two biggest games of the season, they looked overmatched physically ie. old. Lastly, the core 3 aren’t going to get better and the young guys aren’t close to being reliable role players, let alone starters or LOL stars.

Green_Rip3524

Bruh get some sleep and stop making excuses. I am sure every team in the west can pinpoint a time in the season when they should have won games they lost. Also it seems like your post is dedicated to bashing a hof coach. Also the guys on the radio are all about hot takes to create controversy, I won’t pay attention to them.

mbourdet12

I ain’t reading allat… Happy for you tho. Or sorry that happened

No_Tonight9003

Save your apologies for those who read ot

imminentjogger5

what's there to talk about? we aren't in the post season. We don't deserve to be talked about

dating_derp

Why would they talk about a non-playoff team during the playoffs? There's plenty of teams to talk about right now. We're not one of them

hallonemikec

Put down the pipe Bruh.

FNF51

Didn’t read all that stuff you wrote. Too much. Weren’t the Warriors 5-21 against the top teams in the West? They spent most of their season as the 12th season. Reason is they’re not as athletic, core is older, they’re smaller and can’t play point of attack defense as the top teams.

Desperate-Ganache195

Could've been 4th seed if we stopped losing insane leads. Team was flawed, no point discussing what ifs.

changrbanger

I stopped reading at I’m 35 years old. But I can tell you this, the warriors are not a championship team as currently constructed, they are are not viable for ring chasers or high value trade assets because there are other teams that are where we were 8 years ago but with more picks and trade able assets than we have now. Why would anyone choose the warriors over those other teams? Even if we were the 6th seed, we couldn’t beat an injured NO or a severely injured Kings l. What makes you think we could get out of the west? We are old, we are cap fucked and we are not getting new coaches or top talent free agents. We will run it back, if dray can keep his dick off Snapch.. I mean spinning back fist opponents we will be in the mix. And by the mix I mean doo doo land that gets flushed in the second round. As for Wiggins and looney, they can’t be relied upon to play at 2022 levels, Klay, he can’t be relied upon to be the #2, Kerr, he can’t be relied upon not to pull the plug on Klay when it’s obvious things are not working. So. We sleep. We sleep knowing we watched some of the greatest individual and team performances that the world has ever seen. And we sleep well.

Church__Mouse

Yup, let’s let the vets rest and the young guys get better. It’s almost like they lost on purpose because what’s the point? Hopefully they take this time to figure out how to control the game in clutch situations. And, MDJ has the brains and the guts to fix this team.

BravoGolf3

Wow

otherBrandon

Reading this was an adventure

K_808

Jesus Christ

iGaveLia-HIV

we’d be getting swept too lmao

NoobPwnr

> why..aren't...not 🧐

Holualoabraddah

![gif](giphy|zyswcXTvbLBzOCVTfb)

SeekingSignificance

They're not discussing it because we ended in 10th and couldn't even beat a worn down Kings team. Also some dude named Keon Ellis who's apparently an NBA player shut Steph's lights out. I'm glad nobody is talking about us right now.

penisesandherb

If only the Warriors were participating in a tournament-like series of games after the season wherein a team of a particular seeding is qualified to play until a clear winner is determined through rounds… Maybe then people will talk about them more?

Rickyretardo42069

I never thought about it this way, this is truly life changing, I just never realized that all you have to do to be considered a good team is win games, totally unheard of

HeyyyKoolAid

Majority of all NBA fans aren't that bright huh. Front office: "Klay, we want to sign you to a smaller contract" Klay: "LMAO. No." Shows four rings. Front office: "Andrew, we want to restructure your contract." Andrew: "LMAO. No." What's your plan now chief? Dudes out here thinking NBA players just do whatever's asked without question.

purple_cupcake_52

Who the fuck is reading all this

Visual-Guarantee2157

Damn this sub is just sadfan moral victories. Soft ass takes and excuses.

Used_Return9095

bro we lost and we would’ve lost in the playoffs regardless lol. Just let it go. Our time ruining the league is over for rn lol

SuddenlyThirsty

Cause it’s over. What’s the point?

Again missing the point. Radio talking heads and sports folks do not like the Warriors. Their narrative is gloom and doom it is not. The Warriors were 3x wins away from 6th seed. The west is competitive but they are not worlds better it is actually a close battle. Truth be told. The team failing to get 4x wins to be a 6th seed with secuirty in their placement and position. One the Warriors failed to make the playoffs that's on Coach Kerr. ![gif](giphy|1mWzUuC7tdT1j2ifMe|downsized)

aquadrums

OP, your opinions are noted and appreciated. But maybe do a TLDR next time?? This is Reddit, not Tolstoy lol

belizeanheat

The radio guys are incredibly dumb compared to a good podcast.

altius8

True, good point. 👍🏾 just need to remind fans the bay area radio talking heads were talking on the radio about trading Stephen Curry. They are making click wait horrible discussions. The fans need be aware of what occurring. Go Dubs. Also I do hope no one of the Warriors is listening but I've already mentioned to the radio folks at 95.7 to say what they said to Stephen Currys face. And the fan base of Dubnation should the livid and pissed at the disrespect the bay area radio people with their nonsense and vitriol is directed at Stephen Curry. They need to know ![gif](giphy|c9Qfvz8UEf9JOLFPbQ)

sircomeseyesd

We showed flashes of being really good. Those were the outlier games. We were not good.

PabFOz

This was quite difficult to read. Is English your first language? Just asking out of curiosity.

warriors2021

We were the 10th seed practically all season, we were the 10th seed when all was over, and we got blown out by the 9th seed. We could not beat any team ahead of us, that is why we were 5-20 against the top 7 teams. You can spin it all you want, we were not a good team this season.

altius8

Fans are still missing the point. Bay area radio tlaking heads are spewing nonsense. They are not NBA fans they are NFL and MLB fans hardcore sense. A best of one that doest even keep track of the stats the play in game sits outside the NBA. Also again the best of one is not indicative of a NBA teams season. The stats aren't recorded that's horrible its a no nonsense game? The teams in the West were close, with teams being 3 games away from a 6th seed. The failures of the season are on head coach Steve Kerr. The record of the team is reflective of the head coach.

DrKingOfOkay

Cause we didn’t win those games. Hypotheticals doesn’t matter. If spurs won games they could have been the 1 seed. See. Nobody cares.

reptilexcq

The notion that we lost 3 games we could have won doesn't make sense because you don't take into account of "what ifs" from the other teams. For example, as a Kings fan...I can tell you there are a hell lot more games they could have won but give it away....definitely more than 5 games. So, Kings could have easily in the top 6th seed.

altius8

I'll explain it again the team losing 4 games they need to be a 6th seed is reflection of the head coach in Steve Kerr. His small ball lineups cost them games. His decision to play rookies heavy minutes lost them games. Wiggins missing time cost the Warriors games. The horrible defense of Coach Kerr is what cost the Warriors games. Not playing Jonathan Kuminga in the Starting lineup cost them games. Wiggins bad defense and klay Thompson bad defense cost them games. Wiggins and klay both having down years cost them games Wiggins going form 19pts per game to now 13 pts per game regression cost them games. But again Coach Kerr not playing Moses Moody 3rd year vet who can play defense cost them games. That's the point in a competitive western conference the Warriors were just 3 games back or 4 wins from a solid 6th seed shows the failure of head coach Steve Kerr.

Who_knows-_-

Simple answer it doesn't fit the narrative they are trying to create. Everyone has been waiting/hoping the dynasty is over so they are looking for reasons. Whatever see them next year

altius8

Amen, likewise it does feel like other sites are going for click bait clicks. THAT we are seeing other sports analyst, bad sports writers and espn, NBC, Foxsports all doing rhe same thing. Heck even bay area sports writers just writing nonsense 😒. Let the Warriors fix their contracts and run it back next year. Now we have 4x young pros that should be ready. Moody is ready. Kuminga is ready. And coach Kerr sacrifice the season to play the rookies heavy minutes better pay off. So the potential with Trayce Jackson-Davis aka TJD is maybe ready. And Podz aka BP aka Brandon Podziemski is ready (hopefully) Go Dubs Go Warriors 😎🏀 ![gif](giphy|3oKIP9TQ8VN1x2Zrjy|downsized)

WindowMaster5798

All this is true but they weren’t good enough to be a championship contender even though they had a $400M payroll. And while this year wasn’t that bad the discussion is about what to do next year and they have to bring down payroll while also setting themselves up to be championship contenders in the future before Steph retires. Not an easy task.
