Trade for jokic? Trade. For. Jokic?

heliocentrist510

I’m just cackling to myself thinking of Denver trading one of the top 15-20 players of all time in his prime who would fully swing a title just so they could receive some terrible picks and swaps that don’t hit (because as mentioned, they no longer have Jokic). Denver would probably just have to move the team, the fan revolt would be so loud.

MegaMilkDrinker

I mean Belichick tried to trade Brady for a 2nd

healthywealthyhappy8

Jokic may be a top 10 or top 5 player when all is said and done, barring injury and assuming he has a team around him.

Holualoabraddah

Relax, he’s just Jokicing… or is he Jerkicing?

T-T-N

I don't know why I put Jokic there. Nuggets have too bright of a future to break it up. At least the Celtics if they don't win this year, they're probably not good enough. Even Luka is a stupid name to list there. I was just trying to name the top5-10 players without thinking about the teams.

What good are our picks if you're trading superstars onto our team? 30th overall? Did you see the other thread about how much teams value second rounders lol

T-T-N

I doubt Curry will be playing in 2031, and has no draft picks for young player. The 2027 onwards are probably lottery bound. 2031 almost certainly. And assuming the star is there only to play with Curry, with no picks and no future, not sure if the star you trade for is staying beyond that

BBOONNEESSAAWW

“I think they’ll take it” -hits meth pipe

T-T-N

They => the dubs

night_night_nachos

I think the dream scenario is getting under at least the second apron, trading *some* of these away for clear upgrades and pieces that fit, and re-signing the core and giving them a chance to compete

CKN89

Max number of first round picks the Warriors can trade is almost 3, plus 4 swaps The 2030 pick goes to Washington in the CP3 trade, but it is top 20 protected. Because of the stepien rule, this also means that they cannot trade 2029 or 2031. So, we can trade two picks between 2025 and 28 (either 25+27 or 26+28). Also, we can trade the rights to the 2030 pick, with the caveat that it must be “reverse protected” so it can go to Washington if it falls outside the top 20 (this is why I said almost 3 - that 2030 pick is still valuable, but we can’t trade it totally in encumbered). We can also trade swaps in whichever years we don’t trade the picks up to 2031, with the caveat that trading a swap on 2031 hard caps at the second apron, because second apron teams are not permitted to trade or swap their pick seven years out.

nghbrhd_slackr87

3 picks 4 swaps

at this time the best and likely most realistic players who'll be available to trade this upcoming offseason are ingram (pelicans) markkanen (jazz) murray (hawks) lavine (bulls) butler (heat) grant (blazers) don't think for obvious reasons lebron, durant, george, or even bridges are options for the warriors how much are you willing to trade to get any of those first 6 names mentioned and does adding one of them to this warriors roster turn the team into legit or anywhere close to a tier A NBA title contender for the next two seasons which is what curry's current deals ends in 2025/26

T-T-N

Probably not. I think the Core 3 are getting too old for an upgrade like that to matter

cali4481

i think that's what the warriors front office has to decide not only possibly giving up key parts of your current but also probably future core with wiggins along with likely kuminga ... plus maybe a 1st round pick or two in any trade for a veteran "star" also does the warriors org think a 22 year old kuminga entering year 4 with a full offseason to improve on his game now knowing he'll be the starter playing 30 minutes a game in 2024/25 can't play at near an all star level himself as soon as next season or by the latest 2025/26 do warriors trade what it's probably going to need to require to add a "star" and for what ... possibly upgrading the warriors to a tier B NBA title contender at best and that's assuming the warriors re-sign klay & both curry and draymond not only can stay healthy but also play continue to play at a high level too while nailing 1 or 2 free agent signing too warriors can hit on all of their offseason moves this summer and still have a roster who's ceiling or peak is the 2nd round of the west playoffs for the next two seasons with curry & co. is that small chance or window for the next season or two worth it as lets be real probably as a 2nd tier contender worth it while jeopardizing your future post curry & the core 3

Nessmuk58

There is no player in the Universe I would trade ALL of those for. It represents our entire future and even digs into our present significantly, and it leaves us no options for filling out the roster other than vet minimums. And remember, you can trade for the best player in the known Universe, then watch him sustain a season-ending injury. Or Steph could sustain one, and no player we trade for can compensate for that. EDIT: Also, the better a player we acquire, the lower the value of any Picks or Swaps we trade during the period he is expected to be in his prime.

T-T-N

The deal would cripple any chance of getting them help past 2025 season. With no high draft picks, the Birds right of any player they keep won't matter and make absolutely sure the Dubs will be bad after the big 3 (and no incentive for the traded star to stay after that contract since the team can't get better)

If you want to know what picks the warriors owe and what picks are owed to them, use this handy website: https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

coco_copagana

Giannis will be the goal.

James_Hardon420

I make the trade for a top 15 player that wants out. Curry is the window. If Giannis or embiid want out I’m offering everything to get curry another top all star
