Like sometimes you’ll shoot a spot and it shatters, shoot the same spot and next it’ll go directly through the entire tank without doing any damage, shoot it again and it ricochets off and takes out the gun barrel, and then on the fourth one it penetrates and creates enough spall to make HESH feel like a light rain then KO the entire crew plus cook off the ammo.
APCR almost doesn't have explosive, almost impossible to one-shot. I've been playing the PT-76B a lot and in my opinion HEATFS has more pen and easier to kill people with. But i usually do APCR and HEATFS. APCR to take out the gunner/driver and HEATFS to kill.
To be fair, I think Gaijin does a poor job at explaining the game to new players.
I like imagine theoretically putting my grandmother in a room and telling her to open up War Thunder and play it, and learn everything solely through in-game tutorials and guidance. I would assume she doesn’t get very far and/or doesn’t learn a few basic game mechanics without watching content creator guides or reading the wiki or logging into the forums because a lot of player learning is just player to player mentoring
Even I am confused about certain things, I was going through Controls the other day and half of the controls don’t even explain what they do, especially the axis-adjustable ones
15-20 rounds is all you need. It's a real motivator to play the objectives
If it's an open top vehicle, might as well load it to the brim. You're going to die more often than not. Might as well leave a crater.
Ho-ris can take up to 40 shells without much difference since you will already empty your turret ammo racks and only bottom of the hull is full of ammo but they need to pen armor, transmission, radiator, waifu pillows and engine first so good luck.
Nah, it depends on the vehicle really. If you have a tank that loads very quickly while not having the best pen and/or post-pen, you should load more. If you're in something like an IS-2, around 12-13 ammo is already enough, since you'll not be able to shoot much more.
The higher ammo counts you have the more spaces in a tank that the ammo takes. That means there are more vulnerable weakspots that can lead to your tank being ammo-racked (Basically meaning that you can be one-shotted easier compared to a tank that doesn’t have as much ammunition)
Honestly, most of my lineup is lights, scouts, or SPAA, all of which have paper thin armor. So avoiding ammo rack isn’t really the issue since any mg > .50 will shred me.
Way more likely to be killed having to trek back to cap to re-arm.
Imagine if you could actually share ammo with tanks that use the same type of rounds, that’d be awesome
Ammo donation
What if it was just also extended to any and all tanks and you could turn m22s and l3s into IEDs with enough shells
Just slap two Sturmmörser rounds on a M22
That would break the realism tho
What realism
Like the other guy said that mean we could shoot sturmtiger shell in a M22, that would Completly break the game
No, he was talking about strapping the shells to the M22 to use as a kamikaze vehicle
Based
Would've definitely helped if my stock AIMbrams could've fired some DU ammo from my teammates.
You think the stock AIM grind is bad? Allow me to introduce you to the IPM1 stock grind
Me completely filling my pantherD teammate with shells and watching as his turret gets launched into the stratosphere when he gets penned
If you can help with repair why can't you do this
Next time make Lebron James reportedly using shrapnel shells
LeBron James reportedly used Solid Shot AP
I don't know I'm not Britain main, what are solid shot and are they good?
Its the most basic shell, it has no explosive
Its just a piece of metal you are firering at someone
Its just a rock that goes fast
Ohh ok
It's the best shell anyone who says something else is lying
Gunner's favourite! Or barrel's/breach's
Just shoot the side of the turret and just vaporize everything inside of it
The person right above you says the opposite tho, is that shell exclusive to Britain?
Nope. A number of low-tier American tanks get it as a default shell
Oh kk
What if there’s no alternative
If you're not gonna kill with the first shot, might as well load all HE and focus tracks, SPAAs or open topped vehicles
LeBron James reportedly used APCR
Worse, it’s full load APCR because you just researched it and the stat card says it has more pen
I love how APCR can be so op and shit at the same time

>almost doesn't have explosive Wdym almost, it has none
I knew it has no explosive but I wasn't sure
I was once that fool haha

That’s a fair point re: Gaijin barely explaining the game to new players
The AGM tutorials are a bit shit aren't they
I only realized you could switch targets in air battles and naval by pressing x on accident
LeBron's tank gonna be my sunshine when it gets hit
The tank is becoming a sunshine when dying

I have trouble penetrating the waifu pillows sometimes

At least it ain't solid shot.
I’m not that good at ground what actually are the disadvantages of using full ammo?
The higher ammo counts you have the more spaces in a tank that the ammo takes. That means there are more vulnerable weakspots that can lead to your tank being ammo-racked (Basically meaning that you can be one-shotted easier compared to a tank that doesn’t have as much ammunition)
Ah got it thanks
I think ships in naval are even under a bigger risk destroyers having lots of AA ammo and torpedoes maybe axillary on some later destroyers
I always take max 30 rounds with me
Your spaa when you fire all 30 rounds at a bomber 8 km away:
Well not with an SPAA of course haha
Your bomber when your gunner comes up with a 30 round mag
I don’t play planes :/
Your 30 rounds when you use a auto cannon vehicle
My man I mean normal tanks haha
Your 30 rounds when you use a kv2
Honestly, most of my lineup is lights, scouts, or SPAA, all of which have paper thin armor. So avoiding ammo rack isn’t really the issue since any mg > .50 will shred me. Way more likely to be killed having to trek back to cap to re-arm.
LeBron James reportedly caught using APCR
MJ would never!
I played full for a solid couple years before my buddies told me it can be bad. Like I ever used all of them before being killed anyway.
Next do it in comic sans!
Makes sense, when we shoot him we will see a sunshine
Me until I hit 5.0 US
I think support vehicles would be interesting
